These are both great lists! I was doing the "author you've read five books by" meme, and I think A.M. Dellamonica (fantasy), C.L. Polk (also fantasy) & Jo Beverley (romance) were the only Canadian authors on the list, so I think I read a few books by a lot of people. Though Vermette will be on there once I've read Girl Called Echo. Solnit is so great!
@@justineetzkorn9594 I’m impressed anytime I hear that someone has read 5 books or more by a single author. Tara is great at that! Looking forward to your impression of Echo. I especially loved learning the history of that region. What have you read of Solnit? She is fierce!!
@@canadareadsamericanstyle Solnit does essay collections, mostly, so aside from stuff I've seen online I've read Call Them By Their True Names, Men Explain Things to Me, and Orwell's Roses (all of which are 4-5 star reads). I'd like to read several more of her books like Paradise Built in Hell, and Not Too Late (which she edited).
Totally agree about Wayne Arthurson, Ann-Marie MacDonald and Helen Humphreys. Of course LM Montgomery. 😊💙
@@BookwormAdventureGirl Any specific recommendations for MacDonald and Humphreys? I’m looking forward to reading both.
@ Fall on Your Knees and The Way the Crow Flies for MacDonald. The Lost Garden and Coventry by Humphreys.
@@BookwormAdventureGirl thanks!
