We got ours yesterday. We opted for the solar panel version. QR code and install the APP. First thing is to charge up the battery. The camera showed a green light by the protruding button and then went to a flashing blue light. I let it set overnight and blue flashing light did not change. The app said it should turn stead green and did not. Next was firmware update - the app walked me through the update. It takes several minutes to update the firmware. I then plugged the USB cable back into the camera and did see a steady green light. There are additional steps to get through like naming your Bird Buddy. Placement of the bird buddy is pretty easy - I had a one-inch OD pipe (3/4" threaded pipe that is 5 feet long) and just pounded that in the ground. And it works great. You are supposed to use a one-inch OD PVC pipe, but I didn't have that and used the 3/4" threaded pipe and that was fine. Careful not to over tighten and break the pole mount! It has a live stream feature and as soon as the camera came up live a Chickadee was already on the feeder and did a grab and run. lol The unit has two threaded holes on the orange plastic pad where the birds land, so I added a 1/2-inch dowel across the pad and utilized the two 5-millimeter threaded holes. Works great. The videos show these two holes using other accessories, so I believe there is no additional perch that is supposed to come with the base unit. There are add on accessories like the wall mount and fence mount and a plastic ball that uses these 5-millimeter holes to hold what looks like Suet - if you want to go in that direction. The packaging is excellent everything seems like a high-quality design and build. So, all this is day one - so on with the show.
I just got mine yesturday around night time so while im waiting for the battery to be fully charged I found this video and yall gave so many interesting facts i didnt know about it! btw: dad was right, birds arent as active during winter since most of them migrated to somewhere else but you do get some birds! I'll start doing videos showing mine!
If you have a 120v outlet nearby, you can get a long USB to USB-C cable and keep it charged up all the time. I am going to mount ours on the shed so i have power close by.
Thanks for the video! I ordered two yesterday (They ship it to even South Korea!). I wonder if the feeder and my phone need to be on the same network to work. Can I get photos and alarms when I use my phone by cellular data far from the wifi?
You’ll need to be on the same Wi-Fi to set it up and install the firmware but then so long as the feeders can reach your router you can get notifications anywhere. Heck I get notifications when I’m traveling internationally so I can enjoy the visitors no matter where I’m at. I’ll add they’ve made a lot of great improvements so I hope you enjoy it, I do!
mine arrived this week. I have a solar roof. I’ll let you know if I need to charge mine every day even with solar, but I hope I won’t. **edit** went from 92% to 95%. It was worth the $69 upgrade to get solar

How did you charge the camera? Mine has no way to plug into the wall. The cord provided does not fit Apple or Android adapters.
I can't get my paired with my phone. My phone shows it as connected, but the app says it isn't. There really isn't any customer service available.
I can’t pair mine either😡
Me either.
Dang! We’re still waiting for ours. Thanks for sharing. I’m looking forward to your updates. I’ll let you know if we get ours.

Is it getting direct sun? What region do you live in?
Poor battery duration. Have to recharge at least every three days. Very disappointed.
So now people can tap into it and spy on the birds AND family! lol
Well it’s facing away from the house and only those I give access to can see it.
