I'm not sure if you were referring to the gel around when you said "clear eggs", but that's completely normal. The eggs going bad likely isn't a fertilization issue though, probably not enough vitamin A. Try dusting with it twice a month, that should fix it.
If I remember right (someone correct me if I'm wrong) wild dart frogs will lay unfertile eggs in a pool of water with the tadpoles in order to provide the tadpoles with a source of food. I don't know about in your setups if this is what is going on, but it is a possibility.
When do you suggest they will be ready to leave the water? I have one that’s grown all its limbs but still has a tail. Do they completely absorb their tail before they are ready to leave the water?
If they are in a 32 oz deli cup prop the cup up at an angle. The frog with climb out on its own. after it stays out for a while put it in the grow out tank. Thats what i did anyway.
Great vid as always. I find that routine maintenance with young animals relaxing, as well. I have no ideas about the live stream though. I love everything you do. 😊
Lower the humidity a little bit for a month and do feedings separated with more time in between. After the month go back to normal feeding a and mist 4 times a day should fix the egg problem.
I didn't see a lid over the tadpoles. I had a tadpole once when I was a kid. It jumped out while I was sleeping, and when I got up in the morning, I stepped on the tadpole and it squished in between my toes.
@@MikeTytula i've been sucsessd by having 2 bumblebee, but they founded has growth as a tadpoles not longer an eggs, the parents carrying them,. i have a couple times got the fertilized eggs but always fail before they grot to tedpoles
Great vid! Would this work for retf tadpoles too? I've breed red eyes b4 but kept the tadpoles in a large 20 gallon and they basically all died. I learned a lot from that experience though and will change what i do in the future.
Nice setup and vid Mike. About the clear eggs, I have read that some species of frog benefit from a simulated season change so they can recouperate. Not sure if this is something your frogs need tho.
I want a medium sized lizard maybe 2-3 feet long max. I want something that's really mellow and decile and that tolerates being handled. I was looking at a blue tonged skink but idk if there's some other lizards that are like this. also I've had 3 bearded dragons in the past so I'm not looking for one of those. any ideas?
Hey Mike, thanks for the info on tadpole care. should i separate all the eggs into individual petri dishes? do you use tadpole tea still or do you just throw the leaf straight into the container?
@@MikeTytula okay kind of like troys setup he made a video on. another question for the drain layer on my exo terra how exactly do you drain the water out if you are using an egg crate? do i just drill into the front to make a drain tap?
do you have to raise the tadpoles yourself or can you just have them grow up in the tank? cause mine laid their eggs in one of my plants and i feel like ill either hurt my tadpole once they hatch or ill have to damage my plant (which ill do if i have to but i don't want to)
damn I miss having a cat, it's been 10 years now since mine died. I can't help but stare at Spike in the background.
Ya he's a little shit haha

No there are just clear egg sac with no middle, which would likely be fertilization, I dust Vit A once a week, so that shouldn't be the issue either.
check your temps that can cause issues..

I've always been highly intrigued by dart frogs. I still need to learn more before I get into owning some myself.
They are really cool little creatures that I would strongly recommend!
Mike, you really make me want to get into frogs! Will you do a video of the grow up tank? I'l love to see that!
I have a couple of the grow out tank, on the channel

Looks like you got an answer a couple years ago hahah
Funny that I am watching this on May 19 exactley 4 years later :P
That's crazy! haha

Appreciate it! But not a lot of help hahah! Thanks for watching you have watched pretty much everything I put out!

Hmmm solid suggestion!
grate video

Crazy
bro, any suggest about the temperature rooms for the tadpoles? im still researching is it better warm or Air conditional rooms.. thanks
I just kept them room temp about 74º

i want some auratus but I don't want to raise froglets. Will the eggs still hatch in my tank or will they die if I leave them in there?
If you provide a permanent source of water they will likely raise their own, if not the eggs will just die
@@MikeTytula hey thanks for the response =)
I have bromeliads, will those have enough water for the tadpoles to survive?
Depends if they dry out or not haha
is there a specific reason you seperate them? or would they all be okay in 1 larger tank together?
REduce competition.
Some are cannibalistic
Thanks
You're welcome
grow out set up please
What store did you get it
Get what?
How do the frog pick up their tadpoles on their Backs?
Also doesn't that tadpole, frog food have meat in it? I thought tadpoles were vegetarians and don't have the ability to digest meat
It depends on the species of tadpole. Some are carnivores, or omnivores, while others are herbivores.
leopard gecko care and setup video?
Should be happening soon enough :)
Hi Mike
Can you please tell me what you use to cover a 20g long aquarium that I setting up for dard frogs.
I would use a piece of glass
Great vid! Would this work for retf tadpoles too? I've breed red eyes b4 but kept the tadpoles in a large 20 gallon and they basically all died. I learned a lot from that experience though and will change what i do in the future.
I don't think this is suitable for RETF
Some frog species lay unfertilized eggs to feed their young. Maybe thats why?
Ya but there is nothing in them, like the frogs don't eat the jelly.
Someone was saying that if your frogs aren't laying right to supplement with vitamin A once a month.
I supplement with Vit A, thanks though :)
Nice setup and vid Mike. About the clear eggs, I have read that some species of frog benefit from a simulated season change so they can recouperate. Not sure if this is something your frogs need tho.
That's Oophaga. With an Auratus, I'd suspect vit a deficiency

giotrip6 I would say blue tongued skinks are the way to go
giotrip6 get a rock iguana
A BTS is likely a good choice however you could look at other skink species that may be cheaper.
Really depends on your budget and the space that you have available.
uromastyx lizards are also a good but can be a little expensive and depending on the species hard to care for.
Do you put the lids back on the containers? Are their air holes or do they evaporate too much?
No lids at all
Hi from Liverpool UK 🇬🇧 Great advice
Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoyed!
Great video. What kind of light do you give the tadpoles - anything special?
Nothing they are in an unlit rack self
Can I add any type of aquatic plants to their cups?
Of Course you could :)
do you change the indian almond leaves during the 3 months?
If they are eaten then yes
Vit a
ya
I live in a small flat and I want some think to breed that is not to big and take to much space have you got any ideas mike ?
Robert Nunley dart frogs are perfect for that! Breed pretty easy and you dont need a lot of space
OK thanks m8
The reason some eggs are clear is cause a jealous male or female ate them
I would need some papers or something to back that up.
Is this normal tap water? or distilled water
This is filtered to 0 TDS
How much temperature for dart frog in enclosure or vivarium ??
Just room temp, 75ºF
Mike Tytula okaayy thank you so much...
Where petshop have dart frog frog ??
And what you have website for them ??
Do you have Dart frogs for sale?
None currently I have sold most of them.
Hey Mike, thanks for the info on tadpole care. should i separate all the eggs into individual petri dishes? do you use tadpole tea still or do you just throw the leaf straight into the container?
I just throw the leaf in there. Now I would honestly just keep all the tads together with a little filter or something on them.
Hey Mike! so like a small fish tank with a filter should suffice?
Ya or even a low tupperware tub!
@@MikeTytula okay kind of like troys setup he made a video on. another question for the drain layer on my exo terra how exactly do you drain the water out if you are using an egg crate? do i just drill into the front to make a drain tap?
You can drill or you can just do the egg crate and leave a spot to siphon
Great video, ty Mike!
Thanks for watching!
crested gecko update.
Yes soon haha
will you make that video
What video??
Are you still selling dart frogs?
I have some Azureus available
How much are they going for? And thank you for your reply.....
👌👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I wish I had a frog but I feel like my mom is gonna say no
BUT THEY ARE SO CUTE!!!
Show her the cutest frog you can find, and prove to her that you are able to take care of a frog :) That will be your best chance honestly
Why don't you just setup a 10 gallon aquarium with a filter ?
Sometimes they don't do well in groups.
do you have to raise the tadpoles yourself or can you just have them grow up in the tank? cause mine laid their eggs in one of my plants and i feel like ill either hurt my tadpole once they hatch or ill have to damage my plant (which ill do if i have to but i don't want to)
Depends what kind of frogs you have.
i got bumble bee's
So the tadpoles dont need filters like fish do? Do they need to be heated the same as adults, or would room temp be fine?
They do fine with filters but they don’t need it, you just have to change the water once a week like fish
