I have had this card for 8 months and can confirm that everything in the video about it is also my experience. You should introduce more the App. It is a wonderful thing. When travelling in Spain recently I was always offered a receipt when paying with the card. Not necessary I said and showed them the display of my phone. There was the receipt already. Wow, some said. Good time not to waste taper. Thanks for the video.
Extremely helpful video, especially for the foreigner students in Italy. Thanks 🙏🏻 Unfortunately my delivery delays , It’s been 3 weeks since I’ve ordered 😏
Hi Mariam, glad the video was helpful! Sorry to hear about the delay! Hopefully it's already arrived by now! If you haven't yet, it's deffinately worth contacting them immediately!
Excited when I found this video as I am planning on getting a place in Italy. Then checked their site. It now says "Our product will no longer be available to customers in the US after January 11, 2022". Bummer. Good video though.
Hello Rafael. Today I sent you a question by email after seeing your first banking video. After watching this video, I feel that my question has been answered! Thank you! Adrienne Washington State
I need to do research to see if a brick and mortar bank is better than something online. But I must say I like talking to someone in person when I have a problem. One thing I do recommend is get a bank close to where you live. ALSO: one fact I learned the hard way is that if you have say, Intesa San Paolo and your bank is in one town, if you go to another town they can't service you in another one! Like if you lost your debit card you must go to your bank where you have an account.
Haha radio actually used to be a dream of mine, but with how hard it is to get into raise and with the decline I though I might as well give my videos a little bit of a radio/podcast feel :)
@@RafaelDiFuria wow u replied amazing!! I moved to germany from America 4 months ago and found your videos bc my boyfriend is Italian and he wanted me to see what the supermarkets are like there 😂😂 keep making stuff and maybe even a podcast bc wow your voice 😍
Thanks for coming to check out the video Birkan :) Have a great weekend! If you do decide to try it out be sure to use the link in the more info section :)
Does N26 meet the Italian requirements as a bank account for purchasing or renting a home? (Or other services that you’ve mentioned that need an Italian account)
Thanks for the post. I already have EU citizenship through my dads birth in Ireland but also qualify for Italian citizenship through my grandparents and working on that one. I have Euro account with the Bank of Ireland and borderless account with transferwise. I will check out N26. I work remotely for a tech company based in California but can work remotely so long has I have fast internet access and have done so from Europe several times on extend stays there. My dream is winters in Italy and summers in Ireland.
How Is different from Wize? What are the limitations to this online bank account that you have that you don’t have with a regular bank? For example, can you pay home taxes, garbage, gas and electric be at this online bank as you can do with a regular bank account?
This is so helpful. So....now that you're 9 months in with N26, are you still happy with this bank? I'll definitely be checking out your affiliate link and will send this video to my Italian friend bank shopping. Grazie mille, Rafael :-)
Very interesting video. I cannot believe how old school they are in Italy. I never signed so many documents to open an account. It was ridiculous! I spent almost a whole day . In addition, to access to online banking, you need to get an Italian phone number, which is another headache . I guess is the price we must pay to live here !
You wish Italy was old school. It was not like this before. Banksters want to stop Italians to use cash and made up all these crazy rules to stop “criminal activity” .... like if we were stupid and don’t know what they are doing. So no, this is not old school, this is new banksters way to get Italians to follow rules, regulations and use a traceable card
I'm currently using N26 in Italy and overall like it, but I'm also looking for a brick-and-mortar bank for tax filing purposes. Do you have any tips on quality Italian banks that won't break the bank with maintenance fees?
Great advice. But I think brick and mortar isn't going anywhere. People, including Italians, are big on paper receipts and documents. And sometimes you just have to speak to someone face to face and need to sign stuff.
They make you use the app as part of the sign up security process. The trouble is the app needs Android 6 or higher and my phone has Android 5 so I cannot open an acount!!!
Interesting! I hadn't heard of this before, will check it out. I use BancoPosta, no yearly fee when I enrolled, which is not bad. I use it mainly to pay my rent or some bills online (whi h costs 1,00 per transaction, sigh. Lol)
It's interesting you bring them up. I recently was looking at them and it's soo much more expensive now than when you signed up. Also all of the different fees OMG I love this service because the transfers and automatic monthly reoccurring transfers that you set up are also free. If you do decide to try it out be sure to use the link in the more info section :)
I think you should start a new you tube channel as a radio DJ and just play Italian music, or classic oldies 😊 with you as a DJ, you have the voice for it💕💗😉👍👏😄 remember Wolf Man Jack the DJ??
please tell me how to add money into the account . i thought they had branches in Italy . now i am fucked up .please tell me how. i recently started this account and i have no idea about this
I am waiting for the Metal Card, i think living in Milano and being able to go with it to switzerland is quite nice. Also i did find the insurances extremely nice so it feels like having an Amex of sorts but compared to the AMEX rates it is ok. And the best part of course is the currency exchange. However i think as it is not an Italian IBAN, you still need a normal italian bank account. For this i recommend Unicredit as it is the biggest bank, i opened up in Ubi banca first but meh, Intesa too expensive, settled for Unicredit, which its major advantage is there is one in every corner and perhaps that it is too big to fail kinda.... Disclaimer: I own some Unicredit stock.
Hey Hector, I was hoping you would have something to say as I know you've looked a lot into banking here. I almost never have a specific situation where having an Italian IBAN is ncesary but I've been looking into it. This is actually something I want to speak about in a future video. But I don't know if I agree with Unicredit being too big to fail. You'll have to let me know how you like having the metal card, I'm considering when I upgrade that I might upgrade to that one. but for now the base account is perfect for my needs.
@@RafaelDiFuria Well, lets wait till i get it. Its supposed to arrive monday, if you want i can make a little video showing it... Regarding the Italian IBAN, ive encountered situations specially in the vodafone, tim, etc.. They request that the IBAN must be italian in some stores. I think this is illegal though. Another thing why i prefer to have an Italian IBAN at least as main account is because you then can get a normal "credit card" and with it start getting all the normal services. For me this is mostly a niche market card, at least in italy, in Germany is probably a main account. HOWEVER that doesnt mean it is not a superb option. You get to have the best currency rates, only one similar is transferwise´s, but also you get to have the good insurance.. I mostly did it because of the insurance, as i already had the Transferwise card, also you get some Metal Promotions. Oh, also i forgot, the card is made of metal, so you kind of get some little bit of showing off for the people that likes it...
@@RafaelDiFuria Also speaking about Unicredit too big to fail. If the italian goverment supports small banks, be sure they will support a bank like Unicredit or Intesa. Also a good thing about Unicredit is it also has assets in healthy economies like Austria.
@@KaratePath Is this the same when I went to recharge my TIM sim through their app and it would not accept my US credit card. I had to use my Italian bank debit card.
to be perfectly open about the situation, even though I still love this option, I ended up switching to a different bank because I needed a local bank for direct debit charges that weren't through a card to come directly out of the bank.
