Just listen to ALL the work of IR from 1976-till date. There are SEVERAL albums/songs/background scores he experimented and was still able to give GREAT timeless soulful music.

ILAYA NILA song was COPIED by Kalyanji-Anandji in Hindi as Neele neele ambar, for which they gave IR "Kanavu kaaNum"! During that spat, SPB intervened, and asked them to change the charanam. They obliged, and the Hindi song is NO match for the mighty TAMIL! Hindi song had "mild" generic orchestration and lukewarm charanams! The song became a superhit, thanks to IR's pallavi and Kishore Kumar's nostalgic voice! Whereas, Kanavu kaanum was merely recorded "kadane endru"; Balu Mahendra used it accordingly! KNOW some HISTORY before doing a word salad! Did MSV pay royalty to the concerned, for Viswanathan velai vendum, Malarendra mugam, Vaanile medai etc.?

We have lived through all the faces and happened to hear all. No thieves confess their theft, which is testified at the trial of Court, leads to convictions. That applies to music too. MSV pioneered the western orchestration way back in the 50's, who has been generous enough not to demand Royalty. Again we have PROS in western Music ( Professors in world most renowned University). Defending the musical theft is only futile. We are still awed by the songs of Miiiyamma 1955, and its MD Raajeswara Roo, as we do not keep up appearances with certain eras and concise informations, with tamed ideology to eulogise someone disproportionately. It is applicable for everyone including actors/actress' etc. bosskey giving examples of compositions made in raja peak time and immortal songs but I don't think raja gave super hits last twenty years like he did in 80's and late 90's. We don't know whether raja not willing to change his style or people taste got changed. All these questions and expectations was there with MSV also in 80's and people compared like this.
