    Brayshaw was on borrowed time with his long concussion history. Any game could've been his last. It was a freak incident. Maynard's been suspended once or twice in his career for very minor incidents, so he deserves the benefit of the doubt that he was only going for a spoil and not trying to bump.
    Say what you will about him being a "wannabe tough guy" as people like to call him, but he's never been a sniper. He's always been a hard but fair player.

      As a Dees supporter, I agree. I don't and didn't think there was any malice in the Brayshaw/Maynard collision.
      Personally I'm not a fan of booing (i know others disagree, and that's okay) but for the Dees, it's time to move on and I think the players were trying to do that. They just lacked any hunger and drive, plus the skill level was so poor.
      But lets not take anything away from the Pies, they were playing some good footy.

    It is unfortunate that Angus Brayshaw had to retire. As well as Nathan Murphy. It would be great if the media focused on the attitudes surrounding the retirement between the two of them. One looking at being a constructive pillar to assist in awareness of how to manage the effects of concussion moving forward. The other playing the outright victim. How would you like your son to act in this predicament. As a proud Melbournian, I find the woke/victim mentality has permeated the city and state to the point of destroying the courageous/tough attitude of the battling Aussie. If you play a physical contact sport and suffer concussion these days, as unfortunate as it is, you made that choice, we have known for almost a generation the lasting effects that can happen. Brayshaw has an opportunity to be a better man, stop playing the victim and find how he can use his situation to help others. Life is tough but heroes find a way to turn the biggest challenges into their greatest strengths.

    Imagine if he did that dog act to a Carlton player, he would be attacked at every opportunity for the next few games. Everyone who has played footy and is being honest with themselves knows he lined Brayshaw up from about 20mtrs away. People who back up Maynard are exactly the same as those 'benefit of the doubt' people that say Milne couldn't have stopped that ball and kicked the winning goal. You're lying to yourselves.

      @barrytalks3531 7 месяцев назад

      Maynard incident was way worse than Murphys. Both unfortunate incidents but in the grannie Murphy put his head down going for the ball and was unlucky. Brawshaw was also unlucky that Maynard went for the smother and executed it horribly. Don’t compare the two incidents.

    • @mark8860
      @mark8860 7 месяцев назад

      @barrytalks3531 not comparing the incident itself mate. I'm saying that just because Brayshaw's career ended doesn't mean what maynard did was wrong, he got off which the rule let him at the time. It may be a suspension now but back then it wasn't. Ending someone's career doesn't necessarily make the action wrong. It's About the action itself which is what I'm trying to say
