My wife loves Blue October so much and I have to say this is really a great song. She listen's to Blue October all day long. Y'all have her hooked. No joke!! Had to give this a Thumbs Up for sure.
So many of us are hooked and there is a really good reason for that. I have never gone so crazy over a band as quickly as I did for them. I have every CD and in a couple cases, where my name is in the liner notes for donating I have multiple copies (I bought 20 copies of SWAY!). Now, I tell Alexa to 'play Blue October music, and I have hours worth of great music.

She has an emotional connection to their lyrics, myself I found blue October as I fell in love and out of love alll while struggling with chemical dependency. If your as open with your wife as you are on here she may need you to be there for her emotionally, please don’t get mad I could be completely wrong but most of us struggle with something is why we connect. Just a little bit from nobody.
I'm in tears this song hits so close to home. Unfortunately sometimes "on the edge of a blue sky" means ending one chapter and starting another even if the love is still there for that person.

I'm six months sober this month and I've learned so much about myself and relearned how to love again my wife and I marriage is alot healthier and I've learned how to open up and communicate with her we can talk for hours and have a normal conversation I'm thankful to have this beautiful music by Justin and Blue October it helped me in so many ways shapes and forms I was fortunate to have met Justin In corpus Christi TX at the boat house on the island thank you Justin for your beautiful heart n soul you pour through these songs.

I love the brilliance of the simplicity of this video. Just one shot or angle that never changes, and the fact that it doesn't have to is beautiful. Such a great counter to all the fast cut jerky edit videos we are constantly bombarded with due to a shortening of attention span. I imagine as he is sitting there, this whole song is going on in his head, in his thoughts. How many of you have ever just sat at a window gazing out for a long while with a tumble of thoughts pouring through your mind? Yeah, me too.

I have always seen the best part of someone, ignoring the bad, because I'm not perfect, either. But that's what gets me in trouble. If I love the good, I just accept the BAD with it. It seems like it's ,y curse. The kind of men I find attractive in THEIR good, seem to have too much or to extreme bad. 35yrs, 2 marriages and several long-term relationships, but the one man that I FELT ever truly loved me, after 15yrs, as he lies dying of cancer, says he should have married me. That was 6 yrs ago, he hid his illness from me, UNTIL he was so sick and skeletal, I couldn't take care of him anymore. One week later, he died in the hospital. My world is gone and for 3yrs I'VE been getting sicker, weaker and this year I found out that I have a genetic immune disease, nerves dying, my vertebrae in my neck are pressing on the outer sheath of my spinal cord, doc says one hard jerk, I'm paralyzed or dead. Arthritis and degenerative disk disease, and sleepwalking disorders that breathing in my sleep is so shallow, I don't get enough oxygen and my brain, heart, kidneys and liver are suffering damage. I wake up in A-FIB, should have died a hundred times by now. That's what I live for, asking God to take me home. Why am I still HERE? No friends, only family that cares is mom, I don't want to go until she does. It would hurt her so bad. But with all the issues twisting together, I won't have to be on this sin-sick, dying world, too much longer. Too many axes hanging over my head. Last time I lay in the hospital as they tried to keep my heart beating, I told them, DON'T REVIVE ME, I prayed for Jesus to take me, I felt and heard ALL sounds pulling away quickly, but I thought of my mom and kid neices, I said , not yet, I don't want to leave them yet. Everything rushed back, but next time, I'm going to let go, I can't stand it here, I'm in constant pain, losing strength and feeling in my arms and legs, eyesight, no life I can live. Just 10 yrs ago, I was working, happy, healthy and I thanked God for every day. I miss me, I STILL only love one now gone, I don't get to see my neices, I know my brother and family think I'm weird. He doesn't want me to be alone with his girls, even though they tell me their secrets because they trust me. But EVEN my 2 boys told me 10 yrs ago, they no longer want to be with me, that I'm not the SAME person who I was, I don't even know WHETHER they're alive or dead. So much loss, so little life.... thanks for your words, it's good to know that there's still good people, even though I can't find them, in my darkness.

Long-term relationships can be so hard at times.. This song (like all your others) hits so deep! 6 years together, 5 years soder and 2 kids of our own. I love my man and our life, but damn it can be so hard at times. Especially coming from the other side when you're significant other watches you break down and walks away, that's the most alone feeling in the world.. The part "we forgot how to communicate" is so real, and such a hard thing to overcome. I though getting off heroin was hard, but trying to maintain a healthy relationship and healthy family, that's hard! There really is no greater reward though, your song "home" describes it perfectly. It's a difficult neverending battle, but don't give up. Family is such a beautiful thing to have.. Thank you for such a real and heartfelt song, It touched my soul.. 💕

I am so so happy to re-discover Blue October! It's been about 14 years or so. I am REALLY REALLY loving what I am finding that I've missed out on. Its so cool how much we've all grown and changed, physically, spiritually, lyrically... The first time I heard Blue October, it was 2004, I was 31 and those lyrics were speaking to me! My husband committed suicide (said his goodbyes, took a bunch of pills, and went out into the ocean) in 2004. He was a drug addict. Blue October's song "Into the Ocean" was like being played everywhere at that time. It was very hard to listen to (duh!) but it introduced me to Blue October. I became a little obsessed, tbh, with the music they were putting out at the time. It was painfully healing(?) for me and got me through many nights of rumination. A LOT of it was about drug addiction, but not necessarily about the drug addict, more like concerning the emotional soup that everyone involved with drug addiction is swimming in. Family, children, friends, lovers... Drug addiction is murky and complicated and impacts so many lives. Now I'm turning 50.and re-discovering this band and I'm loving them all over again!
I am rediscovering them too I've got 3 yrs sober Nov 4 of 19 just 22 days before lost Love of 21 yrs Nov 26 and between being suddenly Widowed at 42 n and trying to reconnect with family after isolating for two decades during the times I was on pain management but not getting help with emotional traumas it's all just raw and exhausting but also feel blessed and grateful for healing

My 24 year old nephew died just a month ago and I miss him so badly and I wish I could have reached him, and now that he’s left us behind those pictures in my mind are fading and it scares me... don’t wanna lose him twice.. I want to thank you Justin because you make me remember and feel him again.. he was having a hard time and could never decide to try to force him to stand or wait for it to pass and just be there.. now he’s dead and I guess I should have chosen a different path.. my sister raised us because my father passed at 9 years old and mom had to work because she had 7 kids.. my sister is to good a person for this fucked up world and deserved better... not this, oh my God not this.. he was wrong to leave her like that.. she loved to much and to deeply..

On another note in case anyone from the band ever reads this, thank you for the Any man in America Album. That album literally came out within 2 days of my first marriage ending. That was a dark time for me, and that was a dark album. And while I can’t say I’m proud of some of the thoughts and words I said at that time, (just like Justin has said about that album) I think I needed to feel those emotions because I hadn’t felt anything in years. The album helped me with that. It’s hard to go back and listen to now, but it was on point for me at the time.
The direction the band has been on since Sway has pretty much been on point with my life since, and I am thrilled for continued new music!

@@Gina77092 yes Gina, I am a Blue October fan!! I only discovered them when I listened to the Weatherman, it was the UTube recommendation that just popped up when I was listening to Coldplay maybe? When I listened to The Weatherman and then Dance In Time Justin and his amazing band reminded me of Coldplay. By any chance have you ever listened to any Coldplay music? Well their song Hypnotised from 2017, I actually never knew existed. In 2019 the song was a UTube recommendation but I kept ignoring it for about 2 weeks but it would disappear then reappear. Anyway I listened once twice OM goodness I played it on repeat for a considerable length of time! It's 2020 and I still listen because it reminds me of a time of positive transition from being haunted by Dementors ( Harry Potter demon) to my spirits lifting and soaring. "It was dark, now it's sunrise" line from lyrics of Hypnotised. I also love Fix You. Anyway I digress. I tried buying merch but they don't deliver to Australia!!!! I was so upset! I wanted to proudly show off my unisex Blue October t shirt😭😭 I have relatives in NY and Florida. Maybe I could deposit $$ in their account and they could purchase one on my behalf? I would be unique, unless of course an Aussie citizen had travelled to a concert, bought merch and proudly wore it back home. I could be a walking advertisement for Justin and his brother and fellow band members. I watched a live stream of them maybe 2 days ago (August 12?). Justin was strumming his guitar and creating potential lyrics and I was mesmerised!!! It's 5:05am here in Melbourne Australia 😊. Also check out Tufstrings also known as The Meeting Place Music. You can look for my channel Gina77092 and see a lot of videos of Ryan, the violinist in Blue October. They have not been able to travel to Australia because of the cost and they don’t have the fan base there like in other countries. I think it is hard to get the radio stations to play their music. This song put the feels on me so hard I literally broke down. Every word of this felt like a direct attack on me. I love my wife more than life itself, but I know sometimes I don't show it for shit. Every year we keep saying will be our year, and we'll get back on track, and each year is worse than the last. "We don't touch anymore." Literally arguments we have all the time. That I don't show her near her nearly enough physical attention. And I don't even realize I don't do it enough. But the part that struck me down was "Sometimes I watch you fall, and I just walk away. What is that bullshit, why do I do that?" Sometimes her emotional breakdowns are too much for me, and I can't bring myself to do anything but sit in the other room and stare at the wall while she cries, and suffers. I try, every day I try, but some days I just can't bring myself to be there for her the way she needs me, some days I run out of gas, and I just hang my head and do nothing. And my failure's resulted in her bleeding out in a hospital bed because of it. I knew she was suffering. I knew she went in the bathroom. I should have went in sooner. I should have been there sooner to stop her. But I do believe we're on the edge of a blue sky. Things will get better. I'll be better. She'll be better.

Ive been your wife. But I speak for many women, when I say that sometimes during all the yelling and arguing, sometimes even in just silence, just go up to her and hold her. Just genuinely hold her. Its your actions she is craving, not your words. We dont expect you to know what were going through, or to solve it, were just wired differently and women need to understand that a man cant read our minds, you guys just like us to tell u what we want. When we start to understand that, it becomes alot easier. Kuddos to you for recognizing what you failed to do in the past, it takes a man to change that. Best of luck to both of you.
