You missed showing the best part of the shooting range. If you win all ten rounds of it, you get the shotgun extremely early in the game. It's freakin' HARD, but a great boon if you can pull it off.
I think I have something worth seeing. Before you start to fight with Aaron use 'astral' and after you cross the wall you can see the same (a little distant) location. The diffrence is that Aaron's body lies there, normally the body is supported by a hook. It looks like it was previous location to fight.
The easter eggs are as good as the game, just a brilliant game with creepy and intense atmosphere, one of the best atmospheres I've seen in a videogame, along with Nightmare Creatures, C-12: The Final Resistance and Silent Hill
When I was younger, I really loved the location with the green hills, and I searched all over it. I didn't know about any easter eggs back then and I found the secret with the giant sheep on my own when I ran back and forth across the wooden ceiling of the barracks for too long. It was a pure shock, I really shat bricks then xDDD

all in all yes, but at times (Oneiros, the end boss....) it got too fantasy-like and wasn't really scary anymore

You'd expect greater degree of creativity from David, considering he's a game developer and all, for naming his son Dave.
