I purchased a 2016 Accord Coupe EX-L V6 6MT w/HFP kit last November. It had only 2500 miles on it and was in stellar condition. It is my first Coupe since I got rid of my 2007 Accord Coupe EX back in 2012, and my first Manual transmission car since I got rid of my 1995 Accord Coupe LX back in 2004. Needless to say, I'm not a noob when it comes to the Honda Accord. The be clear, I loved my 2007 Accord EX. While it was lacking power, it was a very nice car inside and out, was easy to work on (if you ever needed to work on it), but mostly, it was super comfortable to drive on a daily basis. My 2007 was an Automatic because my wife didn't want a manual. My 1995 (purchased in 2000) was a manual, and was one of the best shifting cars I had ever driven. I knew when it was time to purchase a new Accord, I wanted to get back into one of Honda's wonderful manual gearboxes. Boy, was I surprised when I got into the 2016 Accord. It had a lot of power! It's not a pony car, nor does it market itself as one, but it has a great jump and has plenty of passing power. The way it shifts through gears, to me, is up there with the way I felt driving an MX-5, but in a heavier, more comfortable Accord. For the price, I don't think you get as much bang for the buck in the $30k price range (cheaper now if you get used since the new Accord is out). I'm 35 and not looking to tune, so I'm sure tuners will find ways to make the car go faster and be louder, but I think it just looks, sounds, and drives great as is.
the 2017, without the knob- not needed as volume is on steering wheel; the dual screen again for safety is AMAZING! Love this car as it looks great, wheels included.
i love accords and for awhile i was debating whether or not to purchase one like this; but now that i have seen this version w the HFP kit & 1"-2" spring drop pkg. i can say i am completely sold!! the best part is this DOESN'T look like a bmw and it no aluminum doors. Great video!!
I just bought the exact car as a second car to a 2022 Mazda 3 GT AWD Turbo and was reminded why I owned and loved Honda’s especially with the 3.5 V6 W/ 6 speed & even though it’s a more then a few yrs older it has really low k’s and drives beautifully especially on the highway getting damn good fuel economy. These cars with low k’s are becoming difficult to find and they hold their value nicely. I find I am choosing to drive the more comfortable Accord more then the 3 Turbo especially now that it’s spring here in Canada. This V6 Accord Coupe will be missed, it already is. Appreciate the video
I have a 2015 Accord Coupe EX-L V6, I took a road trip out to Colorado and let me tell you driving to Vail through the mountains the car felt like half the cylinders stopped working. At sea level this car is fun and fast, but up in the mountains it feels like driving a heavy truck with no power. My biggest complaint about this car, is how bad the brakes are. The brakes fade way too fast, I was relying heavily on my transmission and down shifting while driving through the mountains, I only had 36,000 miles and my brakes were fried. I had to constantly pull over while driving through the mountains to let my brakes cool down. Overall I absolutely love the car, wish the seats were a bit more comfortable, but then again if I can sit in the car for 18 hours straight the seats aren't too bad.
I happen to have a 2015 Honda Accord V6 coupe. I don't see very much on the video that really looks much better other than typical upgrades... Please go farther on your "hell yea its better than 2015" I love my accord. The v6 coupe is a very sporty shockingly fast car
Also just bought a 6-6 Coupe.. seriously an amazing car. Bought with 65k miles, replacing my 2006 2.4L 5 speed coupe. Love that car as well but it was starting to fall apart; more work than I was willing to put into it.
We recently bought one. V6 AT .. Like in a lot...except for the passenger seat .. Not very comfortable and lacking multi-adjustments.. Getting used to its handling vs our former '03 Eclipse.. But a fine car, imo.
matt k I think Honda (and many other car manufacturers) use ductile high strength steels in their doors for crash safety. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I hope you guys could do a review on the Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. I know you did a review on the SRT, but I would like to see the luxury part of the car, rather than the sportiness of it. Thanks, really appreciate it.
Sadly, my country Singapore does not offer the 3.5 engine not the coupe because the road tax would be too high and the cost exorbitant for a Honda. We'd have to settle for the 2.4 sedan at best. A 2.0l is also available and they all are priced at 150k and above thanks to the tariffs set by our government. Making our cars the world's most expensive
Constantine Joseph That is insane at current exchange rates $1 SGD = $0.72 USD - translating into roughly $107,000+ USD. About the cost of a small 3 bedroom house or one new Porsche 911. Dang! Edit: Your GDP is comparable with most Americans salaries, and the total land area is rather limited. This is probably why prices are some of the highest.
Roclee612 Yeah, a few years ago we had two big-shots come over from our company's Singapore location; those two thought the rental car was just super ! Knowing that these two made mucho-moola, we asked if the rental was some slick sports car; they said no, but it was just so great to drive a car. They had to explain to us that in their country a Civic was a $60K car >:-?
Best Honda ever better then Toyota Camry this Honda accord in 2013-2016 is better looking then the Camry tfl great job and Honda more v6 and tubro liking this touring model buy it
Sorry, I didn't get the point you are saying you can change volume on steering wheel, but you still miss the volume button at mid entertainment system, my BMW has a volume button at middle but I almost never use it, as long as you can control things right at steering wheel, why care too much another redundant physical button
the accord needs; 1.more available v6 6MT coupes and a v6 6mt sedan 2.a more sport focused trim (for v6).. just like how the civic has the si and the type r respectively 3.LSD LSD LSD LSD ( see #2).. v6 twist to the front wheels is a spin machine 4. a more powerful motor in the 3.7L range to put out 300hp or so (see #2) 5. puddle lights on the doors for added wow factor 6. a diet ( there heavy)
Did you even mention the mpg? You made such a big deal about it on the first video and so I came back on Aug 10th & nothing. Hmmm..maybe you can make another video and possibly talk more about how the car feels, as far as what tweaks were done to the suspension/steering. Thanks.
Really like the honda accord refresh, looking into buying a new car soon, but I don't know if this car is a better buy than the other car i'm looking into which is the 2016 lexus IS 200t f sport which will be about 7k-8k more than the touring model of the accord coupe.
Looking waaaaay better; but the VCM still plagues the automatic right ?! Guess the 6-speed remains the only option, which means forget about getting any deals at the dealership. "Oh, what's that sir? You want to ORDER a black on black MANUAL V6 coupe?! No problem, oh yeah, F what prices you found online, you will pay what I ask for !! Muaaahhhaaaa muahhhaaa haaa >:-)
rwd cars do not sell alot not a huge market. honda wants to make money the accord is bread butter with options for all. dont knock it till you drive it. but one thing thats a true driving experience its offered in manual bmw is not making manuals cause they dont sell so honda is sticking to driver experience. the s2000 will be back rwd. All your honda haters out there but a civic type r in your pipe and smoke it cause that car will blow you away
GT6SuzukaTimeTrials When you work for a company, and are a rep(resentative), you get to use "we". Honda in the US gets to assist in aspects of design and production, so they very much get to use "we".
Your sound guy needs to work on your in car audio. Every time you slide your hands on the steering wheel is sounds like you're rubbing sand paper next to the mic.
Doesn't sound quieter. Would like to have a dba comparison between the '15 and the '16. The human ear can't hear a 1 or 2 dba difference. So only if it is 3 dba quieter or better would it be significant.
hard to watch because he kind of bullshits his way through a review when he doesn't really know much about a sports car. he never mentions under or oversteer, what kind of tranny, on and on.
No matter how nice a Honda appears to be, I would NEVER buy any of their V-6's. Too many friends and family members left with dead transmissions under 165K miles. If I were a leasing man, then, maybe... but, mostly, Honda V-6's are a "negative, ghost rider".
+Evan Osborn I just don't see the point of turning a car that was designed to be able to hold 5 adults comfortably in it into a coupe. Cars like BRZ, sure, great coupes. Turning S klasse into a coupe? Defeats its all purpose.
UGLY-DUCKLING-ROASTS I still wish that Honda made new accord coupe because they didn’t redesign it for almost 10 years so it would’ve been perfect if they redesigned it for 2018 just like the sedan
The only thing that I like better than the 2015 (I own a 2014 model) is the headlights, they had LED in Canada as an option but didn't do it in the US till now.. WTH? The snout I could get used to, and maybe my bias but I like the lines of the previous design. The white part of the tail lights make me think of the Chrysler emblem but split in half to the opposite sides of the car. Also- showing the HFP edition here and not mentioning anything of it can make people think this is what the Accord Coupe "normally" looks like- which is not true. I kind of wish the 2016 Accord Sedan tail lights came over to this coupe!
I like the headlights too also the rear end work lights bumper treatment but I hat the chrome front strip! I own a 2015 Honda Accord EX-L V6 Coupe in white orchid pearl and my black mesh grill is 1000 times better looking than that chrome retainer on the front!
A friend of mine has a 6th gen Accord coupe with the V6 and he's let me drive it a couple of times. It's a very nice car with some good power. I wouldn't say that it's mind kind of car, but for what he uses it for, it's a great car.
Will they finally "allow us to buy" a manual Sport in a color other than black and dark grey in the US? I ended up buying another brand because I couldn't buy a white manual Sport, so I guess it's too late anyway.
As someone who's 2nd used car was a cheap piece of shit 1990 Accord, it's just mind bending how far the Accord has come from that car. This car is in a whole different universe compare to my '90 sedan.
+Inner Ear Thing I drove a 1990 Accord 4Dr EX for 10 years and 200,000 miles. There was nothing cheap about this car. If you wanted cheap POS back then you could look at comparable Buicks and Chevys.
itsmegp46 Lol, well, those are worse options for sure. But no, I drove the very same car, and it was quite a cheap pos. A long lasting, low maintenance cheap pos though.
itsmegp46 Sure thing.... extremely boring and simplistic interior design accompanied by a nothing but a box of an exterior. Then throw in the very anemic underpowered engine and terrible sound deadening (or lack thereof). It always got me from A to B, but I sure wasn't liking a second of it! That's how I'd define a cheap POS.
Too bad the paint job won't last as long as the engine. Also, Honda could save some money by just omitting the suspension. No one would be able to tell the difference. And I have always been amused by their dedication to horrible sounding stereos.
Too bad he's reviewing the HFP model and not the standard V6 Accord Coupe. The model is over 40K. Nuts to pay 40K for a FWD Honda. That's BMW 328 territory, or MB CLA class.
That's alot of hp for a coupe that isn't a sports car. I like the refresh, the aero kit and spoiler works for me. Did you have it in a sort of "autostick" mode it sounded like it was revving quite high on the in car view even while you were cruising
Never liked Acura styling and now Honda has brought it to the Honda brand. Thumbs Down. Put a 2013-2015 Accord Sedan Sport side by side the 2016 Sedan Sport...
hey to everyonereading this.....if you know of any online jobs that would help me in purchasing one of these pleade comment. ...I'd be very greatful. ....thanks
Please cover WIND and ROAD noise in each of your reviews. Don't just say it's "a little quieter." Give me a scale out of 1-5 and also ride comfort. These are important aspects when thinking about purchasing a vehicle.
Kudos to your sound guy. Your microphone is so good I'm constantly hearing you rub your hands across the steering wheel instead of listening to you speak.
+Kuku h it would be epic if they brought it back. They actually sold the Euro Accord wagon in NA briefly as the TSX Sportwagon. I assume it didn't sell well. Sad, since wagons rule.
I think the nose on the sedan looks worse than the 2015. That thick silver grill looks to similar to a hybrid.. Which lets admit it, they are always ugly! Haha I like the new lights but that's it.
is the exhaust different on this from 15' this sounds a lot like the v6 mustang from this video at least, nice car, would be more fun with a 6spd manual :)
For some reason I've always wanted an accord 6mt coupe, but seriously if this had awd or rwd it would be GOLD.
i swear but pull the handbrake and get ur hand motions on point and the 2008s slide so beautifully

TheRealHeavyG now it’s hard to find manual 😩
It's a sleeper for sure, have a 2004 v6 coupe 6 speed, amazing bloody car. Cant even find manuals anymore
Richiewrx 15 agreed, 6mt is a unicorn car and will get rarer as time goes on.
the 2017, without the knob- not needed as volume is on steering wheel; the dual screen again for safety is AMAZING! Love this car as it looks great, wheels included.

always been a sucker for a coupe, with a stick and not red color, looks good to me.
28 million engines, wow that is a lot of engines. Great review, fun to watch and packed with good info on the 2016 Honda Accord

bro i thought i was trippin jus got back from the mountains and back driving in dc area and yoooo it feel like i gained 50 -80 hp
Has still has volume knobs if you go for it's lowest trim on all of it's models

Bring it back Honda. Please. 6-6 Coupe is amazing.
Thats right baby we got 2 doors lmaooooo
I'm blown away you tested the automatic.
+Austin Butler The Touring only comes with an automatic. If you want a V6 with a six speed manual, your only choice is the EX-L.

Seems impossible to find a touring coupe with this HFP package from factory like this one, makes me wonder if this is the only one
I find the infotainment system easy to use.
Fails to mention he is in the HFP model.
put some aluminum in the heavy ass doors. my old accord coupe nearly broke my leg once.
matt k I think Honda (and many other car manufacturers) use ductile high strength steels in their doors for crash safety. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
+matt k You can't fix dings in aluminum like you can in steel
Start squatting deeper and get bigger 🦵 🍗 legs🤦🏻♂️😅😅
how about making some RWD cars Honda !!!!
RWD would make this car much more desirable.
thats why they made the nsx
+Juventino Sanchez 150k+ yea i'm sure if we could afford that we wouldn't be looking at Hondas.
mister one I wish the a2000 was still around.

+Constantine Joseph Come move to the US and drive on our big open roads in the western states.
Those LED headlights fit the sedan much better than they do the coupe

jalen summers actually Honda engineering out torque steer, they're underrated at 278hp they've been dyno'd at 300hp+
Can't wait to see the six speed
Admit that exhaust note is very sexy... Not like a G37 or Vq35de g35 but just in between that and a Toyota v6
Did you even mention the mpg? You made such a big deal about it on the first video and so I came back on Aug 10th & nothing. Hmmm..maybe you can make another video and possibly talk more about how the car feels, as far as what tweaks were done to the suspension/steering. Thanks.

you need to do a mashup with this car
Did you just run a stop sign at 6:40?
That was cool. But what happened to Nathan did he quit?
Although I own a 2007 EXL Coupe and a 2015 EXL Coupe, I think that the best looking coupe Honda ever made was the 2002 and the 2007.
Is the car quieter than the 2015? Or did he only say that 50 times? Quit knocking the old model.
Hey you guys were driving on aliso canyon rd and camino del norte
do a review of the 16 accord sport or ex
Looks dope
Why would you get the ITX? It's more quiet?
Sad that now the Accord only offers a 1.5T or hybrid. They’ve sucked the fun out of an inexpensive, reliable car.
Does that v6 has a timing chain or belt ??
is the right outside mirror broken?
Can anyone comment if the car blips the throttle (AKA rev match) when you downshift using the paddles?
No rev matching
when will we get the Hybrid. .
rwd cars do not sell alot not a huge market. honda wants to make money the accord is bread butter with options for all. dont knock it till you drive it. but one thing thats a true driving experience its offered in manual bmw is not making manuals cause they dont sell so honda is sticking to driver experience. the s2000 will be back rwd. All your honda haters out there but a civic type r in your pipe and smoke it cause that car will blow you away
i like ittttt ahhhh
I like how the Honda rep keeps saying "we" as if he had anything to do with building/designing anything about the car.
HaB22 He's not Japanese.
+GT6SuzukaTimeTrials Hondas engineering is us based...
ajo518 Pretty sure the engine is made in Japan.

+GT6SuzukaTimeTrials Nope. Last I checked, Honda's J-series V6 is primarily made in their Anna, Ohio engine plant.
CarPlay is pretty awful now (I own 2016 civic) because it's stil fairly new.
Your sound guy needs to work on your in car audio. Every time you slide your hands on the steering wheel is sounds like you're rubbing sand paper next to the mic.

lol why is he test driving a autotragic?
Why not?
Yeah I wish he would drive the Accord Coupe V6 6MT. I really want to see what he'd think of it.
That ugly grille has to go! That makes the car looks terrible in the front. Swap the grille from the 2015 model and it is a win
Wait... did he hit VTech?! 😂
lol VTech is Verizon's phone technology. You mean to say VTec.
Leroy Butts My bad... :D

Honda accord coupe? Just 1 question: Why?
It's just as pointless as E klasse coupe.
Because people like coupes duh
+Evan Osborn I just don't see the point of turning a car that was designed to be able to hold 5 adults comfortably in it into a coupe.
Cars like BRZ, sure, great coupes. Turning S klasse into a coupe? Defeats its all purpose.

UGLY-DUCKLING-ROASTS I still wish that Honda made new accord coupe because they didn’t redesign it for almost 10 years so it would’ve been perfect if they redesigned it for 2018 just like the sedan

@big body everyone is referring to the Accord. Hence model year 2008-2017 🤦
It is a sexy car, glad I got my hands on 1 :)

the volume knob is on your steering wheel it works fine for me )
I got the 2015. the engine is absolutely wonderful!

that rear end is very Porsche like.. def a rip off not a bad thing though and those LEDs very BMW like also

do 0-60!
anybody know a car that has won more car and driver awards than accord dont worry ill wait .......... still waiting
I got a muffler delete on this car and it sounds GLORIOUS
Jason Voorhees o fuk
Where's the sedan review of this?
Tech Defender Boring...
the accord was nice but apparently from 2008 they cant seem to upgrade the engine. its almost 2016 when are they going to bring back vtec. not ivtec
Turbo Civic!!!
Too bad the paint job won't last as long as the engine. Also, Honda could save some money by just omitting the suspension. No one would be able to tell the difference. And I have always been amused by their dedication to horrible sounding stereos.
You aren't lying very minimal paint damage on my BMW but my wives Honda gets paint chips like crazy seems like the paint is super thin
it would be cool to have it in a hybrid, or a convertible.
when will we have a 2.7V6TT AWD Honda?
6:40 nice “stop” 😂
Too bad he's reviewing the HFP model and not the standard V6 Accord Coupe. The model is over 40K. Nuts to pay 40K for a FWD Honda. That's BMW 328 territory, or MB CLA class.
The Ex-L V6 is 32kish the touring is 36-38k. Not 40k
The sedan is ugly why does the coupe look soo much better ?? The front and ear look good but the side profile is boring.
because the coupe always looks better.
That's alot of hp for a coupe that isn't a sports car. I like the refresh, the aero kit and spoiler works for me. Did you have it in a sort of "autostick" mode it sounded like it was revving quite high on the in car view even while you were cruising
What of fuel economy
Hideous, not feeling the interior at all.
when are they gonna make an accord wagon?
BigDirtyBasterd never, the last one was in 97.
In Japan there is.
+Kuku h it would be epic if they brought it back. They actually sold the Euro Accord wagon in NA briefly as the TSX Sportwagon. I assume it didn't sell well. Sad, since wagons rule.
BigDirtyBasterd the accord crosstour...
^Which itself is dead, no more are being made.
I think the nose on the sedan looks worse than the 2015. That thick silver grill looks to similar to a hybrid.. Which lets admit it, they are always ugly! Haha
I like the new lights but that's it.
Honda's Acura division had better look out and wise up. This car is just light years better than their TLX 4 banger and less expensive too!
not sure if Acura or Honda or BOTH
is the exhaust different on this from 15' this sounds a lot like the v6 mustang from this video at least, nice car, would be more fun with a 6spd manual :)
Just Get a New Genesis Lol Better Looking, Better Power, Better Everything Overall.
i just really don't see a that big of a difference between this new Accord and my "boring" 14 model...
The 2GR puts out the same juice as a standard Engine. No dreams. Just do. Cmon.
PLEASE STOP puting that noise at he beginning and end... rip headphone users
am wondering how much is it to replace those LED head light bulb cost? it looks nice.
Did you ask Honda why they don't have the Sport trim on the Coupe? It makes more sense then to have it on the Sedan.
+Eddie Sloan it's actually 16%
What I know is that if there was a Sport trim on the coupe, it will be high on my list of cars to consider for my next purchase
