The best thing about Akane's drum solos is that they are structured into the body of the composition of the song. In the past a lot of drum solos were the drummer just winging it. With Band Maid it's very different. Akane is very creative with her fills and can just work them into the song. She's also the happiest drummer on the planet. You have to see them live. I've seen them three times since October of 2022 and can't wait for them to come back. They sound exactly like what the videos sound like, but much more raw and filthy, without all the sound engineer enhancements. If you guys want to see some hard rock with a bit more of an edge, check out a South Korean hard rock band named Rolling Quartz. These ladies are fire and I almost kicked myself when I found about them just after they finished their 2023 US Tour. They might be coming back this year. You should also check out Gacharic Spin and Doll$Box, excellent female bands.

My request is Ash B and Young Ji - Girls Back Home I might even say that this one is even BETTER than Is This a Bad B Number and Wife! Say what?!
Speaking of crowd surfing, there is a clip of this very song on their 2018 DVD, Live at Zepp Theater, where Saiki floats out into the audience and sings after the guitar solo. It's not as polished as this rendition due to all the crowd shenanigans, but the energy is insane.
Wanna see wild fans? In your free time, watch a few seconds of fan cams from the Mexican show on their song “Don’t you tell ME.” Those are serious Maidiacs. My rating for “Freedom?” Musically, about a 7, but this is a 10 in the live show. This song is competing with some ridiculously strong songs in the Maid catalog. It’s in my top 50. My favorite artists for you to check out? Sticking with only current ones? Dorothy, Dirty Honey, Chris Stapleton. I’ve seen more concerts than I can remember. But Band Maid shows are completely different. They’re called “okiyujis,” or “servings” to keep with the Japanese maid tradition. Miku 🌹 has mandatory “Omajinai Time,” magic spell time, which is a call and response with the audience. Saiki and Kanami often take time to ask questions of audience members or teach them a Japanese word. Fans often give the Maids gifts. These stops in music are time they take to personally interact with the fans. And the fans feel like they are part of the show. Remembering that none of the Maids speak fluent English; they rely on smartphone translators to help them communicate. But they make that effort. All this results in that dedication of Maidiacs you guys have noticed. Guitar Hero version I play: real life on stage for the crowd.
The Maids performing one of their (two) most performed songs: Freedom and Real Existence. But the Maids in this MV are pure perfection, aren't they? I mean, what can you fault? And those faces... their attitude... their music... their playing... their story... and their joy! Band-Maid is a world treasure, imo!
