  • In this video I outline my experience with 'IBS' (which I believe is an umbrella term for any GI issues with an unknown cause). I describe the onset and progression of my disorder and outline the avenues I've explored in order to remediate my issues, some beneficial, some not, and others outright ridiculous. Finally, I discuss how I finally discovered the root cause of my GI distress and what my course of treatment will be.

I had that GI map test done too. Lots of tests. I went to the IBS Treatment Center, telemedicine in 2022. I had IBS for 31 years. I have many food allergies/sensitivities, the IBS Treatment Center found. I am doing so much better now. I wish i could get those 31 years back- i missed out on so many things.......

Same. Walk in clinic. You have IBS. No scope. I'm now 51 and just got a GI doc. Finally getting a scope. Neg for celiac. Keep in mind I've been in healthcare for. 20 + years. Husband is an RN. I know all the GI anatomy, help insert G- tubes, GJ tubes, biliary drains etc... and I never persisted, insisted or pursued a more detailed workup. Like you at the time, I was like....I'm young this will just go away. Or, ok it's IBS. It's all stress related. Finally when I hit 50 I was convinced I needed help. I'm dead listening to your story about the homeopathic visit. 😆 Hey, at some point you're willing to try anything!! 😂

I went to a holistic doctor and found out that I had a mold mycotoxin called Ochratoxin A. And a SIBO test which came back with 3 different gases checked and they were all abnormal high. All of this happened when I first got C diff. I live with chronic bone pain. DDD. Interstitial Cystitis. Chronic Gastritis, GERD. Could all of these conditions be related.

What was the name of the supplement that helped to drain the digestive system? I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Doug! Haven’t seen more than a few of your videos. Just in case you haven’t realized it yet - there’s a link between ADHD and IBS. Way more prevalent in people with ADHD. In the process of getting diagnosed with ADHD myself and had IBS for a couple of decades. Cheers!

Omg! Your story is so similar to mine. Thanks for sharing.
I had cdiff. I recovered quickly but the post infectious IBS is a nightmare. For the past 7 years I have been trying to fix it. This sounds weird but Lifeway kefir has been helping a little. I also eliminated gluten. Fortunately, I can eat dairy but have so many food intolerances (popped up after cdiff). The list of things I can't eat is ridiculous.
I'm going to try to meal spacing. Got to get that migrating motor complex going.
When a doctor prescribes an antibiotic, they should really counsel on taking certain probiotics such as saccharomyces boulardii or fermented foods. It is crucial to repopulating the GI with good bacteria. Also, there some antibiotics that can really do you in....Clindamycin, Cephalosporins. etc. They should be the last resort.
