Just stumbled upon this, very impressed, making a retro device in this day age is to be applauded. I can see why you wanted to do something different than just another FPGA device emulating other systems, you wanted to design your own platform like the micro computers of the past. Great stuff, well done on seeing this through to sale.

well, the Commander X16 project generated a lot of interest and got a sizeable following, but after all these years has only produced a software emulator and an FPGA implementation that isn't being put out there - there are some prototype boards but no shipping product to end users, and sounds like is being stymied by shortage on its one FPGA chip dependency, and was being held up by a kernal problem with the keyboard. So it's nice to see project endeavors that reach fruition and gets units into customer hands. Kind of the old saying - a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush

      Yes. Very disappointed in them!
Doing my own thing with stm8 probably.... learning Python first.
      Grrr....

@@Theineluctable_SOME_CANT "learning Python" - ah, that's way too practical. There's a Pascal like language called Rascal that targets a lot of the vintage 8-bit computers of the 80s. And the software emulators are very good quality these days. So that is always a path toward dipping a toe into retro programming

To be honest, I had a strange intro to programming. In that I learned hp 41 programming at the same time I learned PASCAL by logging on (and 'Attaching" to) an old supercomputer...

She should make compatible versions of retro computers like an amiga 600 using fpga that is 100% compatible. There would be a market since used amiga are expensive and hard to find.

She has decided a long time ago not to make clones of retro computers, but new computers with the retro feel.

I think this is a very cool project and I do get your point what kind of computer this is and whom it is for. For not very skilled people like me, who are very interested in a new 8 / 16 / 32 bit machine and are even willing to learn programming there is one big thing missing: A neat simple OS, a starting Point. Would the C64, C128 or the Amiga would have sold as many units, if there hadn't been a documentation, ms basic or workbench installed in the machine? This was a good starting point. People had something to start with, modifying and disect a game or program code and went on and on from there.
I really hope your computer lifts off and will become something even more special until a point, where simple people can jump in and contribute usefull programs and games. 🖖🏻

Bill Gates should give all his money to IBM. Let IBM rebuild Bell's lab. How can some straggly soldier make CPU.
