Great advice! We have almost a whole acre that we are creating different wildlife sanctuaries, and a lot of this info will be very helpful. One thing though, butterflies do not use those houses. You can stack limbs in different directions into a small mound, creating small cubbies that they will go into when the temps get too cold. Thank you so much for sharing!

I was about to comment on the butterfly houses as well. I've raised and released butterflies for many years now, but have never heard of the limb set-up for them before. Thanks for the idea!

Hedgehogs need access to gardens. This is one area a lot of garden designers do not encourage. When I see your programs with Titchmarsh and other garden design programs I’m left bewildered why this is never supported

Need to correct what you said about hedgehogs eating slugs, they actually make up a very small amount of a hedgehogs diet at around 2% which is a good thing when slugs & snails are a major cause of lungworm. A hedgehogs main diet is beetles & caterpillars, some worms too.

I love all your ideas and quite enjoyed your video. However, one thing bird experts say now is to Not put perches on the bird houses. When there's a perch, flying predators like crows can raid the nest.

We are lucky enough to have a hedgehog visiting our garden, some videos on my page. Don't think they have used our hedgehog house though sadly.

One summer I raised an assassin bug, and swear the little guy was fond of me. He always sat on my finger watching me and got pretty active any time I found an ant to feed him. He got killed when his jar accidentally turned over and he was crushed by pebbles.
