He had such a fantastic voice. I think Australia was the best place in the world, in the 1980s, for radio. We were exposed to US, UK and the numerous Australian acts that were every bit as good.
He only recorded two pop albums and when this album didn’t sell as well as the first he took a long break and recorded a couple of jazz albums which went largely unnoticed. Then theres been seemingly nothing for 30 years since. Then he just vanished. A real waste of talent
Love this track - so catchy, and such an early 80s feel. A different time and in many ways better. Also love how in those days lots of great songs incorporated an orchestra or violin etc. Sadly, they don't make music like this anymore.
I'm not Asian but I dug - in 1981 as 15 yo - an asian looking chap having a hit record ! He's got a little Philly soul happenin' here too, horns/ strings etc. Great song @
At the end it looked like the chick was pissing herself laughing and trying to contain it. Great song, remember hearing it on the radio when I was knee high to a grasshopper.
Billy is a legend of Australian music. Still going at 71.
We love you Billy just like Jimmy.
