I would agree there. I'm a die hard 70's rock/blues guitarist (amateur) but recently I've worked through some Oasis songs and realised the brilliance and skill that is there in his compositions. Together with the bands unique style of delivering those songs that created such mass appeal and deserved success is proof enough

Love hearing Noel’s recollections! As a life long Gallagher brothers fan, I now understand why Noel’s doing what he’s doing - it makes him happy and that comes across in the music. He’s written some incredible music in the last 10 years, after he’d written incredible music in the previous 10 years. Love it all!

@Station View Owen Morris was the one who projected that Oasis sound in the studio. Without him Oasis would never have a identity sound we all know off today.
@@owenmartin3307 There's no much competition out there at the moment. Everyone sounds the same and certainly no real rock n roll out there.
once he started doing acoustic sets with oasis, I had a feeling sooner or later he was going to go solo. Liam just gave him that easy out in that fight.
The solo in Riverman is so transporting.

Been a huge fan of NG since 1994. Knebworth was biblical. When Lennon came on the screen during Live Forever, that was the highlight of my life. All my idols in one place.

He's tough on himself, which is his prerogative. But i think that's why he delivers the goods time after time; he doesn't settle for sloppiness.
I can remember buying the first NGHFB album, and without hesitation i knew it was going to be stellar. I listened to it a lot after it came out. Same went for the other two albums.
I knew Who Built The Moon was going to be good, because David Holmes was involved. It was superb, and the EP'S were pushing it up another couple of notches. I can't wait to see/hear what he comes up with next.

Noel's first 3 albums are such amazing albums that don't get the credit they deserve. Noel has changed the music he creates so much. He's one of the most talented musicians.
It's a shame If Love Is The Law didn't make this album.
If Love is the Law is probably one of the worst NGHFB songs.

can't get over the fact that half decent songs like this is the place or blue moon rising made the album and while the song remains the same didn't. that's EASILY top 3 NGHFB songs, i'd even put it at #1, right up there with everybody's on the run and the other gems
Couldn't agree more. Also, The Right Stuff is just mind blowing instrumentation and arranging. As much love as Noel shows for WBTM, Chasing Yesterday is his masterpiece in my opinion. Even the bonus tracks and b-sides all could have been singles.

First 2 albums are untouchable. And Noel was being too hard on himself, those tunes are top class!
Loving the best of album, very glad to have purchased it and i have to say it is definitely money well spent. I think all of the songs that Noel has chosen on the album are fantastic even the two new songs were on our way now and flying on the ground and it shows how much his songwriting has changed over the last 10 years, and why he will continue to be one of the best songwriters that England has ever produced and will continue to be, hopefully volume 2 will be good 10 years down the line and i will definitely purchase that one as well cause it will be brilliant as well as volume 1 that is for sure
