There is not a single overture that beats this. So powerful! I really need to sit up in the balconies one of these years… I always sit in F20 in the stalls which is directly under the chandelier. So fun to have it drop above your head but this image is priceless
haha my oldest cousin wanted me to sing Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again at HER funeral. then she changed it to Time To Say Goodbye by "Christine.''
I've been lucky enough to see the show 3 times now and the overture at the start is absolutely brilliant, then again so is the rest of the musical. Ten out of Ten every time.
Saw it for the first time with my partner, they have seen it so many times, I grew up on the 2004 movie and watching YT stage recordings! To see it finally with my favourite person was utterly spellbinding! 🖤🌹
I recently jsut watched this live in London but we wre not from London so we got lost and sadly we’re 15 minutes late so we missed this part. This video is so much reassuring now
bro we weren’t from there even if there are maps it’s not that easy to locate somewhere really dark? And the phantom of the opera live was a surprise for my birthday so how could I help- being from a small town then going to a big city ain’t easy dude
@Ellajade07 So you went when it was really dark, and what a lovely birthday present! Did you have to pick up the tickets from the box office or wasit via email-as you could of gone there a few hours beforehand picked up tickets then got something to eat then would of been in the area. I'm not from London, I'm in Kent but whenever I go theatre collect the tickets beforehand or if they are E-tickets just be in that same area at least 90 mins before it starts so not rushing about 🙂
@@bandeirarv i dont know!! But if you have the money i suggest going!! It is really good and while it might not be as good as the one which you speak of, it is still an experience that is always wonderful to relive!! Though i find the singing in this version more to my liking than other performances, my conclusion is that its worth watching eitherway

Dont like the new overture in London. The orginal overture was best before Cameron did the new version of Phantom the opera Its not theorginal chandelier also anymore Here its is the oginal overture in London before Covid ruclips.net/video/lTlML3ZllXU/видео.html
Just one word when it comes to the Overture: EPIC!!!!
it has been used in some live shows at Halloween Horror Nights. wow
I saw this on Saturday for the first time ever and I was so mesmerised. I will always have this engraved in my memory❤

I sat in the balconies around a decade ago when I watched it, can honestly say it is worth every moment
huh did you know toccata and fugue was the original phantom overture? muahah chew on THAT
When I die I want overture to be the end credits. The chandelier representing my soul returning to eternity.

33 years, 3 countries, 12 cities and over 20 shows…. This still gives me goosebumps!
OMG I JUST CAME BACK FROM THERE IT WAS SO GOOD I WAS AT THE EXACT THEATRE ASWELL
I went on August the 21st at HMT. It was amazing ! I even went fully suited and booted as the phantom 🎉
@@ROF26 that sounds so cool!! I hope you had fun!
@@Rusty_cutlery I did, thank you very much !

I like how this chandelier looks really similar to the one at the real Palais Garnier, the French opera house L'Opera Populaire is based on.
страхотно преживяване.Бях там на представлението на 14.11.2024.Неверотно.Това се помни цял живот.Неверотни изпълнители.С удоволствие бих отишла пак.
I enjoy this chandlier more than the original.
You saw it in the 80's????
masterpiece!!!

Can you point the camera higher next time I can still see the chandelier in the frame
what seat were you? royalty circle?
I knew when I saw it in 2022 I was in the front view (I think the royalty circle). Either way, I had a glass of champagne for that show.
Checkovs Chandelier.....
Did they update the Chandelier?!
Is this from the new cast?
YES

I saw this today with my fiance
feel bad for the people doing the sound getting zapped
and to think that Cameron Mackintosh tried so hard to get rid of this moment..
He did? Why? I'm curious, this was so spectacular!
well unrelated but im glad the ORIGINAL production is returning. hopefully to boston or providence again
