This is a traditional way of butchering a carabao by the ancient Ifugao tribe. But the men did a poor job of doing it. It was suppose to be a one hit kill. One guy should cut the neck while the second guys cut the spine to immobilise the animal.
In my hometown there are two ways and both are very quick. Hit the nerve behind the neck with a deep stab from a special knife. That process is done only be experienced butchers because someone with unsteady hand and misses the artery results into violent reaction. If properly struck the carabao would stiffened for less than a second and fell down. The second way is hit the head with an ax. This requires a big strong person. When there are no expert butchers or big man the last recourse is tying up the feet and head and slash the throat. It's bad but not as bad as this one. This is torture.
It doesn't matter if it culture idgaf stop using culture for killing and torturing animals even if they did kill it quickly it's still wrong you can't justify killing animals and just because it's been happening for hundreds of years already it still wouldn't be ok killing is never ok never ok and never will be okay
