She was scared to eat, scared to walk everything, it was so sad. She is now 3 and i have trained her to sit which took six months, jump, howl and everything a dog should do. She was given to us after the breeder nearly put her down because she wasn’t able to feed her children. I love her so much and it hurts me knowing that her sisters go through this still till this day. I hope this ends soon because no animals should be treated like this. please stop it. Thank you

Ok first, please if you catch a pet store lying about puppy mills , report it to the police. Second, I know y'all wanna save the dogs in the mill and buy them all, and people think their saving them, but really your just putting generations of dogs to the slaughter. Every time you buy one, puppy mills breed more. More because they think they have supporters. More because they will make more money because people think they are saving dogs. Just know this. Every time you buy a dog from a puppy mill, you give a whole other littler, miserable lives.

Huidos001 organizations such as the HSUS shut down puppy mills and then you can adopt them. HSI gets dogs from meat farms. The HSUS also stops hoarding situations. Also this sounds demented but if you think about it, it isn’t. It’s better all the puppy mills end up dying off or rescued. Dogs are continuously forced to breed until they can’t and they will get killed. Dogs that don’t get adopted are either euthanized or put in a gas chamber. And then hundreds of your dollars will go to continuously breeding and torturing dogs.

My family has been fostering a dog who was part of a puppy mill for about 13 years (we have now had him a couple years). His name is Mr Bo.They treated him so badly that he had to have several operations. He now has one eye and is completely blind. He also has no teeth. Whenever we foster dogs we try to get them adopted as soon as possible but no one wants him because his medication is super expensive.
He is now 17 years old and we still love him very much. 💕

Don’t tell them what to do. You can do what ever you want as long as you are responsible.
Many ppl can’t even adopt at shelters or rescues cuz there is too much govt involved. The shelter / rescue I was trying to adopt from (a gsd named Louie) wouldn’t even let me see him or meet him and the ppl working there said that bc I have roommates, ALL of the roommates have to meet him at the same time (which is none of their business anyway). PLUS, they seemed to be VERY choosy and picky about Louie’s new parent.
I couldn’t go through with the adoptions at many of the rescues and shelters I went to BECAUSE there was so much govt involved.
I’m just sayin-there’s a time for more govt, and there’s a time and need for fewer, limited govt. pet adoption is one example.

Not all shelter dogs get beaten. Sometimes they could've been abandoned or simply was a good dog but the owner couldn't take care of it anymore. Even if the dog did get beaten it could still act like a breeder pup! Also, there are many, many shelter puppies that you can train and raise as well! Not all dogs have to come from a breeder! We have a similar problem in the UK. We don’t sell puppies in pet shops (as far as I’m aware we don’t do that anymore), but we do have a lot of puppy farms (British term for puppy mills) and they are exactly like what is shown in the video. That’s why when we got my dog, my parents made sure that they saw the actual breeder and the mum with the puppies. You should always go to a genuine breeder, not places like puppy farms/mills.

  • @sapphireotaku3399
    @sapphireotaku3399 6 лет назад +87

Responsible breeders should also be the norm. People feel like pet shops are their only option if they want a purebred 8 week old puppy, that's not true! There are lots of breeders who do genetic testing, breed the females only a few times, and do not keep their dogs in bad conditions. How do you know? GO THERE! See the facility, meet the adults, look at the puppies, talk to the breeder, look into any contracts that need to be signed. My trainer for my personal dogs is a German Shepherd breeder. I have seen his dogs compete, seen his dogs right after being imported, seen his facilities, and he shares all of this openly. THAT is a breeder you want to get a pup from. Breeding is not the bad guy, mill breeding is what's bad here.

My family used to breed purebred Jack Russell Terriers. We only had one female and male having puppies and after 4 small litters we had the girl fixed. All our puppies were kept in the house and were free to roam around. But, with California law to sell purebred puppies they have to get their purebred papers and anyone who bought them had to sign contracts. When I told anyone that my family bred puppies they immediately thought that we had a puppy mill.

We got our dog from a local breeder and they are actually a good person who cares about the dogs and has all healthy animals. We even got to go visit and see where the puppies live, meet their mother and so on. Not all breeders are bad, so for those that bash others for getting a dog from a breeder, it was their choice, not yours in where they got their dog and at least that choice was a good and reliable one and not a puppy mill.

I never accept information from only one source; I make sure to acquaint myself with all available information about any given topic. But especially when it comes to animals we share this earth with. Unfortunately, I think many of these pet store people do have accurate information, and choose to lie, because the truth would not enable them to be able to sell ANY of the puppies in their pet stores! And anybody who makes a trip to a pet store with the intention of buying an animal from a pet store, should take the time to use the various search engines and research information on the different types of breeds of dogs, and be informed on the type of dog they want to get, because this is too important a decision to do on a whim...

I had always adopted every dog I had ever owned. The last 2 passed away, 2 weeks apart at almost 15 years old, leaving their other adopted brother alone who is 9. We wanted to get him a playmate but I needed to mourn. So we didn’t pursue adoption yet. Then, in our local mall, my kids wanted to go into a pet store, one I ALWAYS I would NEVER buy a dog from. I knew from reputation they lied, were overpriced, and dogs came from puppy mills. However, still mourning, I wanted to see any dog! So while we were in there it happened. That when you know you can’t live without that dog look. She was no more than 4 weeks old (however I couldn’t prove it) She was frail and weak (found out later battling terrible stomach parasites) and was EXTREMELY small. She also had 2 eye infections (or a tiny cold as they put it) We didn’t buy her, but when she was still there a week later, as sick as can be (And again found out that she went from 5lbs to 2 1/2 lbs...a supposed 9 week full breed chocolate lab) So we negotiated her down to almost half the price...they were going to put her down and I just couldn’t bare it. She looked so week and fragile, I thought of my other 2 babies I lost. She is now Gorgeous and healthy but it took a long time. She is 10 months now, and best buddies with my other dog. I refuse to ever go in a pet store anymore that sells puppies, but I can’t help to think I was meant to get this one. I know it doesn’t fix the problem, and every puppy mill should be shut down, but how do you turn your back on a sick puppy?

Many of the puppies have serious health problems that don't appear for a while, many end up costing these people a lot of money for Vet bills and medications. Backyard breeders who just do it to make money without health checks on the Parents are no better ..I have a Dog who rescued as a Senior who was used as a breeder ..He never should have been because he has health problems that were probably passed down to the puppies :(

That being said, people who buy animals from responsible and loving breeders are absolutely not any less worthy to have that pet. That means that person did their research and did what they felt was right for them. Obviously, adopting from shelters is usually the main objective because those sweet animals do need good homes, but don’t let people put you down if you decided that a shelter animal wasn’t right for you. ❤️

They get discounted, put on super sale. The pet store owners lose all the money they invested in that puppy if they kill it, so they don't really do that. They go on sale and get sold to someone who scored a deal by buying a puppy half off it's og price and the store makes its money back.
If a pet store owner decided to euthanize a puppy they're a fucking idiot who wouldnt be able to even keep any type of store afloat.
I've never met, in all my years at pet stores, an owner or employee who thinks any animsl has a 'sell by date' or would be okay with putting down puppies who pass that made up expiration date.
most good, properly-run stores would rather send the puppy to a rescue where they have a great chance of adoption.

my previous dog was a street dog in spain. Her parents were most likely abandoned on the street and she got pregnant and had my dog. They were captured. MY dog wasn't going to make it through the week. she had to be adopted in a week or she'd be put to sleep because of the overpopulation
instead of living 1 month, my pupper had 13 years of the best life, and once I can I will adopt another dog rescued from things like mills, an older dog that needs the perfect home, and some spoiling

I was at a pet store a few years ago and most of the cages had about two small puppies, because the cages were VERY small. Then one day I saw a golden doodle puppy in one of the cages, but he was way to big for the cage! Whenever he moved, the roof of the cage rattled! I feel bad for both dogs in shelters and dogs in pet stores! Neither pet store pups or shelter pups have ever felt true love! It’s so sad!

This is absolutely heartbreaking to see! I'm disgusted to find out that people on this planet have the heart to own puppy mills and get their puppies from them, therefore supporting the puppy mills, on top of that THEY LIE ABOUT IT TOO!!!! In the area I live in new laws have been placed so that no pet shops can sell puppies unless they are from a pound or shelter and are RSPCA approved. Here, if you want a puppy you either adopt or get one from a licensed breeder. It's good to see that more and more areas are taking this disgusting matter into account and are finding ways to prevent it.

I had three adopted dogs..... two of which ran away from puppy mills. Unfortunately, due to their previous living conditions (and the abuse they received) they both received brain damage and one had to be put down when he could no longer be considered safe to be around. The other is still living happily in her own little bubble of “dog dementia” and is constantly forgetting where she is.

Wish Bean you should call your local ASPCA, and report the mall dog shop immediately! If you are a person who purchase a piece in social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, or Twitter, you could also take pictures of this place showing what you witnessed, and post it online and get people to be aware of what you witnessed. People will be outraged, and hopefully this will bring about an instantaneous change in the way these poor puppies are treated!
