Georgie is more of a man than the criminals who get bit by these dogs at work. He took that bite in stride and kept on training with calm assertive composure. What a pro. Great job everyone.
Just found your videos. I love them! I am no professional trainer like you or your son, but this video is helping me understand that calm, consistent training means everything when training dogs. Your son handled himself very well with the dog, and you and your wife are raising a great young man.
This father and son team is amazing. First of all, the son is extremely mature for being 14 years old and to be able to patiently listening to any kind of constructive criticism that his father throws at him like a champ. His father is also very fair to his son in applauding him by highlighting what he has done well. I'm so impressed by this father-son duo who is working hard to pass on the father's knowledge of being a master dog handler to his youngest son. What a wonderful family you have. :-)
I’m so impressed with George’s progress and patience with the dogs and with Stonnie and the stressful situation of not only learning to run the family business and expand and evolve it, but doing it while on RUclips with his family present in view and judgement of everybody. What a real man! What a display of confidence and skill and humility. I’m so in love with this channel and Stonnie’s legacy❣️
My Malinois was impulsive until I tough her to focus on balancing a stick on her nose. First for a couple seconds then worked up to over a minute sitting with a stick on her nose without movement. This exercise taught her to focus her energy with self control and what could be misunderstood as patience. Anyway she is now totally on target and attentive.
I really empathize with Stonnie while also getting a nice belly laugh while watching the changing of the guard and the attempt to relax while doing it 😅
I really love how you break it down to the basics of the breed and the expectations of the breed. I see so many make the mistake of expecting every breed getting the same training and end up frustrated. I always say know your breed well, know what they are bred to do and how to work with that. Love watching your videos as we all learn from each other. Amazing work
Your son stayed calm, didn’t raise his voice and he continued on after the dog ‘caught him.’ Very impressive. A few inches to the left and he could have nearly lost his “Crown Jewels!” No wonder his Mum was not happy, could have ruined a dynasty! Seriously though, his perseverance is admirable, many would have stopped after receiving that wound.
I am learning so much. I appreciate watching George have the same learning curve I have had with my Malinoise. George is going to be a great dog trainer. He is so patient and self-controlled under pressure.
Good job Georgie! I really enjoy watching you train these dogs because your dad just makes it look too easy so it’s nice to see some reality when you are not too experienced with these particular dogs. I see more of the real troubles I will have to deal with, even though you have way more experience than I do. I’m not only being taught what the dog will do, but also what I need to do when I screw up time and time again, and that with practice we all win if we stay patient and confident. Thanks so much for being a good example.
George, I am so impressed by your calmness, especially during her lunging and biting you. It must have hurt a lot and you didn’t flinch, nor get mad at her. You also have grown in your confidence and training level, even up from the first video last week to this second video a week later into her training. Thoroughly enjoy and am learning a lot from these videos. Thanks for sharing your progress with us -
What a pleasure it is to see Georgie coming off age in dad’s line of work. Thank you - thank you, for including us in your family story. Keep up the excellent work. Looking forward to #3
Georgie you are one brave kid... Despite the fact that he has a master trainer as his dad, i can see he has all the qualities to grasp the knowledge, experience and to become an eminent dog trainer... All the best Georgie...👍✌️
What an impressive young dog trainer! George's increased confidence from week 1 to week 2 shows what a great future he has (certainly due to the training he gets from his parents). His calmness under pressure is commendable; you can always buy new shorts but some things are priceless!
Thank you for showing how to train with a high energy dog. Very informative and useful. And to George, you are a really kind lad to let us watch and learn from your video, even though the dog accidentally tear up your shorts or almost got you there, you still keep it cool and continue on! Great job and you are the man!
George you did a great job not just a good job but you did a great job and Dad you two are doing a great job and teaching your boy the right way on how to train a dog
I still love watching these old videos especially with you and George. He was very talented even then. I get a bit more depth that maybe I forgot or haven’t done in a while as I watch again.
Good job Georgie! I had anxiety watching you training Lexi, (she is very quick) but you did great! She definitely is a handful and you handled yourself very well! I love watching the progression of both the dogs and you as a trainer! Another very informative video. I am a dog trainer myself and these dogs are special and not for the faint hearted. Your dad is an amazing dog trainer and I look forward to watching you both!
This is one of the best suggestions youtube has given me! I have a German Koolie who has confounded me. After watching these two weeks with Georgie...I now understand my dog better. I also have some wonderful tools to use so that I can be a more effective communicator. I particularly appreciate the session using the long-line, as I have physical challenges to overcome. I've paid so much blood price, from this dog who's so easily frustrated, that I was about to give up on him....and myself. Thank you so very much, to you, Georgie and your camera man (Mom) for sharing this real life training with us. We all learn from our mistakes. Thank you for allowing me to learn through yours.
It’s awesome to see George’s confidence growing more and more. And he took that bite like a champ, didn’t even flinch. Would love to see an update on his progression. Thanks for the content Uncle Stonnie!
This is the best channel I have found for extensive, explicit training in these dogs. It’s the best background knowledge building for those of us trying to not shock like whoa or give treats like whoa. I appreciate you training your son on video because it helps us newbie training adults w intelligent shepherds who may not need a million treats.
Man, many and much thanks gentlemen for taking the time to film this series and putting it out there for the world. So underrated. And of course thanks camera mom! :)
I love this because you don’t edit out anything and let us see it how it is. It’s very difficult to train those dogs. I admire your son. He does a great job 👏
Love the way you present this channel and George is a super star. He is amazing for his age and the way he adapts and learns each session is amazing. Obviously an intelligent young man who will only grow and develop to be outstanding! What a team!
Dang Georgie! Your hand cupping skills are on point! Goose is almost on a focused heel on the course! She pushes her nose in very nicely 👌 My mal goes teeth first not nose first. Great job dude!
Glad to have labs. Wow! Georgie, you are a brave and intelligent boy. I'm glad the dog didn't hurt you. I love that method of teaching retrieve. I may use it next time I have a young lab to train. Mine two will be 4 in October, so it will be a couple or three years yet before we get another. Thank you all for such great videos.
I can’t say how much I am loving this series! Georgie you are doing so fantastic! It is amazing the progress you have made in a week. I would love if you would let us in on the number of hours you put in during 1 week. I had the EXACT same injury that Stonnie showed on his ankle from the long line and it has taught me very well to have that line out of the way! This helps me so much in knowing that when things aren’t going right, it’s just a mistake out of the way and I’m on to making good repetitions. Thank you so much!! Keep up the great work Georgie and Stonnie!
Truly thankful for your videos, you explain so much more about dutch n mals than any other trainer videos that I've seen. I've watched so many training videos but you have answered more than them. 😃
This experience is teaching George so much more than “just” how to train protection dogs. I am able to watch him grow and develop as a trainer in parallel fashion to the dogs. I do not have kids but I take work as a Nanny. What I don’t tell my clients is that one of the reasons I’m good with their children is because I use many of the techniques and attitudes that have helped me train my dogs. I originally learned these by how I was raised by my grandmother. (I’m not saying kids are equal to dogs- it’s just that the very basic behavior management has a lot of similarities). Some examples include making sure they have a lot physical activity; respect is one of the most important qualities in the relationship; recognizing rewarding good behavior is more important than punishing bad behavior; following rules and guidelines may not be fun at the moment but they lead to the ability to have even more fun in the long run; boisterous, joyful playing should often be tolerated- on the other hand, quiet play is also important; each child is different and no one is perfect, no one can be “anything” they want if they just work hard, but we all can be the best versions of ourselves- we are bounded by our genetics, the education we receive, and quality of our teachers (parents, teachers, community members); a quality, structured environment will teach a lot in itself; isolation and lack of socializing will lead to behavioral and psychological anxiety and fear; good, stable peers/playmates and mentors are essential; behaviors and skills need to be structured for success and mistakes are usually not the fault of the child; instructions/requirements must reasonable and allow for success; everyone moves at they own pace, just because someone is slower does not mean they aren’t as “good” as the others; the goal is to have them be able to regulate their own behavior without being micromanaged; yelling and aggression are not necessary for correction; most skills require much practice and to keep doing that until it is mastered; the more distractions, the more difficult the task; just to be oneself, polite to others, listen to wise instructors and simply enjoy life is invaluable; being able to settle and quiet down is important; know when you need to ask for help with teaching from others; you need to be a leader and exhibit the qualities you expect of them; the end goal is just a loving, rewarding relationship and helping one to have the opportunity to work hard, play hard, rest well, and have a good life.
I don’t know how I found your channel but I’m so glad I did. I have a Dobermann who is very hard work. I avoid playing fetch, tug, flirt pole etc as I always get bitten and jumped on. Her prey drive is through the roof and she has zero impulse control. I will definitely be following your training methods from now on.
I want to thank you for these videos. I'm currently waiting for my Belgian Malinois to be born. I watch these videos over and over. My wife thanks George for showing her how to be better prepared for training our pup. Best wishes George, you are becoming an excellent handler, Your Master Instructor is super knowledgeable.
I started watching this because I like malinois dogs. I really appreciate this series I'd videos. I know I am and am often told I over-explain everything and I looove seeing the entire drawn out process of training from this basics all the way to the end. Keep up the great content!
George is doing a great job. I wound up putting knots in my long line at various points. That helped so much. Keep these videos coming. I still need to review the next ones. I am doing them as I train. Great stuff!😊
George - great job keeping clear of the rope as well as calm with the dog! If it isn't one, it's the other! Thank you for letting us watch and learn with you.
Happy belated father's day stonnie. You have beautiful children and you must be so proud. It's a pleasure to watch you do what you do as a family. I love the shepherds. I have used your videos to help raise a wonderful gsd mal puppy these last few months. Thank you
I have a 2 year old Dutch/ German Shepherd .. I’m 67 mom/ grand mom.. she is exhausting me and my husband and this video is such help for me.. I’ve wondered what’s “wrong “ with her and now I see it’s her owner( me).. thank you! Had no idea it’s the Dutch trait .. and my reactions have been making her worse.. we rescued her from a bad situation .. not like our previous German Shepherd ! Thank you and George!! Great video!
I am close to your age so I was to encourage you in what you are doing. Find activities you can do together like hiking or taking the dog with you wherever you go. She wants your attention
Absolutely amazing. Best training video I have ever seen. Thank you, liked, subbed, shared. I was one of those who thought u were a little tough on G, I was wrong - you two have an amazing relationship, a pleasure watching your vids. Must watch from Ep 1!
Thank you for another great lesson what a great father son and mum relationship cheeky wee girl great for a young brave man no fear can't wait to see the fab team they will become
Excellent excellent presentation. I enjoyed watching George how to do it how to work his dog.I'm glad every time you told him to watch the long line because it's too easy to trip If he wasn't paying attention. I hope you do more of these types of videos showing him as he progresses.
I love these videos. I am one who is pretty fortunate to have a well behaved Cane Corso and I look like a master trainer walking down the road with him loose leash or (not totally) off leash heeling. George is a champ for taking that bite and not letting on. I'm twice his age and would probably complain about it for days. This has got to be my favourite youtube series right now.
Thank you for your hard work and your professional expertise. A new fan. My son will be learning from you and your boy. In fact, all 3 of us will be learning from you.
I appreciate and love what y’all are doing so much! I’ve been watching for a few months now and I’ve seen a great number of your videos and others and this is still my favorite dog training channel! I’ve really been wanting to see more Dutch Shepherd from y’all so I’m so happy that George is learning this. He learns so fast and really puts a lot of patience and effort into this. I’m so proud of George for continuing the family business. I hope some day he can help train me and my Dutch Shepherd when I get it. Thank you so much for what you do and for all the content on this channel! 🙏
I give G a lot of credit. Things look much different than the last video. AND honorable mentions to Stonnie, who is retraining G to handle a different level of dog, retraining two bread for protection/attack dogs, being a dad and professional trainer, and changing the mindset of an audience, lastly your wife for holding it together at the scary parts of the training. Simply awesome and amazing family!!
Calm, attentive and polite George is a trooper for sure so fortunate to have such a mom. I think Stonnie's goal posts are like check your pulse before you tap. : )
I just found your channel and I am so impressed! Both Stonnie and George are incredible. I'm learning so much about training working dogs. I especially appreciate that nothing is edited out. Seeing the mistakes and the real nature of these breeds is rarely shared, especially by people who make a living training and selling them as PPD's. I am truly grateful for your content and for George being willing to capture this learning process and sharing it with the rest of us. Beyond that, I really appreciate the sage advice and training tips. Thank you and please continue to create raw content like this 👍😁
Stonnie, I am not familiar with the challenges of training mals, but I am very impressed with both you and George working together. Love to see your gentle way of teaching him! George, very well done!
Excellent Georgie! I get almost as much as you do from these training videos with your dad. (I currently do not have dogs, I am prepping for my next dogs.) You are becoming an outstanding dog trainer. Very well done.
Well done George! The rig did a great job of giving you that leverage on the dog, and you showed great poise and strength of will when you needed it most. As your dad tells the dogs: "You a fine animal"... well (George) "You a fine young man."
My point to learning from other trainers, that slow down behavior worked really well. I have a Bouvier, very high energy, instead of laying down, she pounces down because laying down is too slow for her. Just turned 3 and now she is showing Personal Pertection Dog behavior. She did it just like the dogs you see fully trained on RUclips. She herded them back to their truck while I was doing a Beaver Removal job. She called off quickly, came to me and laid down in front of me, with no training at all. Now I feel an urgency to give he formal training before she escalates to a bite on her own. I need full control over when and when not to bite.
Thank you for the great video! I just adopted a 7 month old Belgian malinois. Looking forward to watching your other videos. Great job too Georgie!! Keep training!!!
Georgie, great improvement. I was very impressed how u took the bite & kept going. Some people would lash back. I admire that you didn’t. Dad definitely get a cup. That dog already knows a man’s weak spot. Plus the whistle hanging is another tempting item to grab. Mom, good job for not making him quit. I was trying to focus in on that bite.
1:10:50 "All she really wants is access to the item, and she doesn't mind being rude to you but being rude to you is not her primary objective." This is SUCH a potent lesson for people who are trying to figure out dogs like this. We've got a Swiss White Shepherd, she's also a bundle of energy and drive, but a bit toned done compared to a mali. She also has this tendency. As I said, it's toned down, so she does (kinda) mind being rude to you, but when training her, when correcting her, it's so, so important to know what she's actually doing, and not just what she appears to be doing.
George, you’re drinkin’ from a firehouse, and your instructor is such a MEAN master instructor!! :-). Excellent teamwork and training. You’re off to an EXCELLENT start.
thank you so much for these videos! We are getting a Dutch/German/Malinois in April and I have a feeling I have my work cut out for me! I seriously wish you were closer! Georgie is greatly improving, and this helps us new people see what we need to do! Glad he is ok, hopefully you are out of the dog house!
George has impressive skills, and such great confidence and composure (which show in particular at 1:13:11 !). (He keeps his focus, doesn't flinch, and stays with the task at hand.) A strong, stalwart, resolute lad. Dad and Mom must surely be so proud.
This the KIND! Keep em coming! Saving up some dough to fly overseas and visit you for some dog-lectures one of these days, Stonnie! George doing better by the minute. Daddys calm rubbing of on both the boy and the dog, good stuff.
Great job Georgie! Takes a special something at your age to stay until the task is done even after getting bit and understanding the risk. You’re going to be a phenomenal protection dog trainer!
Georgie is more of a man than the criminals who get bit by these dogs at work. He took that bite in stride and kept on training with calm assertive composure. What a pro. Great job everyone.
you said it better then I could. 100%
What do you mean? When (in the video) does he gets bitten? Thank you.

Just found your videos. I love them! I am no professional trainer like you or your son, but this video is helping me understand that calm, consistent training means everything when training dogs. Your son handled himself very well with the dog, and you and your wife are raising a great young man.

Thanks to your son for letting us watch him learn! It’s incredibly helpful to hear your criticisms and see how he applies them. Loving this series
Agreed!
Agreed, big shoutout. Not easy. 👏

You're like the Bob Ross of dog training, awesome.
I've had that same thought many times.
Exactly
It's probably all those happy trees in the background.
It's a happy accident 😉
Great Father and Son relationship. Wonderful to see the respect you have for each other. George has a great teacher and is an attentive student.
Thank you!
Please do more of these types of videos! They're so informative, can't thank you enough!
Who else would love to see George make some short "Quick Tip" videos on what he's learned so far? ❤
This is not a video about dog training. This IS a video about the love of a father. Very well done.
I’m so impressed with George’s progress and patience with the dogs and with Stonnie and the stressful situation of not only learning to run the family business and expand and evolve it, but doing it while on RUclips with his family present in view and judgement of everybody. Yes Amen to that.
I just rescued a Malinois with zero impulse control. Watching this now, thank you!

Great work George! Thank you for being a part of helping us learn how to handle these challenging 'good dogs'!
I started training my dogs seriously 20-some years ago when I was 30... I WISH someone taught me when I was 13. Great job.
(New subscriber). Thx!
Thank you bud critiquing someone how to train dogs you are one of the best dog trainer they got

George is doing a fabulous job. You are blessed with a wonderful family
Yippee!! So excited for this series. I ordered the Remington dummies from the first episode to train mine with also.
You and your wife are incredible parents, great job! Your son is doing an amazing job, thank you for producing these videos, awesome!!
Great video series. Please keep them going as long as you can. Already picked up so many little tips along the way.
Happy belated father's day stonnie. You have beautiful children and you must be so proud. It's a pleasure to watch you do what you do as a family. I love the shepherds. I have used your videos to help raise a wonderful gsd mal puppy these last few months. Thank you
Thank you for watching!
You're a great father and mentor to your kid its cool to watch. stayup.
George IS A TROOPER!
Loving this long line technique. Great for anyone.
I wanted to give George a high five when he was retrieving with Goose. So fun to watch trainer and dog growing together. Great video.
Excellent Georgie! I get almost as much as you do from these training videos with your dad. (I currently do not have dogs, I am prepping for my next dogs.) You are becoming an outstanding dog trainer. Very well done.
Georgie is a true BOSS!! You go young man, good job!
Watching you work both the dogs and your son is a great demonstration of firm and fair. Great vids Thank you
Well done George! The rig did a great job of giving you that leverage on the dog, and you showed great poise and strength of will when you needed it most. As your dad tells the dogs: "You a fine animal"... well (George) "You a fine young man."
Love the humor. very nice. Yes it helps to calm things down.
And I should say I was super impressed with his demeanor during and after the bite incident. Great job 👍
Beautiful there’s a whole playlist you guys are awesome 👏
Really great training videos, enjoy watching George work the Shepherds. Our GSD rescue is a work in progress.
Yess I love this series!
thank you so much for these videos! We are getting a Dutch/German/Malinois in April and I have a feeling I have my work cut out for me! I seriously wish you were closer! Georgie is greatly improving, and this helps us new people see what we need to do! Glad he is ok, hopefully you are out of the dog house!
George has impressive skills, and such great confidence and composure
(which show in particular at 1:13:11 !). (He keeps his focus, doesn't flinch,
and stays with the task at hand.) A strong, stalwart, resolute lad.
Dad and Mom must surely be so proud.
Love watching you and George training the dogs I have a belgium malinois and she is training me...I need help.....in Texas!!!
Love this series....can't wait for episode 3. I'm proud of George....Well Done You!!
This the KIND! Keep em coming! Saving up some dough to fly overseas and visit you for some dog-lectures one of these days, Stonnie! George doing better by the minute. Daddys calm rubbing of on both the boy and the dog, good stuff.
This is awesome, George is doing a great job and I'm so glad that you don't encourage pinch collars and shock collars. Great job
Hay stonnie, its Arye from Israel. I'm a dog trainer & this videos are great for those who instruct people. I'v never seen content like this. thanks
Great job Georgie! Takes a special something at your age to stay until the task is done even after getting bit and understanding the risk. You’re going to be a phenomenal protection dog trainer!
Wow, well done to both the teacher and the student! George is so attentive and eager to learn - very impressive! Really enjoying this series. 👍
