Do you get rented scooties in mauritius like in Goa? Was planning to rent a scooty and roam around Mauriritus for 4-5 days. (strangely did not see any scooty in the road scenes, only cars)

Yes, you get that but not many people take that because the distances are on higher side for 2 wheelers.
