    Ingredients
    sooji
    khand/jaggery powder/sugar
    -ghee
    -dessicated coconut powder
    -cardamom powder
    -nuts powder
    milk/water
    -salt
    -saffron
    Method
    Preparation of filling
    add ghee in a pan , then dessicated coconut and jaggery powder...roast for 2 minutes ...
    *blend well and turn off heat
    add nuts powder
    *transfer to a bowl and cool it
    Preparation of dough
    in a pan add water, ghee, pinch of salt, elaichi powder..mix...boil
    *add roasted sooji ....mix well...add saffron and milk mixture to give it colour
    *stir continuously so that there are no lumps
    *cook in low flame
    once it comes together, switch off the gas
    *let it cool down ..dnt let it cool down completely
    *transfer to a bowl and knead into dough
    *grease hands with ghee, take a small amount and flatten it
    place jaggery mixture in the middle
    put all the edges and bring to the centre to make modak shape
    Garnish with saffron
    tip:-
    *dont overcook coconut stuffing as it will become hard on cooling
    can mix saffron and milk mixture
    can use toothpick or fork to give shape to modak
    Storing modak
    *Raw modaks can be stored in an air tight container .
    can be stored for 3 days at room temperature.
