I'm native german speaker and listen just for fun to this. It may improve your listening skills, but there some sentences that never said like this in Germany, for example 24:59 "Die Regensaison naht". There is nothing like a "rainy season" in Germany. And also 12:48: The study of "Computer Science" is not translated when speaking german, it's called "Computer Science" in german too, not "Computerwissenschaften". 34:21 "Es ist mir ein Vergnügen", it's correct, but no one ever say this in Germany, people would say something like "Gern geschehen", or "Gerne" or "Bitte" or "Selbsverständlich"
@Pepo G Well, you would rather say "es war mir ein Vergnügen" after someone says "thank you". "Es ist mir ein Vergnügen" just isn't something to say in a normal conversation. "Mit Vergnügen" would by possible though.

The problem with such language courses is that it ignores the role of word order, and so it becomes a matter of memorization rather than thought. The critical task in learning a language properly is learning how to think in that language. For example, German does not ask "What is your name?", German asks "What call you (self)?" German does not ask "What's up?", it asks "What goes?".
@@montanacreed5826 when I took French, our teacher did everything in French from day one. But from my experience, it takes a lot of time to think in another language.
@@chantyclause Same as my German teacher. Everything in German - pointing at familiar objects and using the German word. Helped us realise the similarities and demystified it a bit. Later he just English to explain more complicated things.
@@chantyclause Well, I first learned German in the Berlitz School of Languages in total immersion with my teacher. This was one-on-one instruction. Only German was spoken there. That was Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with three 45-minute sessions for six months. It did not include grammar learning. You learn like a child learns it from his parents. It eventually "comes" and makes sense. I learned enough to get around Germany on many trips there trying to put myself in situations that required me to speak and listen to the language. After living there for two years, I took two years (4 semesters) of formal or High German in college. This is where I was forced to learn the grammar. There are some rules but not always. The grammar is not so easy but to conjugate sentences properly you have to learn it. One of the difficulties of learning German is that you do have Genders like in English. Our English is much less complicated because inanimate nouns and pronouns are usually Neuter (but there are a few exceptions). In German every noun and pronoun must be learned and memorized along with its Gender. This is where Der (masculine), Die (feminine), Das (neuter), and the prefixes of every noun and pronoun must be memorized. Knowing this is critical for properly conjugating the sentence. Having said that, I will tell you that German people will be able to understand you even when you make mistakes. So don't worry! People there are to than happy to help you out and actually love that you are trying to learn their language!

This is a very helpful video, thanks! It would be great if the translations much more literal though. This is a very helpful video, thanks! It would be great if the translations much more literal though. It is better to have them sound slightly odd to english speakers so that we can see how german is really spoken, than to have it sound perfect in english. For example, instead of "Thank you", "Vielen dank" should probably be translated "Much thanks", that way it is much more litteral, and one can learn to understand the words as well, instead of just the phrases.
Thanks for the great video!
Second that. Wish it was more literal, I’d like to know what words I’m actually learning/using. For this reason I am not a big fan of the video.

It is fun and I love learning German, I just do not see the need in a1 stuff to be using nuclear science and quite a few other things here but the rest was fun and nice to see and learn.
Good methodology, I liked !!
@Hello Nelson how are you doing?
Cool, danke. Brauch ich vielleicht irgendwann Mal in nem Vorstellungsgespräch oder so
Kann zwar deutsch aber habs mir trotzdem angeguckt 😃👍🏼
Hi I am 44 and I love this video.
Vielen Dank für dieses Gesprächsvideo. Es ist so viel besser als nur Wörter, weil das Bilden korrekter Sätze für mich etwas verwirrend ist.😁💕💕
Entweder, du hattest Hilfe bei deinem Satz, oder du hast doch keine Problem mit dem Satzbau 😅 dein Satz ist vollkommen korrekt 👍
@@comprehensibleGERMANi Lol danke für das Kompliment. Ich lebe in Deutschland, lerne aber immer noch Deutsch.
@@hausofrlateish vielen dank!!
Thank you so much for this content!! I'm going through all kinds of app trying to learn and just hear the words to be familiarized and this has definitely been my savior! Vielen dank!
In the program, does the videos will repeat until such time were familiar to the sentences? What I am worried about is, what if we become bored if we see the same situation or maybe you have a different approach in the program to make the lesson become fresh again every time we study the situations. Thank you for the amazing content.
Das ist toll 😊
This is really useful, thanks.

You actually remembered you are not really German! Great! Moving forward
Thanks for slowing it down. If only native speakers spoke slower like this!! I was able to listen/read and respond before the person answered. This wasn't overwhelming at all!
