The properties of metals are a very special thing, and due to these properties they end up being used in very unique circumstances. Often times due to these properties, metals are used in a way where something or even someone’s life is dependent upon these properties. This is why we take welding so seriously, and training and practice is a must. On many occasions we have had to repair items that have failed due to a bad weld or improper material selection. And over the years one sees some fairly odd accidents where someone has been injured or sometimes even worse. This park bench is a great example, it came into us after breaking due to a weld that was too cold and lacked fusion. So we have cut out all of the structural welds, and replaced them at the proper fusion. In truth this could have seriously injured or impaled someone. So the next time you weld think about the importance of what you are doing, because most likely someone’s life is going to depend upon it.
