Many modern homes don't have basements, he might as well risk selling a vid to fox weather.

His step daughter said (on Twitter) that he was at a golf course. The clubhouse was locked, so he didn’t have anywhere to go.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me that up until about 20 years ago, the vast majority of tornadoes hit the Midwest. Since then, tornadoes in large numbers are hitting many other areas: the Gulf Coast, Georgia, the Carolinas and even States I never used to associate with tornadoes, such as Illinois, Pennsylvania and even New York. The climate really seems to have changed; whether it's Global Warming or something else, I don't know.

There have always been tornados in the Midwest and even out east. Georgia is a higher risk state. There is no known link relating tornado intensity or frequency to climate change. They think tornado alley may be moving more east but this is only based on a snapshot of weather data. Tornados weren’t actually fully understood until relatively recently. Illinois has always been a tornado state. In fact it’s top 10 almost every year. It probably places around 5 in tornado frequency on any given year.
