Yes, I have tried all of the Omens expansions with the exception of the latest expansion, which I am going to be playing tonight. However, I played Gates before I played any of the other expansions, which is why I say it saved the game for me.
hehe Gesine, I am a master dice player :) Not really, but I do feel the game is more on the easier side. I played last night, and had half of the elder signs needed before 1 doom even came out (it came out, but I was able to remove it twice). That was just steamrolling, I never ever get that in Eldritch or Arkham Horror. Sometimes it is closer or even loose, but the swings are big.
How do you mean: "A doom event came out", you mean you drew the first card of "Doom advances" that late in the game? I usually have them on my second midnight. :)
Eldritch and Elder are disappointing to me. Too easy with simplistic game mechanics that reduces the suffocation that Arkham drips with. But it seems that FFG is going to do a renewed Arkham. That’s what I’m reading from BBG and other sources. I do like the LCG however; while being very cautious not to get tied to an endless game, it is great.
The Late Night Gamer I think it’s rumour, it’s “heard this, heard that”. But there is mention. I think they should stick to what works and just expand on the great series. And re-introduced all the character minis.

The expansion that saved the game for me was the Gates of Arkham expansion. I agree that the base game + Unseen Forces is too easy.

I got one on the first turn, but was able to remove it, several times. The reward symbol with a tentacle-dude with a cross over.
Omens of Ice is the most difficult so far imo, but I haven't played the latest one yet.
