As expected I’ve put the 2nd batch of Fact videos into one giant video, but for those of you who have been watching the series throughout, here are all the brand new facts… 9:07 The NBA’s Women (Correction: Lusia was drafted in 1977, not 1997. Misspoke) 17:50 Playoff LeBron 25:23 KD & Draymond’s 3s 36:28 The Finals MVP Trend 54:40 Near Double Quad CORRECTION: APOLOGIES for fact at 14:06. I updated the graphic, but forgot to update that audio. The graphic is the correct one. ALSO CORRECTION: I mention later in the video that only 4 players ever officially got a Quadruple-Double, which is correct. Problem is that I showed a photo of Artis Gilmore. Smh. It's not Artis, it was supposed to be Nate Thurmond in that photo (who is already criminally underrated). Now that this one’s behind me, I plan on making more videos covering these crazy Playoffs! Stay tuned.
Wouldn't it be easier to have all the new facts in the beginning or the end of the video instead of having them scattered throughout and having to timestamp them in a pinned comment?
Holy crap! If you told me that Giannis scoring over 40 points 3 times in an NBA final equaled the combined total of Bird, Kobe, Curry and Durant I would have not believed it. Just incredible 😯. Nice video...keep em coming👍
36:40 Giannis won FMVP last year and was a PF not a SF. Still 9 straight years of SFs winning is kinda crazy. But when you realize that all but one was Lebron, KD, and Kawhi it makes sense.
He just recently started playing PF compared to SF. He moves and plays like a SF too. Just like how Demar play PF for the Bulls, we all know he is a SG
On Rodman's defense: If you never get the ball because the Worm is smothering you, then he won't get the block or the steal. It's one of the biggest reasons that stat-heads misunderstand the game, and why Moreyball doesn't win chips.
Lol what are you getting on about? Advanced metrics are capable of understanding exactly what you're saying. Re: fact 45: the added context needed to explain why Johnston didn’t make the Top 75 was that he only played 7.5 years. He retired 1/2 way through his 8th season due to injuries (though he attempted a comeback in the ABL a couple years later). Except while trying to play through injuries a bit during his final partial-year, he never had a downward swing in his PER that comes to most players as their careers get longer and they age. Having such a relatively short career and a pretty sudden end to that “helped” Johnstown’s PER remain so high on the all-time list.
Great content. Always coming with the obscure facts. I actually bought the microfiber ball and liked it and still have it, for indoor only. So Id like to see the short history of it. Speaking of Christmas, I'd like to see the jersey history of it when they had the special jerseys.
In Long Island (NYC) high school basketball history, the scoring record was once held by NFL HOF'er Jim Brown, until it was broken by MLB HOF'er Carl Yastrzemski.
this is the first time... well ok like the 5th video and by the 3rd you had a new sub. your nonbiased while not solely focusing of pure stats (which is hard to do when the game changes so much like the NBA) makes me loveee your shit. i agree with most the arguments and would to love have a chance to debate the very few I do!! KEEP PUMPING THIS CONTENT!!!!!!!!!
4:04 interesting Kobe liked the new ball because of grip. Kobe actually had relatively normal hand size for his height compared to other NBA players so it makes sense that he'd like a ball with better grip for his smaller hands.
Man this is why i love your videos. Louie Vanpeer made a cut from the middle of the lane to the right for a corner 3. Sounds familiar? STEPH moves before STEPH! amazing
For the low turnover percentage I think a big part of that is due to how much spacing the game has now. The lane becoming more open, thus a steal from stripping ball handler becoming fewer, and then every passes travels more distance as well and becoming harder to intercept
Man as a Rockets fan who lived through the 94-95 seasons its such a shame we never got to see Hakeem vs MJ in the finals that is my personal number 1 what if
Pretty crazy that Steph just ended that FMVP streak of the player winning it being a small forward. Can’t wait to see em go back to back(if they’re healthy)
turnover percentage is definitely affected by the rule changes over the years and how refs call fouls, rule changes have restricted defense while offense has evolved more and more and more
it’s just insane to me that in 2003 Bruce Bowen shot better from the 3 point line than he did from the free throw line. how does that even happen with an NBA player
Steph Curry says he shoots better on contested shots over noncontested shots. Some players get more used to it. 40% from the free throw line is atrocious though lol
Not a coincidence at all about the small forward.. it’s the most hybrid position and does everything which would be why a real dominant small forward probably changes the game more than any other (Bird/Lebron/Giannis/Durant/Kawhi -- This is of course up for debate especially after Currys latest performance) most capable of leading your team in all 5 categories in the playoffs
The story of Denise Long is pretty cool. She played high school ball in Iowa where they played 6 on 6. Very cool way of playing and I think you should do a video on it.
Lol. I know there’s A LOT more to fighting than simply being big, but 6, 10 has gotta count for something, right? 😂 Would have had your hands full, but I get why you would want to
I don’t get the Scottie pippen Christmas Day thing. MJ shot 4% less from the field and 6 ppg more with similar stats all around. It’s not a sure thing at all
Even Hockey has very strict intent to injure rules that get people suspended for multiple games and give their team a 10 minute penalty in addition to that player being ejected. Hockeys a full contact sport that allows players to fight and run into other players while both are skating anywhere from 20-30ish Mph in different directions. The NBA is non contact, no fighting, and somehow dirty Bill managed to only get ejected once. You’d think it would be the opposite.
Fun fact: If James Harden makes the Playoffs every year from now up until the year he turns 40 years old then he will be the only player in NBA History to make the Playoffs 20 straight times without having a single season missing the Playoffs which would be an All Time NBA record.
