Came back to watch this because I feel like this is one of the best Death Battles for one reason: it captured the spirit of both characters. The Terminator was a ruthless assassin with no morals and one mission, RoboCop a one man army who tried to stop a criminal robbing a store, and the plot twists were great too. The hydrogen fuel cell the end is the one that gets me still. I loved it and hope that more Death Battles can capture the spirit of the characters being contested as well as this one did!
i wanted robocop to win but it ruined it for me when terminator ran out of shots, i doubt a terminator would misjudge the ammo capacity of ANY weapon! it just feels like you gave robocop a leg up in that regard and he doesnt need it..
@@richardhobbs7360 No, it didn't The animation doesn't actually matter. They calculate the winner beforehand, the animation's just a fun way to visualize their argument. Plus, they showed quite extensively that Robocop has superior durability to an absurd extent.
I know I'm late on this, but the T-800 in T2 actually tried firing his lever action shotgun when it was out of ammo at the T-1000. So it is definitely possible for him to misjudge something like that if he's focused on something else at the time.
Terminator learning to feel isn't _that_ far fetched when you consider the replicants from Blade Runner having limited lifespans specifically to prevent them from becoming too human as well. But even then that timespan's four whole years, meaning it takes them at least that long, making Terminator's a mighty fast learner!
In the director's cut of T2, the Terminator explains this by stating that Skynet activates a kind of "limited learning" mode on their CPU before sending them out on independent missions, because it doesn't want to run the risk of them becoming sentient and going rogue. John wants to enable his full capabilities, and the Terminator walks him and Sarah through how to do it. This makes sense, since Skynet itself became self-aware within an hour of being brought online. Obviously a Terminator has less processing power than a supercomputer network like Skynet, so the process takes longer, but taking that reduced computing power into account, it makes sense that the Terminator could reach that state within the matter of days that T2 takes place.
@@nessdragon His CPU is in a "read only" mode, so all he is capable of doing is following what's already programmed. They took it out, flipped it to read and write and that's when he began learning. Still not capable entirely of showing emotions. Though that is kind of in question after Genysis when he says to "Protect my Sara".
@@snyperwulffgaming9575 It can't be in a full "read only" mode, because we do see the T-800 in the first movie learning things like new phrases. However, its capacity to learn is clearly limited. My guess is that functions that would permit the Terminator to infiltrate more successfully are permitted to read/write, but any functions that could lead to actual sentience and questioning of orders are locked down.

10 reasons why there should be a RoboCop vs. Terminator movie. 1. They’ve already crossed over in comic books and in a video game. Just not on the big screen which would be a pretty big deal. 2. Both film franchises have gone downhill. A cinematic showdown has potential to revitalize both of them in more ways than one. 3. Not only would it have exciting action, it would have iconic one-liners. “Dead or alive, you’re coming with me,” and “I’ll be back,” to name a few. 4. It could perform well at the box office. A movie about the two greatest cyborgs of the 80’s would interest old and new fans. 5. Hollywood gave us Godzilla vs. King Kong, Freddy vs. Jason, and Alien vs. Predator. Who’s to say they can’t give us RoboCop vs. Terminator? 6. RoboCop Returns will be a sequel to 1987’s RoboCop. It’s the perfect opportunity to merge it with the Terminator universe. 7. It would be a dream match come true. For years, people have been debating as to which machine would win in a fight to the finish. 8. It would be a story that writes itself. Skynet sends a Terminator back in time to old Detroit to terminate OCP’s RoboCop for whatever reason. 9. They can always use CGI to de-age Arnold Schwarzenegger. It’s been done in the last three Terminator flicks, including Dark Fate. 10. They used one of the Terminator themes for one of the RoboCop trailers. Maybe there were plans for a crossover back in the day.
I agree the only thing is the last 2 robocop films sucked and the last 2 terminator films sucked the last to predator films sucked to so they should do a terminator vs robocop vs predator movie and we can prey they don't screw it up.
OMG Girl There’s a theory that Terminator and Predator are set in the same universe. Schwarzenegger was in both franchises and it’s possible that the T-800 was modeled after Dutch. Cyber-Dutch was a character in the Aliens vs. Predator arcade game. His serial number was CDS-170A3, and CDS stands for Cyberdyne Systems. Schwarzenegger was supposed to appear in the Alien vs. Predator movie as a cyborg Dutch but couldn’t due to scheduling conflicts.
If they do make it it cant have arnie it would just be endos and you would have to know robocops backstory so the audience isnt big enough to warrant it
so having come back to this I noticed something with Robocop's fighting and how it differed from the terminator. His consistantly used his pistol in a variety of ways while the terminator kept discarding his weapons once out of ammo or damaged. While I'm not sure it directly impacted the fight their ways of treating their weapons actually can be see in battles even without guns. Part of weapon mastery is being able to see and use your weapon as an extension of yourself much like Robocop did. While the termnator clearly only saw them as tools. Perhaps that too can be down to the fact robocop is still half human and knows the value of that concept.
Terminator made in China lmao it didn’t aim at robocop’s human parts. If for some reason this happened in real life the terminator would’ve won within seconds of the fight starting.
I think terminator would win just because of its plasma rifles remember robocop it has steel and kevlar protecting and I don't think steel and kevlar is gonna resist a blast that is around the suns temperature side note: how did robocop survive the blast his mouth is exposed he would've been burnt to a crisp
By the way just wanted to say this the reason why RoboCop is the only person who has the auto 9 is because it literally has so much recoil and firepower that it could potentially blow your arm off if you fired all 50 rounds here's what would happen it would either break your arm backwards at a right angle which is kind of impossible but it could happen or would blow your arm off from the force of the kickback of firing all 50 rounds at once

wouldint it be cool if wiz and boomstick did an entire season of just remakes of their old battles? this one would really awesome Edit: I think the winner of this one will still win if there was a remake
my head-cannon's just that sky net would use the Arnie model so that if it came across a malnourished, nearly dead skeleton of a man (as would be common in that type of dystopia) they'd look up and just think"yea there's no way I'm gonna win against Broly" plus being strong would definitely help kill people
DB forgot about Robo's constant glitches, it's as if OCP installed their equivalent of Windows 95. In the first movie, he glitched while pursuing a criminal. In the second movie, he glitched again after losing his right hand and gave the bad guys enough time to take him down. Then, in the third movie, he glitched once more after taking a grenade hit. Sure, he tanked the blast, but the subsequent system failure put him out of action for days. The Terminator T-800 on the other hand, will still retain its cognitive functions even after losing half of its body and continue to pursue its target.
Look while I can agree with this to an extent DB puts both characters at there peak and the whole glitches thing happened so rarely between robocops time In the service that it those glitches were rare so I seriously doubt it would kick in at a time between the terminator
RoboCop is hard to get down, but once he's down he's not getting back up. Terminator goes down more easily, but keeps coming after you, again and again.

This episode is so epic. It deserves a polish and a reanimation. Such possibilities.
Looking at the battle again, makes me notice that Robo Cop’s weaponry is also more versatile while Terminator’s seems more heavy weapons and close ranged weaponry
one question is robocops battery pack lithium ion? cause if it is good thing it's never taken a hit or he'd self destruct from the impending fire from the battery going up
Robocop is better for a cop, Terminator is better for out right destruction

The final scene where he puts the Terminator in the jetpack while Terminator music was playing was just so poetic.

That's because Chad has to change his voice to make Boomstick's voice, he's just adjusted it so it's less murder on his throat. Meanwhile Ben just talks normally and that's why Wiz more or less sounds the same, maybe a bit different now that they have better equipment
@@SurotaOnishi And if you watch the very first Death Battles Boomstick sounds way different
It was a running theory in the community that boomstick and wiz had been voiced by one guy in the earliest death battles
If ever there was a battle that deserved to be remastered, it’s this one.
Also remember, Robocop survived present day Detroit, a much more deadly environment than the Terminator's post apocalyptic future.

i wanted robocop to win but it ruined it for me when terminator ran out of shots, i doubt a terminator would misjudge the ammo capacity of ANY weapon! it just feels like you gave robocop a leg up in that regard and he doesnt need it..
Well the terminator can learn emotions so it is logical that would learn to feel anger after being stumped so many time
Stalwart Shinobi; the whole reason for that was the Terminator 2 reference
Mitchell Crego yes and it cause it to lose
YOU DONT MAKE A REFERENCE UNLESS IT HAS NO IMPACT
I thought the replicants were genetically/cybernetically enhanced clones with brains, not robots?
Wilred.
We need more Terminator death battles, especially T-3000 or T-X and other models!
You need it for what? So that you can like it’s some competition for superiority?
@@arcticangel1628 What even is your question? By your logic why do we need any death battles? Why even watch this channel? The whole premise of death battle is a competition for superiority.
@@ridokousennin8747 I mean it’s not a competition for superiority regarding which death battle video is better than the other. It doesn’t have to be. People constantly compare they want and like to something they don’t want and like. They can’t enjoy relax and enjoy what they like without thinking of something to be negative about. That’s the usual reaction of an average number of people when their wishes are granted.
I would love to see Cameron from Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles on a DB not only is she a T-800 type of an advanced model that being the Model-TN037(TSCC hints that she is a future advanced model of the T-800 variety aka she has the molten metal resisting endoskeleton made out of a dual Colton/Titanium alloy) that is capable of beating more advanced types then her like the T-1000 and other advanced types like the T-900 numerous times but she unlike the T-800 and T-850 that came before her she was programmed to be more human then them to the point that not only did she developed actual human emotions she actually developed romantic feelings for John Connor that were so strong that after he decided to save her by reinserting her chip after removing it due to her regaining her OG Skynet programming that she was able to overcome the OG Skynet programming and gained a moral compass to where not only did she have a respect for organic life including humans to the point where she would only terminate bad humans as a last resort but she told John that if she ever feels like she's about to slip and be taken over by her OG Skynet programming that she would activate the self-destruct function of her chip and self-terminate before she can become a as she put it "heartless killing machine".

Vladimir Manosalvas Yup
Hey, guess who's joining MK11?
@@Demon-sh2wc RoboCop is way too fast. Remember, he can shoot bullets out of the air

side note: how did robocop survive the blast his mouth is exposed he would've been burnt to a crisp
"haven't we done this before?"
"i have no record of a previous encounter"
"we have met i am sure of it"
By the way just wanted to say this the reason why RoboCop is the only person who has the auto 9 is because it literally has so much recoil and firepower that it could potentially blow your arm off if you fired all 50 rounds here's what would happen it would either break your arm backwards at a right angle which is kind of impossible but it could happen or would blow your arm off from the force of the kickback of firing all 50 rounds at once

What tax revenue from Big Auto? Most of them are gone and the ones left pay nothing.
Look while I can agree with this to an extent DB puts both characters at there peak and the whole glitches thing happened so rarely between robocops time
In the service that it those glitches were rare so I seriously doubt it would kick in at a time between the terminator
RoboCop is hard to get down, but once he's down he's not getting back up.

You have to admit the ending to the fight really felt like something straight out of a movie, I could actually see Robocop defeating a terminator in this fashion.
Well, I guess we can add, “fought and defeated the Terminator,” to Robocop’s feats list.
Perhaps though I wish that the Terminator would of just tried its best to keep a grip on Robocop in an attempt to bring him down with itself.
And that is why Robocop won. Even though he's been defeated a bunch of times, in all three movies, he survived. In contrast the T-800 model in each terminator was always destroyed, one way or the other.
