Thanks Kisi, I'm pleased you like it. It's strange the way one forgets the pain and is ready to enter another marathon. I have Boston in April, and then after that I don't mind not doing another. But who knows...
Great time. Well done. I believe that Sydney overtakes NYC marathon for elevation gain in a major. Now that it will be an Abbott major in 2025 I hope the crowds will be better. It looked quite quiet for a lot of the race. Next year the race will be moved to August so maybe they will start it later in the day and hopefully that will encourage spectators. I ran NYC marathon earlier this month and the crowds were unbelievable. I get goosebumps remembering the wall of noise there. Sydney will really have to go up a gear to make it worthy of being a major. Nice video, thanks for sharing your experience.
Thanks for watching and commenting, Mark. It's a super course and certainly challenging. I gave the organisers feedback to suggest having more entertainment along Anzac Parade and Centennial Park to encourage more spectators to attend. It was a very early start, so a bit later in the morning would probably help. It's a little disappointing that we didn't get a WMM star retrospectively too, but that's what they always said.
Marvellous, thank you 😁I'm glad you like it, and isn't it great seeing the famous Elswick vest in locations around the world? There was one spectator who recognised and shouted to me - unfortunately I my camera wasn't rolling at the time.
@@Mick19822 It does, I suppose, but I don't really think about it at the time. If it was a really serious race where I was keen to get the best possible time I wouldn't carry the camera. But although I want to do well in the marathons I'm also keen to record them for my own memories of the events 🙂
Thanks for putting the video together decent time for such a hilly course, compared to New York and London there wasn’t much crowd although looked like a decent crowd at the finish. Nice to see some local for me running club runners in your video, its on my to run list for 2025 and or 2026.
I'm pleased you enjoyed it, Bevan. I'm certain that the amount of support will increase over the years as the event becomes more established on the WMM circuit and Sydneysiders becopme more aware of this globally recognised event. I'm sure you'll enjoy it when you do enter :)
Thanks for watching 🙂 I wouldn't recommend it really because you end up with only one camera view point. In addition, I like to get as steady a shot as possible so use my arm to absorb camera shake.
Brilliant video Simon, suddenly my marathon itch has re-appeared! Loved the oggy part😂

Well in Simon 🔥🔥. Get ready for Boston
Thanks Dominic, I'll be working on it 😁
Go on Elswick! Great video, Simon. Told you I’d watch on my break tonight 😁😎

@ it is indeed great seeing the vest in different countries! Well done on the race mate. Must add quite a bit more difficulty recording it also 😎

Nice video! Would you recommend filming with a chest or head mount for hands free recording?
