Great video! Its a shame what happened to the company, always makes me very sad when I see an Ypsilon or an rebadged 300c when you recall what they're once were able to make.
The funny thing is...the Lancia Ypsilon alone and in only one market at the moment actually saved the Lancia Brand! The new Stellantis will relaunch Lancia to it's former glory! 😀

I had an idea for my own car company called Pegasus, which would make performance cars based on predecessors from many different manufacturers. One of the three flagship models, alongside the AE86-based Pegasus Levin and the "all in one chassis" Pegasus Striker (can be bought as a hatchback, wagon, or land rover style SUV, depending on trim), was the Pegasus Dextra, a 4-door twin-charged AWD hatchback based on the Delta Integrale Evo and Delta S4

Every time I see (even) an Ypsilon out three, I am wondering what an astonishing brand Lancia is. I still would prefer an Ypsilon instead other cars from its level - at least, it's Lancia. The new Delta is pretty cool either, with its nice 1.9 biturbo diesel. Maybe I should buy one instead of my 166... Maybe someday I will.
Actually lancia Ypsilon Is really popular and often a youth's choice as First car due to italian licence restrictions on the first years of acquiring it
In fact Lancia pulled out of the WRC at the end of 1992, so drivers Didier Auriol and Juha Kankkunen moved to Toyota. Audi was the biggest threat but Lancia looked at the colander for the WRC in 1983 and saw that enough events suited a RWD drive car to make it worth the investment and the risk. while Audi were still trouble with issues with the big and heavy complex Quattro. They also were smart enough to sign Walter Röhrl not to win the championship because he no long was interested in doing so already been a multiple European champion and 2 times WRC winner. there also some famed under handed tactics like getting the Road gritted in the high Alps and having snow cleared by Italian snow ploughs to win first time out at the Monti. on the subject of those 200 cars for the entry requirements. it is also legend that they never built 200 roading going cars but they were not alone in that one. Anyone who saw these two cars close up understands just how much they lack in safety compared to some of the then Group 4 cars or of the Audi's and Fords by modern standards death traps. I was luck enough to be at the debut of the Lancia Delta S4 on that Lombard RAC Rally in winter 1984 all the Group B cars were there the Lancia was by far the quickest car I had ever seen at that time and all this on Snow Ice and gravel and mud. it was never really the same at the follow years event after all the tragic events at the start of 1986 and knowing Group B was dead for 1987. Although a good effort, there are a lot of incorrect things being said. I won't list them all, but 1 big mistake is the reason why Lancia withdrew from rallying. The reason is that Lancia were so dominant in rallying and Ferrari in F1 were investing millions but still not winning (the last F1 championship was '79), so Fiat sent the Lancia racing division to Ferrari in F1. All the major players: Engineers (Lombardi ecc), meccanics, C. Florio all went to Ferrari F1 in a block. By the way in the rally scene, private teams won championships in front of the main competion for 1-2 years in wrc and more years in european and national championships.
Good documentary... but why you didn't mention Thema by Ferrari, innovation of Thesis and so on...I own Lancia Thesis emblema and this car is one of the most high tech cars of its time...first car to offer EPB as standard, rear LED lights as standard, skyhook with 6 units...I mean RR Phantom copied rear design from the Thesis...THESIS is the most underrated car in the 21st century...people cannot believe their eyes when they see my thesis with all the electronics and features...
I hope some crazy baron the likes of Christian von Koenigsegg buys Lancia and start produsing wild rally machines and start produsing other monsters fore track race catagories and start building slick street legal versons of their competetive cars at a semi affordeble price.
@@Redgolf2 It should be noted the Irish armoured cars weren't built by Lancia. They were locally built but using a bought in Lancia Triota running chassis. Likewise the WW1 Italian armoured cars were actually an Ansaldo product built on similarly bought in Lancia chassis.
Ask Henri Toivonen if he had fun. I guess Lancia had priorities and human life wasn't on the top. That was "fun". That was the last straw for group B. Even more "fun".
Shame and doom on all those who hammered nails onto Lancias coffin out of dumb decisions and pure greed. Chrysler added peanuts to automobile history, compared to Lancia. Some rich guys should buy out the rights from Fiat, get the several retro makers (Chimera, Phenomenon Stratos etc.) into the boat and clash some 4WD Hybrid 037 onto the stage.

*Yeah blame Ferrari for that ...*
Same thing with Saab and Mitsubishi
@@Lancista Bullshit. You have to blame Fiat that didn't want to invest in multiple racing brand i.e. Alfa Romeo. Ferrari has nothing to do with that.

seems like the 3rd delta did not come to the UK market? as it was the last `real` lancia (based on fiat)
Indeed
14:35 you mean from piza to rome cuz every road leads to rome
edit1: 16:13 from riminy to rome
Good documentary... but why you didn't mention Thema by Ferrari, innovation of Thesis and so on...I own Lancia Thesis emblema and this car is one of the most high tech cars of its time...first car to offer EPB as standard, rear LED lights as standard, skyhook with 6 units...I mean RR Phantom copied rear design from the Thesis...THESIS is the most underrated car in the 21st century...people cannot believe their eyes when they see my thesis with all the electronics and features...
so whats so speacial about the fulvia?? (procedes to show a damn cool pic of one) RALLY!!!!!
5:56 6:03 6:05
i missed lancia mostly kankkunen era....
I hope some crazy baron the likes of Christian von Koenigsegg buys Lancia and start produsing wild rally machines and start produsing other monsters fore track race catagories and start building slick street legal versons of their competetive cars at a semi affordeble price.
This man sounds like Tyson Fury
Is Irish used the Lancia armoured cars in the ‘20’s
Is, doh
Us, bloody auto spell
@@Redgolf2 It should be noted the Irish armoured cars weren't built by Lancia. They were locally built but using a bought in Lancia Triota running chassis. Likewise the WW1 Italian armoured cars were actually an Ansaldo product built on similarly bought in Lancia chassis.
Lancia is rally!! Put another Lancia hf beast in the dirt😅
The Tragedy of Lancia
Ask Henri Toivonen if he had fun. I guess Lancia had priorities and human life wasn't on the top. That was "fun". That was the last straw for group B. Even more "fun".
Production Italian cars, British cars ,, aw almost forgot French cars, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Rover, Jaguar, Peugeot, Citroen are like why bother?
Shame and doom on all those who hammered nails onto Lancias coffin out of dumb decisions and pure greed.
Chrysler added peanuts to automobile history, compared to Lancia.
Some rich guys should buy out the rights from Fiat, get the several retro makers (Chimera, Phenomenon Stratos etc.) into the boat and clash some 4WD Hybrid 037 onto the stage.
Although spelt Lancia its not pronounced Lansia, but Lanchia.
Not Lanchia but Lanchuh or even, in Turin, as Lunch!
