This 7-CD Sony box contains all of Bruno Walter's Mahler recordings for that label (minus a rehearsal excerpt or two). Symphonies Nos. 1, 2 and Das Lied von der Erde are essential and fabulous in toto. The others have their moments, but all of them are imbued with the right timbres and colors, and they are true collector's items.
