I saw a coyote while turkey hunting the other day. Had #6 shot so I didn't know if that'd be powerful enough to down it. Had my 9mm for backup but when it realized I was there it started backing away slowly. I snapped a couple pics of it then it turned around and went the other way. Figured I might as well add that to the list of creatures I'll hunt so time to learn about them.
I know this is an old video, but I just found you and I subscribed. I'm in the southern tip of south central Indiana. I used to hunt them back in the 80's and 90's.. I'm 62 and retiring and hope to get after them again.. Great shooting. I used to use a Ruger Number 1 in 22.250, but then I had a farmer one day when I was using a Remington 700 varmint in .223 killing his groundhogs tell me he liked that rifle because it didn't make a lot of noise around his animals so I started using it almost exclusively. Great shooting and good video.. Thanks so much.. Regards from South Central Indiana. USA Tim
I switched over to air guns. A .30cal PCP air gun will put out roughly the same energy as a 22lr, but I can put a suppressor on it without the BATF paperwork. With a suppressor on it, all you hear is the spring and the valve opening. There's no report at all and the noise isn't something most people would recognize.
Cool video. I’m surprised that first pair didn’t see you being you were skylined. I would’ve at least sat in front of a fence post in hopes it might help break up my outline. But hey the odds were obviously in your favour that particular day
I'm so glad there are guys that can do this. I'd be frozen. When it's that cold out the only way I can keep warm is to be moving. I mean, 18 degrees and no gloves? I just cannot do that.
You'd be surprised at what you're capable of if you want something bad enough. Test yourself, find your limits and push them. I was the same way when I started hunting 20 years ago. It was 3 years of hunting hard before I got my first deer. I remember sitting daylight to dark in 17 degrees, no heater or hot hands. Just layered my clothes the best I could. It was painful 😅. A whole day of shivering, just to watch the deer walk towards me, not like the look of my hunting blind, and turn and walk the other way! I was still learning back then and didn't think to put my blind back up against the thicket of trees and brush it in. Instead, I had a camouflage blind sitting out in the middle of the woods, in snow 😂. Omg I was angry at myself. I was proud too though. I pushed myself to be and stay uncomfortable for a long time. Started getting them deer too 😁.
I live in an urban area, (suburb), and I never heard of coyotes in 45 years. I started to hear rumors two years ago, they were out back in the quarry. I watched a ten minute youtube video of coyote sounds to know what they sound like. Last night a firetruck blaring sirens went up the road back there, and it was a frenzy yelping and howling, sounded like twenty, or more, coyotes. Now, I gotta figure out what to do about it, because the couch potatoes in this neighborhood, will just let it fester. I'll be using my .50 cal air rifle, at night, looks like.
Had one nab one of our cats in suburban Austin TX. They apparently are very common here and learned the harsh lesson of keeping small pets indoors. I was literally inside the house 10f away as the crow flies and it was a silent quick kill and it got out of the yard before I knew wtf happened and could get a light.
Coyotes are a major pest where I am. I have family that farm sheep and grass fed cattle, and it's not unusual for calves and lambs to turn into yote food. I have another uncle that has had coyotes kill calves that he had out in hutches on his dairy farm. Every year, someone in the family has a story about coyotes surrounding their stand while they were bow hunting. Damned things make nice pelts at least.
' yeaa coyotes are bad wild dogs that always hurts damages the farmer alot... what he do to with 2 dead coyotes... cook and eat... buried... fire burn cremation
There are many reasons why. I killed a young female coyote at the barn yesterday where a newly born Colt is. Our other neighbor has lost calves to coyotes. We've lost turkeys, chickens, and ducks to them but not any of our larger livestock.
God clueless people like you are cringe. Just go to southwest Montana where the feel good people like released wolves into Yellowstone and completely destroyed the muke deer and elk populations. Then you'd understand why managing there numbers is good for the ecosystem.
They are invasive in almost every county in the US. I've seen these creatures ripping apart a dog next to In N Out Burger in Los Angeles. Get educated, this is conservation.
I hate to break it to you, but animals kill humans too, as well as other animals. Just be glad that coyotes, wolves, bears, and lions don’t have opposable thumbs and bigger brains because we wouldn’t exist.
I don't know how you have +300K views and no comments, but here ya go. Thanks for the tips!
Can't believe I just stumbled onto your site 3 years later, but I'm glad I did. Thanks for the tips.
This is great channel.. not just on RUclips but on TV as well. Thanks for the great work.

Couple yotes can sound like a big pack.
😂 that will do it.
Got a bunch on my property. Come on up to Indiana. Saw 7 Saturday night.
Been hunting the coyotes pesking neighboring farms. They love me cuz I don't want pay, the hunt is the pay!!
Great vid man!
Does anyone know what rifle he’s using?

How do I get into touch with this guy?
Got a coyote on my Dad property gonna try to find him this week!
Heck yea, Stretching the old savage out. Great Stuff.
What is that spinny contraption?
Makes hurt animal noises to attract the coyotes.
@@adailydrawingmustache4604 what's it called? Is it on Amazon?
@@Jeremy.G408 Just look for predator decoy or something like that. It should pop right up.
Mojo makes one that has a distressed rabbit sound built in too.
Great video!
what do you do with dead ones?😀
That’s awesome
I’ll take the second comment 😃 good tips man!
Do you eat them? Just curious.
Hunting predators keeps your livestock safe and other animals protected and thriving. He says this in the video.
Cool. Good hunting right there !. So fun eh ?
Yea... I'm from Canada ! Central Saskatchewan.
Got a few hunts and stuff you might check out. Adv.W/Ken
Trying to pull the trigger when the guns on safe is the worst feeling
Why does anyone hunt coyotes? I had no clue this was a thing. Do you eat them?
No
Coyotes are predators. They hurt the environment, cattle, deer, etc. Would not eat, not a good tasting meat lol
@@bobbyBoosh says who? Not good tasting? I've never eaten coyote but it's 100% edible. I've eaten bobcat raccoon squirrel. All pretty good meats
@@zacheckert4868 says most people who've ever tried it.

Now let’s see this but in a dense area with neighbors everywhere
Crossbow, HP Air Rifle! Do it all the time
Great video
You're using a 22-250 meanwhile I'm thinking about using my 270😅
243 will sit some down too
Nothing about tactics, I don’t want to go hunting with you. I’m trying to learn what to do and want to do it and what not to do.
Third! Good tips

Man what is that bipod
Awesome 😎
4th is the best
Hunting does not reduce the population, so what’s the point.
You say that, why are there regulations for the amount of deer or rabbit you kill?
You dense buddy?
People keep saying that. Just cause one guy on Joe Rogan said that doesn't mean it's true.
this is mean lisin to your mom bob
For no reason
when they kill your pet you'll have your reason.
No one owes you an explanation.

Don't be fooled, coyotes are cold-blooded killers
This is so sad that u like killing animals 😢🤧
So sad that you don't enjoy hunting.
Bet you eat animals that’s pretty sad.
Why would you come to this video if you don't like hunting?
