- John Murphy, the man who welcomed me from the field calling my games and into the broadcast booth with open arms. I learned so much from him. I will always cherish the memories from the booth with his iconic calls and all the laughs we shared. Never would have imagined the Bears Christmas Eve game in 2022 would be our last call, but I look forward to many great times ahead.

There were a few words here & there I had trouble understanding from Murph, but I completely understood what he was articulating in every sentence. I understand why his voice is not fit at the moment to do the games, but #BillsMafia cannot lose Murph’s passion & perspective on this team. He is such an important piece of the fan base.

Thank you for doing this, Eric. And thank you for letting your feelings show. I am one of those people who really does turn down the TV and listen to the radio. For me, John Murphy is still the voice of the Bills. So many, many memorable calls from over the years are still in my head and I will miss them. Listening to you on the current broadcast it's easy to tell you learned from a great one. I'm looking forward to whatever he can contribute going forward! Go Murph!
