To remove liquid nails or anything sticky like caulking, use an oscillating power scraper tool. It will be well worth buying this tool for $40-100. It will come off with no effort. Its also a power sander, a wood saw, a metal cutting saw and more. One of the handiest tools to own. Anyway, good video.
Not sure if you’re aware, but WINEGUARD/TOGO also offers an Unlimited Plan thru AT&T for $360 a year ($30 A month) and its truly unlimited w/o being throttled back at any usage. The offer is for RV’s only and you must pre-pay the whole year. We use about 220-350 Gigs per month and never being slowed for usage. We absolutely love it. BTW, we run 4 Cell phones, 3 TV’s Streaming Netflix’s etc., Laptop and IPad all connected and available when needed.
This sounds great! We are full-time rvers and staying connected is important to us. Do you think you will review the ToGo after you have used for a while? If so, that would great. Thanks Janice
Your videos just keep getting better! I think all your video experience now is really paying off. Anyway, this video is one of your best so far. Very informative and helpful, and your video technique here takes me right along in your upgrade adventure. Very engaging!! Excellent job!
At the Tampa RV show last week, I noticed the 2019 Mercedes 3500 chassis in the Airstream display had integrated side view cameras in the framework of the side mirrors which would display on the big MB display when activating the turn signals. I wish LTV would order their MB chassis with this upgrade.
EDIT: Verizon has discontinued this service. There is another optuon with a MVNO that uses T-mobile network. I can't recall it just niw but will post it soon as i do. ****original msg**** Wonderful planning. I might suggest trying out the Verizon Jetpack Prepaid Unlimited plan. It's $65/mo at LTE speeds. I have mine connected to a simple router amd share even with neighbors wherever I'm camping. I'll def read up on the Togo system too. I'm notba regular Verizon customer which is why i appreciate the Jetpack Unlimited plan. Of the Togo is indeed prepaid also just a year at a time it might be interesting as well. Love the camera setup too. My camera is, well to be kjnd, vintage and so needs updating....
Good modifications. I have a regular-class B, and it's quite annoying not to be able to see what's behind you, except when you're in reverse gear. Increased Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity is great for any rig. I would be a little bit concerned about the side detectors that stick out a little from the already protruding widebody rig. They might be subject to getting clipped at some point. I would be interested in knowing a little bit more about how you sealed the new holes you drilled, being that water infiltration is the nemesis of any rig!
The TOGO sounds interesting. What happens after the end of the initial first year? Does the $360 annual rate continue or does it switch to a different plan? Also, did the initial $360 include the hardware or was that additional? Hopefully you can do a review of the the product and plan after getting some experience with it.
As I understand you resubscribe for anther year... and yes, you need to buy the device. The $360 access is paid to AT&T. Details at rvlifestyle.com/rogo
I was so disappointed when AT&T ditched this plan and went with the seriously price-gouging plans they now have. $300/mo for 100GB? Or you can pay $325 for the year and get 100GB to spread over twelve months. I use 100GB in just a couple of hours sometimes, as if I'm doing a heavy video upload. What a disappointment. I've contacted Winegard, and the good news is you can unlock the Togo for use on other carriers. There are some decent plans out there, including some unlimited plans on the T-Mobile network (which hasn't been the best, historically, but has at least improved). I'm considering going with Verizon, adding this to my family plan and essentially making it a bigger, better version of their LTE hotspots. Again, just heartbreaking that they'd do this to the RV community. And activating this on AT&T now is next to impossible, with the changes.
Something else to consider, instead of a new system like Togo, wireless carriers like AT&T/Verizon sell SIM cards with their own 22 GB limits separate from the main account for $20 a month. Get an LTE enabled device (IPads or others) and you have 44 GB unrestricted with double the hotspot usage. $240/yr with only a new SIM card and no clunky installations! I never run into data limits, the wife has Verizon, I have AT&T. We Boondock constantly and are rarely without cell service good enough for video. I would not buy this Winegard system, especially with 5G on the way.
So just for clarification, you attached the TOGO to the Winegard? And how is your service range any different? Or was it specifically that you didn't like the look of the big antenna and that it rattled in the wind?
Cameras as well as monitors are only as good as the highest resolution with 4K cameras being the best for the price. Notice how the resolution is NEVER stated when buying a system such as this, only the monitors low resolution is stated because 90% of buyers do not know until they are shown the difference like going to RUclips to see what the difference is from 720, 1080, 2MP, 3MP, 4MP, 5MP, and 4K really looks like to see the DETAILS that you need to see as if you were standing there with your own eyes! You also get to see that places are charging as much for old 720 camera as a new 4K camera!
Hi Mike and Jennifer - for the leveling pads check out “snappads.com”. For $149.00 you can add permanent levelers on your system. No need to carry the bag of orange levelers.
I think the TOGO is an interesting option. However to make it a full solution they need to offer a data plan that allows you to connect to ATT and Verizon in the US so that regardless of where you are you have an improved chance of getting a usable signal. If you could pay someone like TOGO a $40 a month subscription that included unlimited internet and connection options to Verizon and ATT where it automatically selects the best option for you it would b e perfect.
We have the 2020 Tiffin Wayfarer. I don’t understand how the rear view camera stayed on while I was driving around the other day. I was enjoying having that rear camera going while driving around! But how is that possible? I thought it only worked while in Reverse gear. We are so in love with our new coach! While there are a few things I don’t understand like when you get in to drive and push to start it doesn’t always detect the key. I will have to lock or unlock the door then push the start button again and VOILA! Does yours do this? Any information will help. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and adventures with us! Hi Jennifer, and Bo!
TOGO is a nice unit, but why not use the Winegard Connect 2.0. Accepts both Verizon and AT&T sim cards. I know the AT&T Togo plan is cheap, but if you have no coverage, doesn't matter how cheap it is.
a couple things I noticed is the WiFi is 802.11 b/g/n only no ac also the speed is 2.4 GHz: 450Mbps no 5 GHz so it sounds like the router part is older in the TOGO
Thanks very informative! Do you have TPMS with your MB or have you installed an after market system. I've checked with MB and they do not have a unit for the 2016 chassis.
I've been enjoying your videos. A question that I have that is a bit off topic from this video: I know you used to have a Class B, and know you went to the b+ for the extra room, but what things do you miss about your Class B? Was it quieter? Handled better? What is your MPG in the B+? I would like to see a video where you discuss all of the advantages (other than the extra space) and disadvantages of the B+ over the B since you've had several months in it now.
Unload all of your gadgets, get visible, truly unlimited, no speed throttling or data caps, $40/ mo., best coverage bar none. Use it as a hotspot and run everything off of it, or hook it to a wireless router and run everything off that. Simple, reasonably priced, reliable.
That is not the same. OTRmobile is another one of those scam type services that use Sim/data from AT&T and you just stick it in your hotspot or other devices. then after a year or sometimes even a few months it no longer works. there are other so called companies who do this same thing. then after a while they disappear and another company name with the same service appears.
I think the TOGO system still is subject to network management which means they can slow you down if the tower you are on is congested. Is that right Mike?
Look into the cybertronics router ,just set on dashboard plug in set to go ,works well in remote areas , I'm full time rver been using several yrs ,better than all booster and antenna ,I tried , no limit on data , where other can't call I always can ,but does cost 139 a month but true unlimited ,I stream all day movies and such I don't like people much so out remote
Hey Mike, I would appreciate knowing how Mark managed to internally route the wires from the ToGo given the construction build technique used by LTV. He might be willing to be interviewed? Also, here is a thought on the full time rear view monitor; mount it to the unused rear view mirror so it's located exactly where the driver will naturally look to see the rear view. Good mods. All the best to you with your internet connection solutions!
The video gear I got was The Crimestopper 7 inch monitor is available at amzn.to/2yBCwc9 The Crimestopper camera I got is available at amzn.to/2YIDXAt I had all of these professionally installed at Radios, Knobs, Speakers and Things in Pontiac, MI - www.rkst.net. Hey, Mike as you drilled holes on the roof, and on the sides of vehicle what was done to keep any water to get into those holes and leak into the RV? That would be my biggest concern?
I hear you on the slower speeds , Verizon last year had me set up at 12 gb and this year like always every year I need more data. Why is this ? I feel across America this business concept with every Cell phone company is about mo 💰 money. Like right now me and my wife are set up with a basic land line and my cell phone hook up with the unlimited plan in most of my area is hamster speed with the rolling cage effect and you know what, Verizon and the other cell companies have a bandaid fix , they just don’t care.
Cute video, kudos for being well done. And it's always safer to defer to experience. But I can see you're well aware of that... Happy wife = happy life!
Hello, wanted to reach out after watching your TOGO video. I think I have a workaround for this and will be doing a video very soon to explain things. After watching and only if you like the solution and agree with the video. You can share it with your community. I am a full time rver and a very small channel but have put in a lot of time since my TOGO install video went big for me. Just trying to help others with a solution. Thank you for taking the time to read my comment in advance.
we use ours for work( we are traveling Nurse's) and we go through about 20 gigs a week using Netflix and up/downloading/viewing files and video for work. It's not a problem in parks that let you bring in outside local internet access but we have found that most don't.
We also are using a huge amount of internet access as our TV viewing is mostly Sling, NetFlix, Hulu, and RUclips TV via Roku streaming devices (multiple TVs), plus our computer and tablets. We would eat up our allotment of capacity in a week or less - it was "unlimited" but throttled back after 20 Gig. This slowdown was unacceptable to us so I contacted Verizon, and after some discussion with a phone rep with him suggesting that I upgrade my plan to include automatic overage coverage and my suggesting that I might consider Hughes Satellite instead of the hotspot, they recommended a pay per month hotspot plan. So I took my Verizon hotspot (which I already owned) off my current cell family plan, went to month to month billing for $70/month for the hotspot only and now get unlimited internet access with no throttling. Once Verizon cooperated, it was a very easy switch (might have been easier if I had been purchasing it as a pay-as-you-go item at a Verizon store) Great deal for me as I can also turn it off during winter when we dont use the RV. When I need it for the next RV season, Ill contact Verizon and re-enable the device, it might get a new phone number but who cares what a hotspot phone number is. The video creator's $360 deal might be better for real full timers but my hotspot works for me as a part-timer who one day hopes to be a full timer. YMMV.
So your rig has no rear window at all, yet I see you still have a conventional rear view mirror. Of what possible use is it except as a place to hang your fuzzy dice?
Yeah, pretty crazy. But the rear view mirror comes standard on the MB chassis. Remember, they have no idea what the upfitter will be hanging on the back.
T Mobile in my experience is too unstable for full country coverage, especially when Im away from a metro area - even on the interstates. I tried it and dumped it after a week of travelling within WI and IL. Like Sprint, it works great in metro areas, but out in the boonies, I want service I can count on so I use Verizon. It costs more but it works when I need it. This will probably start a trolling war, just like who makes the best truck, so if I inflame someone, I apologize in advance. My comment is based on my experience, and not any researched data.
Perhaps it’s my location, but running out of at&t data is the kiss of death. I would much prefer that they simply charge an additional fee for additional data.
I really admire you dude. So wholesome. I’m 26 and just started living in a trailer full time. Love you videos. You and your wife are beautiful.
I like your “if you’re going over 70 miles an hour” comment and when I read that I said out loud “you’ll get a ticket”! Thanks for the chuckle
many interstates now have a limit of 75 mph... out west it's 80

Tighten them Phillip Head screws, I can see they are loose when you shake it. Use Bolts with Lock Washers. Won't Rattle & Roll after that. :)

Very nice, only thing im not so sure about is how much those blind spot monitors stick out off the wide body.
Curious comparison the wine gaurd booster to the Verizon jet pack.

Tanks for the video. I didn’t see any links in the description for the blind spot assist and rear view camera.

Hardware is around $450
So, the old booster makes a lot of noise when driving down the highway over 70 mph? Why are you driving an rv over 70 mph?
Great review and a 👍to the install technician

Does this device work with your personal AT&T data plans? I have an Enterprise Unlimited Plan and can still us it.
you should be able to open it up and replace the cell antenna with an external antenna for more remote areas.......

I RV about 5 months out of the year. It costs about $72 per month. ATT should come out with a prorated plan for the bulk of RV owners,
May I ask how the installer waterproofed the holes he drilled in the roof?
Happy Holidays! After several months, what's your verdict on the Togo Roadlink?
TOGO is a nice unit, but why not use the Winegard Connect 2.0. Accepts both Verizon and AT&T sim cards. I know the AT&T Togo plan is cheap, but if you have no coverage, doesn't matter how cheap it is.

Got places to go my friend!! Hahaha!

Star washers is the best to hole them tightly
The AT&T Price Plan is now $90 a month and not 360 Plan, What Happened?
Looking forward to your follow up evaluation of the Togo, Mike. Also I'm curious. After the year is up can one pay for another year's unlimited data?
Yes
I have a 2018 Unity FX on a 2017 Sprinter chassis and our rear view camera works when driving down the road.
It does not on the 2019
Can you you buy the to go and just use it at home?
Did you sell your old antenna
did u follow the manufactures instruction an if u did why did u use it please let me know thanks
Youre using the wrong tool. A Butterknife? You need a widget. Its a flat razor tool. $2.00 at Harbor Freight
Do you happen to know if the togo will work when I am parked under my RV port? It is a metal carport. thank you.
So you are talking about Cell systems.
20 gigs? What a waste. Try OTRmobile for unlimited unthrottled for $60 a month.
Doctor Rennie I heard this exact thing directly from the manufacturer.
Look into the cybertronics router ,just set on dashboard plug in set to go ,works well in remote areas , I'm full time rver been using several yrs ,better than all booster and antenna ,I tried , no limit on data , where other can't call I always can ,but does cost 139 a month but true unlimited ,I stream all day movies and such
I don't like people much so out remote
Hey Mike, I would appreciate knowing how Mark managed to internally route the wires from the ToGo given the construction build technique used by LTV. He might be willing to be interviewed? Also, here is a thought on the full time rear view monitor; mount it to the unused rear view mirror so it's located exactly where the driver will naturally look to see the rear view. Good mods. All the best to you with your internet connection solutions!
Where can we contact mark?
Looks like Pontiac MI?
What is the manufacturer on the rear camera and monitor? I looked, but don’t see the link for it. That’s a great idea!
The video gear I got was
The Crimestopper 7 inch monitor is available at amzn.to/2yBCwc9
The Crimestopper camera I got is available at amzn.to/2YIDXAt
I had all of these professionally installed at Radios, Knobs, Speakers and Things in Pontiac, MI - www.rkst.net.
The camera is pretty low resolution... that's my only criticism. I bought that gear off the shelf from Radios, Knobs, Speakers and Things
Do you have a review on the ToGo since installing ? Also is this deal still available ?
Yes it is still available and it hs worked very well for us.
So do you have to 1st Buy ToGo for $398 then buy a AT&T plan for $360 ? I thought you bought the ToGo then got the AT&T service free for 1st yr ...... sorry I’m confused , can you tell me where to go to get the deal you spoke of ? Love you guys videos !! Also how do I find your podcast?
Hey, Mike as you drilled holes on the roof, and on the sides of vehicle what was done to keep any water to get into those holes and leak into the RV? That would be my biggest concern?
grommets, silicone
Glad to hear and I hope that you are comfortable with install.
Looking to add the TOGO on my Unity. Thanks for the information !
You will need AT&T service per website to get this service
@RV Lifestyle Can you take the $360/yr unlimited data SIM card out of the Roadlink and put it into a higher end cellular modem i.e. Netgear Nighthawk?
Daniel Doherty good question
I doubt that yearly plan is "unlimited". I'm sure they will throttle you after so much data.
Great video 👍
Nice mods and presentation.
Great video! Thanks for sharing this video!
Dang, everyone needs a Mark.
Cute video, kudos for being well done.
And it's always safer to defer to experience. But I can see you're well aware of that...
Happy wife = happy life!
I'm impressed with your manicure.

pretty sure that says 2go, ijs🤷♀️😅

Sadly people need their phones and computers more than family.

Ay Yai Yai. Has to be a better way. Makes me want to get the 2019 narrow Class B that has the original MB equipment safety features.
one recommendation switch to TMobile

This guy obviously doesn’t answer question?
When someone is installing anything on a auto one should explain much more about how to install. The do it yourself person wants to see every thing.
