It took 5 years to build the world's largest liminal space
Technically 1 year because it was announced 4 years ago but only started destruction last year
@@SlushysSecret
Lol Disney announced it 4 years ago, and then started building it in 1 year. So 4 years of wasting time and one year of making a animatronic museum. So 5 years total. Stop defending a company who doesn’t know how to do anything right anymore
@@RogueAgent17They aren’t defending anything just correcting the information. 😂
@@RogueAgent17 Those 4 years include the one year of making an animatronic museum lol, if you weren’t so focused on typing fast without even thinking about the correction you would’ve realized I wasn’t praising this company or the ride at all 😂
It makes sense when you realize there is a revolving door between Walt Disney Imagineering and the architecture and design firm Gensler. Which is noted for all these modern empty “liminal space” abominations. Just looking at nuEpcot you can see it comes from Gensler people. Famous for making everything look like an empty cafeteria. Without the charm, function, or food.
Someone said this ride needs a villain, but it already has the most evil villain of all. Mr. Budget Cut!
Mr Bob Ogre
But only that the lead creative left mid way due to bs.
My mom jokes that the “ghosts of the briar patch” are haunting the ride. 😂😂
It’s sad that Disney spent so much time on this and it’s having such a rough start…. And I still think Tiana deserved her own new ride- not an overlay on an old one.
I love that. From now on my canon will be the ghosts of the briar patch are haunting Tiana's ride.
The reason why it’s closing so much right now is because even though there previews. It’s still in testing hopefully Disney will iron these malfunctions out. 🤞
@@user-ds5cx1ky2vthey need to add wayyyyyy more animatronics to get back up to par with splash. There's better more advanced animatronics sure but they pale to the variation and lively atmosphere that the original had.
lol. “The story doesn’t make any sense, the animatronics are broken.”
8.5/10??? HOW?
IKR? That sounds like a 6.5/10 tops if you want to be really charitable and give them the benefit of the doubt, but probably more like 5/10 in its current state.
Anything's possible when you sellout to the Mouse.
He's a die hard liberal who can't give a negative rating to anything considered woke.
Pixie Duster influencers need to keep their access.
ive heard that while the story doesnt make sense, and some animatronics like to break the scene around the area is a lot better, while there is a lack of sheer animatronics the scenery is much better. Thats why a lot of people are rating this decently high despite its downfalls. (also splashs story wasnt really known till the controversy started so its not a huge point of contention)
Disney needs to actually talk and listen to guests more to know what they actually want and need. That’s one thing universal has been doing so well with their surveys and social media
*Listen to their actual paying guests and not social media police 🙄
Bob Iger says “the only thing that I offer paying customers is ‘fuck you’ and you’ll like it”
If Disney is still getting crowded day after day then I think Disney’s happy. Who gives a sh!t what a couple of people who live in there parents basement says.
@@user-ds5cx1ky2v uh okay?
Carowinds is a local small park near us and they are fantastic.
Disney upped their prices and dropped their quality? I'm shocked.
And hired worse people
Yet still they sell out park tickets every day
That’s why universal>disney.
I just started a war
"we built this whole area to watch the show, but you cant actually stand there to watch, also there is absolutely no shade"
do these people actually go outside ever?
Noooo LOL
I was sick at Hollywood studios three years ago while waiting for slinky dog. Didn’t realize there was no shade. How they haven’t learned idk
I am not rushing to WDW to see this failure. Disney does not deserve my money right now. Universal all the way!
NEW NAME: "Tiana's Busted Bayou"
Pretty soon, all the animatronics will freeze and Disney will have to flood the ride with flashing lights to create the illusion of movement as they did with the Matterhorn and rename it “Tianna’s Disco Adventure”.
Disney has become a F*CKING joke. Ten years ago, I never thought I would ever say that.
They pushed out all the Imagineers who were supposed to be mentors to the younger generations. They're reaping what they sowed.
the sad thing is you know that providing more shade in Epcot was discussed at one point and someone said..NO! Who is going to stand out there and bake except the vloggers
I reccomend going during winter. i went during decemeber and it was only super cold during after hours.
These videos I am seeing of the decline of Disney World are saving me tons of money. Haven't been to the parks in over a decade and I can't imagine ever going again.
Did they ask a five year old, "What would you like to do at Disney World? "PLAY GIANT CONNECT FOUR!!!"
Holy sh1t, right? 😆 Not just Connect 4, but YUGE Connect 4. The biggest Connect 4 anyone's ever seen.
I can't believe how much they budget cut Communicore Hall. Instead of having exhibits and artwork, you know - things that you want to explore and interact with, like the old Communicore, it looks like a hotel lobby
Even that's too generous. It looks like the snack area at a convention center home show. Apparently the food is equivalent too...
Looks like an airport to me
I don't remember them running logs so close together when it was Splash Mountain. At most you might see one log ahead, of you, never three in a block zone. I bet this is an attempt to increase capacity and it's not working well.
I hope they got the extended warranty.
What a waste of money. Wow, the whole area to me is pure disappointment. They should have left it as is because its a pure waste. Very disappointment to disney
Connect 4 and corn hole is what I expect at the pool deck at the resort not in the theme park.
Honestly..for the amount I pay to go to Disney I better not see a game of flarkin' cornhole anywhere 😄
Retirement home vibes
I’ve gotten to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure twice. I rode a few minutes before Drew the Theme Park Dude and I had similar malfunctions as the ones he had that were shown in this video. Louis was working on my ride through but every frog animatronic in the former Laughing Place was frozen. I rode again on Sunday because I wanted to get the full experience and not have a bunch of figures down. Right before my group got called it went down for 2 hours. When it came back up the line was crazy but it only took me like 15 minutes to get on the ride. I had a perfect ride through that time. I guess the best time to ride is right after it reopens after a breakdown because nothing has gotten the chance to break yet.
it's very disappointing to see a company with so much money do so little for their fans/customers. everything there looks cheap and overpriced. but hey, at least they have physical maps (even if the aren't fully updated lol).
Every time I see Peter I know there’s gonna be a hooterade reference at the end. 😂
And this is why we go to universal, they truly know what fans want
Universal has their own problems, but at least their creative appears to be trying. Disney is just phoning it in 90% of the time.
I think people are just blinded by their love for Disney and are to forgiving this ride is not a 8 out of 10, people complain about so much and to not lose their privilege they go and say its wonderful, thats why i don't trust most access Media.
I agree sadly. I give the ride a 2/10. Maybe a 1. They messed up so bad😭
The amount of sadness had in the laughing place was too dang high.
I'm not sure how you were able to give this ride such a high score considering all the issues you experienced. Something doesn't smell right...
How can you be a chef in Louisiana and be friends with the animals? What do they think goes in gumbo?
*Five Nights At Tiana's*
On the first night, nothing happens. You quit the next day. With that, you have successfully 100% completed Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
How on earth is this ride already breaking down? What will it be like in 5 years?
My guess is it won't be around in 5 years if that long.
A most fitting metaphor for Iger/Chapek-era Disney indeed. 🙃
People let Josh off too much. Dude absolutely sucks at his job
"You can't mess up this ride." - Uhh....
I bet its BRER RABBIT in a GHOST
The curse is real
I'm a little sad that the imagineers stopped imagining. All of this new stuff looks so weak and phoned-in.
Then you look at Disney sea and get upset
That visable broken wrist freaked me out. They need from the Tiki Room for old fashioned staying power.
The Encanto show looks like a Six Flags show!
As a former performer and entertainment director for Six Flags, you're spot on. We were given almost no budget for our shows and this looks about the level we were able to achieve.
THIS is exactly why I keep on saying that the other vloggers demanding an opening date for the Disneyland version to cool it down a bit. I say, let them take their time.
Let them cook 🫡 By opening stuff early can back fire
I rode on the 14th; Waited 20 minutes with no issues. They still have 10 days until official opening, so hopefully they can figure out any outstanding issues. I would also suspect part of a soft opening would be testing evacuations, and what not, though there are clearly issues with the ride currently.
I must have watched 5-6 different videos/povs, everyone has had a completely different animatronic issue.
And this ride isn’t even a year old
Just a month or two, right?
Given the notorious budget cuts I doubt they’ll be met
I watched a Ride POV where Mama Odie at the end died standing up.
I still say the ride should have just followed the plot of the movie
It would fit just fine with this ride especially with the drop
You mean hiring a bunch of mediocre imagineers to replace an iconic ride isn’t a good strategy? How shocking
Thank you for bringing up the DAS issues. I dread my phone call coming up soon for my upcoming trip. Anxiety and stress make my issues worse! I always enjoy your videos and generally agree with your thoughts and opinions
There was a point Monday that momma Odie broke down and went face down in the water.
Source?
She jumped in the ride vehicles on Tuesday though talking about Marrying someone's dad.
When we went for Tiana’s pass holder preview on 6/14, it was a quick walk on and the ride was smooth and fun. All the animatronics were working great and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I will say that we got lucky though. As soon as our log came back to the loading area, the ride broke down. We went for the 1 pm virtual queue as we couldn’t get a magic kingdom park reservation for that day, but I guess that was for the better. Booked Epcot instead and got to ride cosmic rewind in the morning and took the monorail to magic kingdom for tiana’s in the afternoon. Awesome day!
The ride looks super cute 😀
Another theme park youtuber ride the front tow of the log on Tianas bayou. As they were going up the lift to the big drop the people in the log in front of them was singing "are you ready!" Disney failed and they know it
Im glad they didnt refurb spaceship earth they would've stuck ips in it
Jesus Christ
Someone actually fainted waiting in line
I guess this is too much to hope for but they can’t have an enclosed que with AC?!
5 years for cornhole is wild
Thank you for always keeping it real!!! I love your channel because you tell it like it is and hopefully someone (From DISNEY) will listen!!! I doubt it but a girl can dream….
20:04 - you’re actually wrong and it’s shown on the blueprints for splash. For example the trap scene and the million dollar bunny both had sensors, heck even the “briar patch?” At the top of the lift hill was on a sensor. In most cases these effects on tianas have been suffering problems with the movement itself and I think it’s something to do with this new motor tech being slapped in figures without the due time taken to ensure they’re ready to perform
HHN’s newest house.. The Bayou… Will you make it out alive or will you be the main course at Tiana’s Palace? 😈
disney just wants quantity not quality. That’s why Universal is better.
tiana hack? bring an umbrella for your hours standing in line in the hot sun. You'll be surprised at how much an umbrella can help if you're out in the sun.
A neck fan is great too
@@therealventures definitely!
I'm surprised they aren't selling decorated "Second Line" umbrellas like they used to stroll in New Orleans before AC.
@@hanonondricek411 that's a good idea - a tiana parasol
man imagine waiting hours in the burning Florida sun and then the ride gets shut down and you get evacuated :o but ofc do not take it out on the cast, but this ride doesn't look finished in those videos xp
It honestly doesn't surprise me. They changed production staff during the construction. They rushed it out without a solid plan or story line. Disney is loosing money and this is just one example. This and so many others. What they thought was a positive change for their "inclusion' while single handedly ruining themselves. There's a reason so many people hate Disney now.
All that beautiful concept art for Epcot and this is what they did 😮
Disney should have never made Communicore Hall it’s god awful. 5 years that’s why the walls were up!
atleast we got spaceship earth cornhole LMFAOOOO
@@KevinHeimbach that’s the best part! 🤣
Love you're pod casts
The lift to the drop being boring is such a failure of the ride i think, that and the fact every bit of dialogue is "they can play" makes the entire retheming boring as hell... but of course its still splash mountain so the actual log flume part will never be bad
They didn't give a shit about fixing it, they only cared about getting the Brer's out!
1:28 Oh trust me, they purposefully design it like that to get you hot enough to want to buy drinks from the park.
I miss awesome things like the Electric Umbrella architecture
They shoulda put Dr. Facilier on the lift hill. The coolest villain for the coolest part of the ride.
‘Welcome to the birthplace of Figment’
Epcot certainly earned that one.😂😂😂 Best shade thrown all day. Thanks ❤
I would be interested in a video about your recent experience with Crohn’s, how you’ve been doing, medications, managing it in the parks, etc. I originally found your channel from your Crohn’s video. I have Crohn’s too and also did the DCP 😊
My guess is the new electronics are more fine tuned and sensitive to power fluctuations. Maybe they didn’t want to upgrade the breaker panels/ banks / filters to smooth out the 3 phase and provide overall cleaner power to many moving parts of this ride.
Thank you for always keeping your reviews real!
Of course!!
“I understand why they got rid of it”
I do as well but it’s all BS and never should’ve been changed.
Want to give Tiana her own ride? Fine, don’t replace a ride that was immensely popular to do it….
Just came back from a trip to Tokyo Disney and my goodness! Why is it that a park not owned nor operated by Disney can run a better Disney park than the company whose name is plastered everywhere?? 😂 OLC for the win!!
Did you noticed that the car was the gangster car from The Great Movie Ride
"Say hello to the birthplace of Figment" And now I am trying to get all the bits of muffin I spit-take-laughed out of my keyboard. Bravo, good sir.
Disney: ok, Universal is overtaking us in ticket sales and quality of experience, what do we do?
Also Disney:
💁♂️ backrooms
I don't think Universal is doing as well as you believe, they are also laying off a large amount of staff but no one says anything because they aren't Disney.
@cassidystarchild7907 better to lay off some staff for now while expanding than pay them an unlivable wage under the poverty line
Was able to get on Tiana’s Bayou, but the queue for guests with disabilities is TERRIBLE! You literally feel like they’ve forgotten about you. Hoards of people passed by in the foot line and we sat outside for what seemed like forever. One concerned cast member took it upon himself to alert the ride attendants, and he personally set out make sure that we all FINALLY made it to the ride. We also were a bit disappointed in the sensor system, and the backstory was weak at best. Wish it followed the movie more. The colors were beautiful, and the added slide was fun. Don’t think I’ll wait that long again. I’m ok with a one and done on this one.
i love the random ordinaryadventures cameos in these videos lol
What the heck is Disney doing? This is more reminiscent of a Six Flags. We need Oriental Land Company (owners of Tokyo Disney) to buy WDW. Tokyo rocks because the owners are willing to spend to get quality. Disney should be ashamed that a privately owned park constantly outshines their 100% corporate owned one.
Glad to see ordinary adventures!
Today's Disney Co reflects the nature of its CEO: A greedy, dishonest, unscrupulous, politicized guy. It's not just one thing (Tiana or otherwise) that reflects that, it's almost everything.
9:59 bro was so excited to be filmed😂
I’m the grand reveal at the 5:50 mark. 🤣🤣🤣. I didn’t even know you were there filming. I was so disappointed.
It was a toasty day LOL
Yes - it was! FYI - disappointed in the area and not you. 😂
The random dude in the background in the line : 🙂👍
What a shit show.
Gawd, that "planter".
It would have felt so much more alive with a fountain that intermittently performed to music.
I did the CM preview. We waited 4 hours after our timeslot passed because the ride wasn't working. When the ride finally started working again, they announced that everyone with 11am-12pm slots would have to come back another day. The ride was working just fine too at that point
sounds like my first shot at the CM preview. 4 hours, they opened the line, then they dumped it and said it was down for the night.
@@shine311 that's unfortunate. For my day, we were the only group kicked out. Everyone else there got to ride. It was a pretty awful decision. I'm not a CM, but I'm happy that I was invited out for it. Did you get to ride yet? I was going to go today, but I couldn't get into the VQ
What in the Six Flags did they do to CommuniCore.
Ya know which animatronics never broke down? That would be SPLASH MOUNTAIN animatronics!
The condition of Mission Space is unbelievable.
When all else fails, bring a camping chair 🪑 right Kevin?
I’d be one of the people collapsed waiting for EMT. You couldn’t pay me to go through all that for any ride let alone this one lol
what sucks is all this heat is going probably still gonna be here during the fall which means hhn lines will be dreadful 😭
Nothing screams Epcot like Cornhole.
"Everyone gather around the Cornhole for a photo!"
Innovation!!
Also I know the animatronics dont have a free mode..theyre on sequencers...on an old log ride...so the boats roaming on water and pace has SOOO much to do with this. They shouldve kept loops and sensors.
Idk why people keep talking about it breaking down like it's some monumental thing. I remember how often Galaxy's Edge broke down several times on its debut iirc. Half the rides at Disneyland broke down on opening day. This isn't very surprising. I guess it's just been getting more and more common as they try and make more rides, or something.
I was just at Disney and the Taina ride was down for a while. I was also disappointed that the floor lights in Epcot where not working. But the Guardians ride is the best ride I have ever been on. Even better than rise and I'm a Star Wars fan.
At this point it should be called Tianas breakdown adventure 😂
They ruined splash mountain only to make it break down more and look mediocre.
Kitra is who I wanna be but I can’t. I would go nuts in a line to an attraction that is half functional.
Walt Disney is turning over in his grave on the status of his parks! Epic Universe is going to be an issue go WDW
I can’t help but actually know that Disney is starting to cut corners. Plus, they’ve just made Disney way more stressful than it was before, Universal Studios is somehow topping Disney everyday😂
Yeah that’s got to be the most troubling ride after Test Track 1.0.
And that’s why concept art is better
The other huge issue with all these breakdowns is that there are many others, like myself, who traveled 3,000+ miles on the assumption "Disney will have enough slots for all passholders to ride" (I mean, why else would they allow riding multiple days if they didn't assume there would be more than enough to go around), who never won an afternoon lottery because the morning breakdowns were nullfying the pool of reservations for the afternoon queue. You didn't even mention the one day (Tuesday) that all of us got messages on our phones around noon telling us there wouldn't even be a 1pm lottery. Never seen that before.
So while the ride breakdowns themselves are a disappointment, I think the bigger story here is the general mismanagement that created this scenario where Disney is (again) breaking trust with their closest supporters. I was ready and willing to give the new ride a chance, but I (and many, many others, based on the sub-1-second times the afternoon queue disappeared) didn't even get that privilege, due to poor event planning on Disney's part.
The Epcot Expansion area looks like a small park that you would see built into a college or something. Like... wtf is that lol Major joke.
Epcot is a mess. Im not impressed with what they did. Tiana's literally has a curse 😂 its having problems, it has the WORST controversy of any ride retheme, the story is bad, you can tell Disney rushed it for Summer. Yes its still a water ride, but at least a ride like Dudleys at Universal is fun and has a lot to offer, vs Tianas broccoli mountain.
The ride will be officially opened on june 28th . I hope theses issues will be fixed by then. Tick tock the clock is ticking.
When we rode it in the afternoon on Father’s Day, we managed to get through the whole ride without anything noticeable going wrong. Today (6/20) we tried again, and the ride got shut down while we were in the line after our group was called. We have a pass to come back later today if we want assuming they are able to open up again.
