What is going on!! It’s your favorite poser, the Chupacabra!! Today I show you the different ways to decorate your bedroom with punk stuff!! Hope you like it. Instagram: @dead_chupacabra
This is so cool! I recently had a family member (wearing a “back the blue” shirt) walk into my room and decided that, if someone racist can walk into my room and not feel very, very uncomfortable, then I’m obviously doing something wrong with my interior design choices. I didn’t really know where to start though, so I’m loving these suggestions! I’m a solarpunk so I already have a million plants around my room, but with this inspo, I think I can lean into the punk side even more now. Thanks!!
@@emocowboy4684 well, the concept of wanting to support a job that you see as helping the community isn’t an issue, but distracting and detracting from the problem of police brutality is an issue. It’s like the “all lives matter” thing. Is it true that all lives matter? Ofc! But should we be talking about all lives mattering instead of working to end police brutality? No, we should focus on ending police brutality, something that has to stop if we are to treat all lives w the same respect. I personally think the police system is flawed at its core and needs to be revised entirely or reduced if we are to see a difference, but I understand if other people don’t see the same. Deciding how we should fix the problem is something people can disagree on and rightfully so (although Black voices should be listened to most because they experience the brutality). But seeing police brutality and instead deciding to distract from it instead of helping to end it? Or, as I’m expecting is the case w my family member, denying the issue despite all the facts and instead protecting the perpetrators of the violence? That’s not something people can debate on. That’s just wrong, and also, it’s just racism. Hope that doesn’t sound too preach-y, but I hope that clears up what I’m saying.
a punk room tip of my own: if you have any jewelry like chains, chokers, whatever it may be, put some thumbtacks or hooks on your door (or anywhere in your room) and hang em up. it fills up unwanted empty space, helps with organization and looks cool lol!
I really like that your videos are very casual and "homemade". I dont necessarily hate heavily edited videos with background music over them or anything, but your style of videos make me feel very chill and I enjoy watching them. Good work!
Another idea: if you have any artistic ability of your own, painting posters for bands and activist groups you support can look sick. I have a huge Blondie poster that I painted in black and white
thank you so much for posting these videos, I've been interested in punk music and the culture for a while now but I've been to scared to accually fully dive into it because things like this more specifically expressing yourself as anything out of the norm is sorta looked down upon in my household but latley I've gained a new perspective and have started to give less fucks about what people think of me. it feels so cool to watch these videos as if I have an awesome older brother who is teaching me everything he knows and helping to guide me into everything that I've been wating to learn about and experience for so long. again, thanks man I really apreciate what you do ♡
I’m glad to help! I’ll be doing kore videos moving forward about how to get involved in the scene and what the meaning of the scene is and how to watch out for gatekeepers and elitists and stuff
You must have a cool mum. I borrowed a headstone from the local graveyard for my room but it was so heavy it was warping the floorboards and my mum wasn’t impressed.
i love putting clothes on my walls! I hung a shirt with cool meat grinder design on it and all my favourite ties. the ties would definitely make any transphobe who sees them uncomfortable since I'm a trans guy so it doubles as something to piss of bigots and a cool decoration
currently trying to figure out how to decorate my room because i have absolutely nothing on my walls rn and it is insanely boring so this video definitely helps. trying to not freak my dad out too much though, cuz i’m the only child he’s had who’s punk, i mean my sister still thinks it’s a phase that people go through. (are phases supposed to last 5 years?)
This is so cool! I'm feeling really inspired to decorate. Just discovered ur channel today and I've been going through some of ur vids. I guess a question I have is how do people know when a band is punk? Or how do they group them into the sub categories of punk? I just listen to whatever without thinking about what genre it is, but I would like to at least have the knowledge.
Obviously there are a million different genres and bands that fit into them but personally, I kinda decided to just... Ignore all that and listen to what sounds good. Generally, in my mind, if it's got cool guitars and you wouldn't class it as classic rock then it's a subgenre of punk, this probably wasn't helpful but I used to be way too concerned about whether I was more into pop punk, alternative, new wave, post punk, alternative or what, but I recently decided that I don't care, I'm just punk 😂
@@Olly__Zines-By-Blade nice, idk why I never saw this reply but think you for your insight. I feel the same. And I don't feel pressured to label myself as anything. What would you say that punk means to you? I personally think it's just about being unabashedly yourself
@@danycracks4490 (this is gonna be a long one lol) Yeah I guess it means something similar to me, punk is being completely yourself, looking out for those who have been marginalised, doing what you can to help them and not supporting systems that allow things like discrimination to happen. Obviously the music side is important too, but to me it doesn't matter if you only like a few punk bands and listen to more goth or alt rock, as long as you support the views of the original movement but also adapt it to the modern world, e.g with less misogyny, because there was a fair amount of that even in punk in the 70s

Racists don't deserve to be comfortable in any way lmao!
Im sure your room will look great!
Back the blue has nothing to do with racism my guy

I don't live in America so i had to google what "back the blue" meant. Wow that is so disgusting. What the hell is wrong with people????
@@emocowboy4684 yes it clearly does wtf

This channel is quickly becoming a new favorite, thank you for creating this content :)
another affordable way to get some room decor is to go thrifting. I got an awesome metal basket for $1 the other day
The runaways picture on your wall!!! You're officially my favorite person ever.
They rock!!!
Another idea: if you have any artistic ability of your own, painting posters for bands and activist groups you support can look sick. I have a huge Blondie poster that I painted in black and white
