Hi lads! Found your pod by chance and I'm liking that I'm hearing.
Just a few notes on the current Boks and why I think the selections has been what it is:
    - We abolished the ban on overseas players due to the poor ROE of the South African Rand, which means that a huge number of our players play their rugby for overseas clubs in Japan, France, England and Ireland. That, added to the URC franchises like the Bulls, Stormers, Lions and Sharks has had the knock-on effect of having a rather rich talent pool.
    - the world cup in 2023 could have been a huge disaster, given the injuries to Mapimpi, Pollard, Marx and Am. It gets worse, because we could have lost Malherbe, Kolisi and Du Toit permanently to injury before 2023. So Rassie has had some horrible luck and he would ideally like to avoid injury debacles in future.
    - While we are building a squad towards the 2027 world cup, in 2028 most of what you would call our first team will be retired by 2028. The list is staggering: Almost two entire front rows (Malherbe, Kitshoff, Mbonambi, Koch, Nyakane), 3 of locks (Etzebeth, Mostert, Kleyn) three loose forwards (Du Toit, Kolisi, Smith), two nines (Faf and Reinach), two centres (De Allende and Kriel), two wings (Kolbe and Mapimpi) and a fullback (Le Roux). It gets even worse when you realise that Pollard, Ox, Marx, Snyman and Am, would be at an age where they can retire at any time.
    - The implication to the above being that arguably the greatest Bok side in history can fall of the greatest cliff in history when this talent departs. Building depth now isn't a luxury; it is a necessity.
    - With the foolhardy direction World Rugby is taking towards trying to force the game towards more ball in play time, we have to adapt our game. This mental shift is evident with Tony Brown joining the crew. New game plan also means new criteria for selection and methinks they wanted to give some proper ballers a run.
Keep it up guys, I'm always on the lookout for some quality rugby content and input. Cheers.

It is so stupid that the Springboks are not playing Ireland. Boks could have gone for a grand slam .
Ireland is now part of the big boys. No doubt.
Finn Russell is my favourite home nations player and Scotland my favourite team up north. The Scottish people and the beautiful Scotland took my heart when I visited there 10 years ago

@@revenant2979 I was there too and fell in love with the place as well. I was settled in a small town and it was so damned chill there.
As for Ireland, I don't know why we didn't go for a Grand Slam. Both sets of fans want the rematch, so why not?

You can just feel the unhinged hatred that the guy on the left has for our beloved Springboks. I just dont know why.... why all these negativity for some of the most special players in the world??? I tell you I was shocked when he booed us in the beginning while using that hand gesture. He must come around right and quickly
