My wife and I volunteered at So Cal and I can back up everything Curtis said. The group was very gracious and very thankful for the help. I tried to help more but Curtis truly wanted us to enjoy the expo. We did enjoy the time we were there and will be back. The only thing I would change is to let the attendees know that they can pickup their passes the day before and save time. This had to be one of the best run expos I have been to. One last thing, these guys were running around taking care of things throughout the show but I would like to call out that fact that when a fan came up to any one of them they stopped and greeted them and talked to them. It was good to see. Congrats on a great Expo!
Those 2 days were the most exhausting days of my life 😂 Im pretty sure I damaged my voice for life but it was worth it! From both a vending and attending standpoint you guys truly put on an amazing event!! You guys brought the community together and gave us a place to hangout and enjoy what we all love and that is priceless! As for the drama at the end, I’m glad it was just vendors left, and I hope you felt all the support from everyone who was there and ready to help you keep everyone safe. While it was scary when rumors were flying, you could feel the collective overwhelming energy in the room of the vendors ready to have each others back if needed, it was electric! Thank you for being so involved and jumping in, that is not how many people would have handled the situation. It goes to show this is truly a community that you guys have not only brought together but are rooted in and a part of! Thank you for a great expo!
In terms of improvements from a panelists perspective at the show. This is what I have. - Longer set-up times (We were only able to set up on time due to a canceled panel) - Easy access to tech support. We were having many microphone problems and noone to go too. - Announce panels better through the PA system or something cause next to no one knew panels were a thing when we talking to people on Sunday after our show. - Programs for each attendee so they know what else is going on Additions: - Charity Auction Dinner at night after the hustle and bustle - Better Arcade + Console Freeplay Selection

The SoCal Gaming Expo was thee absolute best convention I’ve been to. I’ve been to D23, Star Wars Celebration, Wondercon a few times and countless smaller Cons. Usually at a Con, I’ll pass 5-10 vendors before I see one that I’m interested in. At SoCal, every vendor had something to look at. Every one was so chill. John Bentley was awesome! Tetris tournament was crazy! Skate ramp was dope! And meeting all of you guys was awesome! You guys treated me and my sons as if you already knew us. So much to keep you occupied. Great venue, great location. My only regret is not buying a 2-Day pass. I won’t make that mistake again. Thanks guys!!

Thank you guys for putting the expo together. It was great seeing all the local vendors and other vendors from out of town come together bringing their best items. Plus, Mort with his band, the skaters, the tournaments, the free-to-play experiences, the trades. Everything was amazing. I had a blast as a vendor, a collector and a gamer.
It was cool doing volunteering with you guys. I hope admission gets easier next year with vendors and general guests. Happy that your friends and guests did some of the social media for the event online. Can't wait for next year.

lol When the guy was on the ground, i had my knee on his spine trying to hold him down, then I look up and all I see is Riff holding one arm and Gabbo had the other. It was a very movie scene type moment from that perspective, I was like "The Squad is Here!" lol Was hoping there was a worldstar video of us lol
Socal was definitely an amazing experience. All of you did a fantastic job organizing and ensuring it went great. Everyone I talked to was so impressed with everything. I'm already excited to volunteer next year!
Con was great but look... I bought food.. looked around somwehre to eat.... theres a giant skateramp... no chairs anywhere. i think maybe there was a huge oversight on letting people sit and eat in between shopping. I've never been to any type of convention that literally has nowhere to eat purchased food that was bought in the convention. And of course they talked about expanding the skating area lol.
@@Tallpaaaul well im glad you don't matter as you aren't running the convention :D Everyone has to eat sometime, and there aren't that many options immedietly next to this convention. People with children don't want to go out in the scorching heat and walk .6 miles to then just stand in line outside to wait to be seated to eat. There's also no food trucks in the area so naturally this means.. We need somewhere to sit and eat. When I tried ordering food at the con, they ran out of fries. So basically everyone trying to eat had to stand and wait 20-25 minutes for the orders to start coming through with fries. It was pretty chaotic as the place to order food was super narrow due to tall walls blocking off sections for booths and the skate park. There was some people sitting on the floor but again, not much space even to do that. And they were sitting next to trashcans.
Next year special event of salon fight with sockem bobbers haha I think you handled the unexpected situation very well! Holding till cop/paid security can step in!
There is such a thing as too big though. I went to SEGE yesterday and it was disappointing how big it got, I really missed the ability to just chat with vendors and special guests without having to shout the whole time
