It’ll definitely shake things up! But I think for the greater good it is probably the best option. NZ and AUS to do a super 12 (5teams each) with 2 added teams from the pacific and Japan. Back to good old 2 round robin than semis and finals. Will definitely miss the good old days of playing SA teams but it seems too hard to manage now. The current conference system is shit considering you miss playing certain teams entirely. Can probably keep the Championship though, but even that might seem weird.
I'd prefer if we mainly play Currie Cup, but join in with the Heineken cup. I can't see how a match against the Scarlets for example (sorry squidge) would bring in more spectators as a local derby. This will also reduce traveling costs significantly.
Not sure if anyone has asked the Po14 teams on their thoughts about more South African teams joining! I'm sure it can work myself but the financial implications for this will be huge! I know that South Africa can bring big TV money!
Hi Robbie, G man and as well as 2cents rugby. We know that super rugby has been called off because of the civid 19 pandemic and that super rugby Aotearoa is taking place now. I would like to hear your thoughts about Warren Gatlands situation now that he would not be able to do his homework on South African players. He would've most probably been watching the South African players that would've been in the South African team or group to face the British and Irish lions. What do you think their strategy would be now that they will only have to look at the Currie Cup or end of year internationals if it takes place or next years super rugby tournament!(And with all speculation about whether or not that South Africa will still be a part of Super rugby or not) What's your take on that as I'm sure that was one of the reasons that Warren Gatland decided to coach the Chiefs this year was to do homework on the South African players but then covid 19 messed up every ones plans for 2020! Once again you guys are bringing something completely different to the rugby world that the big sports broadcasters don't do. Keep on with your passions!
The pro 14 does not really matter, It simply comes down to if the South African teams are allowed to qualify for Europe then they will be join the pro, If the they are not then they will stay were they are.
They can go and joined the Northern Hemisphere. How many Super Rugby and Tri Nations titles South Africa won compared to New Zealand ? South Africa making up excuses why they wanna leave Super Rugby.
L 8 R ź B O L T I don’t think it’s excuses, they’ve got legitimate reasons for joining a competition with a better time zone. However if the SA teams won more super rugby and championship titles I’m sure the decision would be harder to make lol
@@rusty2606Not the If this, If that storyline. RSA knew what they were signing when they put the pen to paper and all of a sudden they're using the timezone excuse why they wanna leave Southern Hemisphere.
Really enjoy both you guys.
g-man where's the old intro..
love the video btw ❤️
Had complaints about it being to long so took it away
Looking forward to both of your thoughts after two epic games in NZ come the weekend! Go the Chiefs!

Yup, South African club teams joining Pro14 is the best thing that can happen to South Africa and the Pro14.

I think it will happen and it should happen. But no conferences please. Just a single round robin regular season, with playoffs and a final.
Would love the SA teams in a pro-18
If you want to survive, you got to adapt simple. SA rugby should join Europe.... Great opportunities for everyone.

It would ruin the super rugby. As a kiwi it'd be really sad
