  • The Crocodile Museum is located conveniently next to the amazing Kom Ombo temple, located north of Aswan in Egypt. We visited the temple and museum as part of a Nile cruise on the MS New Serenade in 2012. The museum highlights the crocodile-headed god Sobek and was opened shortly before our visit. The main exhibition hall displays mummies of various Nile crocodiles. The museum also shows a number of statues of the ancient god Sobek.

☺ Africa is finally ready to have more tourists than expected because Ethiopia for example is now growing into a "better" country. Wish I could pay a visit. ☺

Egypt had always been on our bucket list...having seen on many Egyptian themed rides at amusement parks it was hard to get your head around that this wasn't theming but the real deal. What struck me was how poor people were and how desperate they needed the tourism trade - with the many troubles in that part of the world I don't think life is any better, but we were so glad we visited.
