Love these one takes. Shows how you actually correct for common issues. Love how trex is getting behind competitive pistol shooting. It's the best way to get better fast
One side effect of practicing correctly is feeling like crap afterwards. Remember you’re improving yourself, focus on the mistakes and work to improve them.
Very refreshing to so someone show non A zone hits. It happens to the best shooters, such as this guy. Excellent video. Im so sick of watching dudes shoot and move and never see the targets. We all know their not all A zone hits. Thank you for your service.
The first time I drank Reign was when a coworker offered me one. Wanting to be polite, but not realizing how intense a drink they can be, I drank almost all of it within the span of 5-10 minutes as we conversed. Proceeded to get sweaty and nauseous from the sudden blast of caffeine, and had to seek water and fresh air afterwards.. so I completely understand, Brandon! Thanks for the video.
Always great to see what the training process looks like. Also helps a ton to hear what different people find has worked well for them. Thanks for doing this.
Love the video! Really enjoy seeing more videos around competition. Uspsa, idpa etc are such a great ways to expose your weaknesses and get better and be more involved in your local community.
Love the video! I did a similar video on my channel a couple weeks ago and I appreciate the fact that you showed mistakes and bad shots as I do the same. You can’t learn or teach people if everything always looks “perfect” well done Brandon can’t wait to see the progression in the future!
this was very well-done, an excellent introduction to training for USPSA. My one point of constructive criticism is that during the shooting-while-moving drills at the end, it appears as if the USPSA "180" rule would have been violated, had this been a stage at a USPSA match. However, I understand that the T-Rex Arms range allows for shooting in more directions than most simple berms, and I'm not in any way questioning what you did from a safety perspective. I think it might help new USPSA shooters to be briefly reminded about this important consideration.
Love this, was a reflection of myself most recently. But I don’t have an outdoor range so I am practicing at my matches. Thanks for this very informative and give me confidence.
Hi guys! Awesome video, I would love to see more of these. I have just 1 question: Can someone please tell me what's the camera setup for the POV footage? Thanks! 😊
20:39 I wouldn’t say that training within 10 yards is useless at all. It’s a very important (and challenging) skill to be able to stay relaxed and get consistent As when you’re running the gun literally as fast as you can. Shooting inside 10 yards is pointlessly easy if you do it while shooting like you’re 10 yards away.
He just GMd his last classifier, but it'll take a few more matches to see where he lands. Granted, he isn't a USPSA member so he won't have an official classification.
There are matches that I just suck at. As long as I can figure out my mistakes and I know what I need to work on it was a win. Some days the focus isn’t there or you’re distracted by new shooters while trying to ro/so.
I feel like you're doing too much. Hit doubles at different paces and distances, focusing on having your dot come straight back to the spot you're focusing on. It should go straight up, straight back down to that spot, not under or over. If it's diagonal, under, or over, your grip is wrong. My Own Defender and Ben Stoeger have good videos on this stuff. For transitions, do a variation of doubles with a paper target on each side of a plate rack or texas star, where you hit a pair on one target, one plate, pair, one plate, pair, one plate, etc. The key is not getting a third sight picture on your pair and just letting your body move the gun to your eyes. Finally, Track the A Zone at various distances and even with partials, no-shoots, etc. Working on smooth movement and finding a spot in the A zone after defeating a vision barrier. Use local matches to practice stage planning and execution, twice a month if possible, and every weekend leading up to majors. Once you get your M or G card, then start to adjust how you train accordingly, but until then you're better off hammering the basics until you can sleepwalk a solid A class performance.
Great Video! I really like the little camera angle on the baseball cap. Can y'all help what type of camera is that? And does the clip comes with it or is it and extra accessory? Thanks.
Paper GM is BS, either you are one or you aren't. Whether you earn the G card by winning Level 2 & 3 matches like Christian Sailer or whether you earn it by shooting locals with classifiers in the matches it is earned, and you are one. What I have encountered is folks that use the term "paper GM" probably won't ever get there and while that may not be the case with you, its been my experience here in MS where I shoot. With that said there are definitely different levels and the super squadders, like Brantley, Garran Singleton & John Vileiger to name a few, are on that level. If you have only shot 2 classifiers you are not classified at all yet. Your initial classification takes the average of your best 4 scores of the first 6 classifiers shot. After your initial classification then it's a rolling average of your best 6 scores of your 8 most recent.
I have to agree saying your GM, M without the proof in USPSA is blasphemy! When you sent rounds at targets with no clue of the dot was that’s not GM, M or A, B some of us train hard to get that classification level up. In all good stuff.
i wish i could enjoy the sport but that is a dream super far from being put to fruition so i just enjoy T-REX boys like Brandon and Lucas blaze it down on the range keep up the good work 💪💪🔥🔥
Really?! you’re not gonna give a shout out to Steve Anderson??? Your entire training curriculum is taken from his ideas and methods. Give the man his credit, he’s literally written the book on competitive shooting. Which you’ve clearly read from this video.
I dont usually comment on videos but this one impressed me so much I felt I had to. I like the matter of fact approach and that he is a very humble person. His little blurb at the end regarding dry fire and what a difference it makes struck a cord. I shoot irons and really need to improve on the accuracy front (too many Cs / Ds relative to my peers) so the occluded part interested means and is something I will try.
Great video. Problem I have is finding somewhere I could do any shooting remotely like this. The ranges around here are so limiting for liability reasons. I will have a place to shoot of my own next year but not anywhere this size and will still be somewhat limited. Will only be able to shoot in one direction.
My apologies. Go get your Uspsa on! If I can get out of building so much anytime soon I’ll be back at it myself. Amazing exercise in manual of arms and fun sport. Pcc was a fun addition.
25:00 shooting while moving, you shave off some time but lose a lot of points as well ( shooting minor). The no shoots and mikes just kill this stage here with a penalty and a miss ( -20) . You should calculate hit factors to see the differences in approach. Shooting while moving looks cool but most of the time isn’t that efficient, since many shooters move much slower while shooting that when they would run up to the target . It only works if your balance between time gain and points is correct, and your hit factor is increasing the risk of shooting on the move is also a big factor to consider. This game is all about efficiency. Also, people also tend to shoot faster at a competition, so in my opinion it’s no use to try to get to competition speed while training, since you will at some point cross your boundaries of ability and accept no shoots and misses during training, this will kill you at a match
Awesome stuff thanks for sharing your training drills. Is that your competition belt? Leg straps not allowed in USPSA. Having to remove mine really affected my draw.
For our fellow viewers, shoot your drills 3+ times each, before pasting. You'll get more information on what you're doing. If you're successful 4/5 times, you're wasting ammo. You should be succeeding 1/5 times in practice.
Hoping we get an update as to how you did!!! You’re going to do really well, and it will be cool to see how you did, with an update video, if you feel inclined! We’re curious. I’m a c-shooter in limited and I have much, muchhhh to learn (as do we all) but a guy in your position, is geared to do really well and it would be cool to see how you did. And are you training occluded??
This content is great, would love to watch more of this. If this was its own sub channel to trex, I would subscribe. The one take is great for setting realistic expectations.
Dude I doubt you'll fail, might not take tops, but damn you're a good shot and fast, I think you got er. Stay focused stay calm, stay relaxed. You're one of the best with a rifle I've seen in a long time. Young too. You're going to do well
Love first takes. Solid shooter while showing his human side while pushing himself. Thanks for this video.
Love these one takes. Shows how you actually correct for common issues. Love how trex is getting behind competitive pistol shooting. It's the best way to get better fast
Adding that cap camera for the 1st person pov is such a good addition.

I agree with @josephtetiofficial, seeing targets is such a rarity. The content this channel puts out is some of my favorite on the 'net.
Very well done . We will be running drills tomorrow (Sunday) and this has given me ideas for our cadre . Thanks again. Guy S.

If it has similar rules than IPSC, remember to take the finger out of the trigger guard when you don't aim a target.
Thanks for all the good content, and thanks for your service
love one takes and love Brandon as a host. just shows how one can easily be humbled (if they aren't already) by pushing the comfort zone

Going into my first match this month. This helps!

Great video. Lots of good tips for my improvements.
All I can say is I WISH:
I had that range
I had that ammo
Nice work!
Great video showcasing practical USPSA training with a Glock for Carry Optics
You guys are 24hours too late. I shot my match and sucked. My ragnarok works really good though! Gun came out quick just couldnt hit anything 🤣🤣
Lol... Damn
Hi guys! Awesome video, I would love to see more of these.
I have just 1 question: Can someone please tell me what's the camera setup for the POV footage?
Thanks! 😊
You might not win, but the more you try, train and put in the effort, the better you'll become, which is what matters imo.
What camera is on your hat?
Let’s go Brandon
haha good, someone with the same stupid thought, wanted to comment that.
Where is he going? Can I come?

Nice job, buddy! Really enjoyed this one! 😄
Nice video concept. Would like to see Brantley do one.
What camera and mount are you using? Awesome video by the way. Love one takes!
I really love the content and people on this channel. 👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸
He is buzzin on that reign😂
27:15 that reload while keeping the muzzle up to not flag Issac was so smooth
Came here to see if anyone else noticed this. Great muzzle discipline for sure.
Curious what Brandon’s initial classification will be, he is better than most guys just starting out, and has a good mentor in performance shooting.
He just GMd his last classifier, but it'll take a few more matches to see where he lands. Granted, he isn't a USPSA member so he won't have an official classification.

Brandon seems like a genuine guy.
Great video. Love the one takes. Be honest did he throw up immediately after the cut?
Participating in competition is really helpful to improve you as a shooter.
Nice, is there a plan to add some form of adjustment for the Ragnarock mag holders. I recently received my order and noticed they are not adjustable.
Thank you for the raw and uncut video. W video

I really like the choice of handgun glock 17 it's nice and full size but what matters most it goes bang when you need it too

How is he shooting so well with tape over his dot? 😮👏🏻
What is the camera mounted to the hat? Apologies if someone has already asked below.
Can you do a video on best drills for brand new shooters? Love the videos!!
I really appreciate the bad and the ugly. Thank you for the honesty.
USPSA officials where I shoot don't allow a leg strap. Awesome runs!!
There’s a lot of things he’s doing that aren’t Uspsa. He’s going to learn as he goes though!
@@ShemaYisrael1948 👍. They did say active military or law enforcement can wear the leg strap. Kind of dumb rule in this case.
