Wait... Y-your .... Your username... Are you THE r-rat? The rat rat? The rat with the thing and the other thing rat? The rat with the jump and the boost rat proxy rat?
@rose_undercover Rats? Rats make me crazy. Crazy? I was crazy once, They locked me in a room, a rubber room, a rubber room with rats, and rats make me crazy.
What a story, got me feeling emotional looking back on it all. Here's hoping for more runs, records, and love for the game in the coming years. WE LOVE SPYRO!
To be completely honest with you, I could probably write a better comment than you without any practice, you really need to get your act together, oh well, you've inspired me to beat you, expect a comment soon
Why did I make so many rat videos? Now everyone's gonna know I had a problem. Great vid as always, knowing how often Any% WR changed hands, I knew it would be a banger.
Do you dream of the Rat, and perfect placement? Honestly it's little obsessions like this which pay off so much to the speedrun community that you deserve so much respect and praise.
@NikaHarper Haha, yeah I spent a lot of time diagnosing rats for fun. Most of those videos I made were just labbing different ideas that never made anything worthwhile, and I kinda knew they never would (aside from the one that eventually becomes the TASRat). Boosting extremely high in the air from inside one of the metal chests is fun, but its not the most optimal way to be doing things. And the funny truth is, I kinda suck at Long Backrat. When Salt talks about all the different ways to make different rat positions work, those were a community effort. Only the Rat Surf tech itself, and the original Long Backrat setup, were my work. There's actually a ton of different choices depending on Rat Position RNG, like direction to face and whether to roll and even the rare aiming at the pillar, and I had nothing to do with those advancements. So if I can use this lower-level comment buried deep in the Salt Tube to give credit, it would be to Laura, who was the first person to actually push its RTA status and WR with it the same day she started doing so, and Composer, Ash, and OddKara, who labbed out various position-based tech. They really put in work to make Long Backrat into something with realistic consistency. Composer can basically make any rat work, they're record holder for a reason, they've labbed rat out to a tee.
@DazeBagabones neeeerrrrdd jk, and how nice of you to give props to everyone else. So props to you for making it even possible to get the run where it is today. Without you the video would be only half as interesting
It’s kinda funny to me that some level designer in the 90s decided “I’ll put a rat here in case players need health” and had absolutely no idea the madness that decision would bring about decades later
while shirtless is faster on paper, in practice setting up the human-viable no shirt no shoes no service clip uses up most of the time you save from skipping that portion of the opening level. until we either find a faster and more consistent setup for the clip or route out the night out with the lads altogether it's just not really worth going for a trick that'll either save you like a couple seconds or totally kill the run
This game has received so much care and love from such a great community over the years, it's crazy to see the legacy continue on to this day. Thank you for putting in so much work to make this, the integrity of your craft is a gift to everyone. ~(’ω’)~
I still can't get over that Mark Cerny, the guy who is the lead engineer for the PS5 and PS6, loved his own game so much he speed ran it. Edit: I didn't know how far back Cerny led architecture and that he took over after the PS3's cell problems. Playstation GOAT!
It's a shame Saboom always feels the need to delete all his vods/videos any time he takes a break from speed running. He is a very prominent figure in speed running history, yet he seems to be ashamed of his legacy. It's quite depressing.
49:12 I’ve seen a lot of pop offs in my time, but a shirtless back to back world record shouting “I am the best” and “so humble” might be up there “Who do you think you are? I am.”
I liked the progression, but it kinda spoiled where we were headed. I mean yeah, you can just pan back to make the overall graph bigger as you go, but at that point, without the full context, what are you really doing beyond just showing times on screen?
I didn't think anyone would do what you did, not in 2010 not in 2017 even in 2023 I never thought I live long enough to see someone actually put it together. Sub 1 hour what a run. (I'm still on the intro)
Hell yeah! Congrats to ur contribution to this record, loved the video. Very genuine question though, what is the deal with the trans/video game speed running community? I've noticed it consistently from following the community in general across several games and am extremely curious for personal reasons
This brings back so many memories. Love this game Amazing job on the video Salt. You're attention to detail is immaculate and this was such a ride to see everything put together.
I discovered the world of speedrun with Chris streams. His high level has made me enjoy watching runs regularly for over ten years now. He was a very consistent speedrunner in the 120% category and progressed quite quickly. His runs were always clean, which made them a pleasure to watch. I was always surprised by how he managed his stress; it was almost invisible on screen. A legend in the spyro speedruns history.
@Nicodraco23 I started watching Spyro speedruns with Chris and I was just thinking that when I started watching Dayoman too the difference in the way they handle the speedrun tension gave me whiplash lmao they're both fun
Is there anything more legendary than a CEO bragging about speed running their own game, unironically, and decades before speed running blew up in popularity.
26:02 - Holy sh!t, I remember discovering this as a kid! For whatever reason I was completely obsessed with getting on top of things I wasn’t supposed to in this game, so I spent endless hours trying to do just that. Hearing about this unlocked a memory of finally getting on top of the dragon and falling through. My 12 year old mind was absolutely *blown* lmao This would’ve been sometime in ‘99. Jesus… that was 27 years ago…
This is awesome. I appreciate the tribute at 41:52, and while my contributions may not have been in actually discovering rat proxy or directly pushing any%, all I wanted was for the trick to become more than just fabled.
I could imagine him as a titan of Ancient Greek philosophy, banging out the most fundamental principles of enlightened thought all day because they haven't invented Playstation Spyro yet (it was easy cus he was shirtless)
Been watching for years, don't think I've ever choked up at one of these before, but watching Laura's WR and reaction really hit something. The human spirit is truly amazing. Thank you for making these videos.
@Merennulli Oh I am sure of it. He isn't huge on social media (except maybe Linkin which I don't have) so under normal circumstances he probably wouldn't notice stuff like this. But someone in his office has google alerts for his name just in case of scandal and I can guarantee his google alerts is probably going nuts. So in an effort to get more pings... Mark Cerny, come and see where your record is now. Give the Speed running community that sweet, sweet attention.
The president of the company who developed the game speedruning it is such a good story. That's the type of people you need at the realm to have a successful company: someone who genuinely CARES
I find it funny that he was so bad at video games, they needed to make specific debug tools just for him... even though Spyro is an incredibly easy game that requires far less coordination than drumming
Hey, can you design a system more like 3.5 that doesn't put so much work on the DM and actually let's players who know how to read what the rules are? Bonus points if it only requires 3 books (DM manual, PHB, monster manual) k thx bai.
36:45 zfg is at the absolute rock bottom of that scale, dude could land a .00001% chance sub-subframe perfect trick first shot and his maximum reaction would be 'nice.'
All speed run record should have an asterisk next to them, as all records are just being held by whoever it is until Matt Turk decides to take the record.
I’m so honored I was added to such a great video. Thanks you for including me. It was my pleasure going over the history with you. The same great SS quality we love.
Holy moly, I just thought "the new vid should drop soon, let's check again" and boom! "1 minute ago". Thank you for all the years of S-tier content and comfort, honestly!
yessssss mark cerny making it into this is very important! so heartening the way it came up, too, to see so many of the developments that followed his original statement
It was a pleasure to help in whatever ways I could with this project, it turned out amazing Salt. Congrats on creating yet another work of art and thanks for covering Spyro and PlayStation!
Genuinely stopped what I was doing, turned up the volume and waited for Dayoman to show up when I felt like it was about the time he'd be mentioned, then cheered. That dude is one of the funniest mfkers on RUclips
Ive watched every summoning salt video for almost a decade now, but this is the first time hes covering a game whos speedrunning scene i actually follow. This is gonna be a great watch
Genuinely hoping Mark gets to see this. Spyro is a gem, and what a masterpiece of a summary showcasing its speedrunning history and helping preserve its legacy.
It would be funny if his response was showing off a dev. skip that shattered the record. Although I would assume such a thing would have been found through decomplication by ACE hunters.
Same. It's a classic, and I loved playing it on the PS1. I jumped on the remastered edition as soon as it released and even got a platinum. Such a nostalgia trip.
I feel it should be mentioned that Salt was actually recommended by MPAP to do a Spyro 2 World Record progression video, but salt didn't want to, and told MPAP that he could do it. Link: ruclips.net/video/VfiLzNS9RhM/video.html So, it might have taken few years, but salt finally took Pap's suggestion.
According to comments (and myself) "World record.... by ME!" sent many of us to tears. Congrats and thank you for contributing to the history of a game we love so much.
It truly is a pleasure to watch a WR history video of any% that had the help of you and other runners. I can see that you have a passion for this game no one can't match. I'm glad you were (and ARE!) part of this! :)) GG laura
I've been in and around the spyro speedrunning community for years, since about 2015 or so watching saboom do runs. I've watched a lot of these runners, and had the pleasure to meet and become friends with a lot of them in that time. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making this video. This community has been an important and inextricable part of my life for a long time, and it means so much to see it getting some recognition from a channel as big as yours, and to see the detail and effort you put into covering this sprawling mess of a scene. It means so much to a lot of people in the community. Also, special shoutout to OddKara, who helped develop the practice ROM with Composer. Without her I don't think the run would've been pushed as much as it has been.

@rose_undercover 🤣
"TWO PERFECT RATS!" - crazy shirtless man
Gotta love dayoman
Perfect description of him!
I actually passed by a homeless man who looked similar a while back.
Average new Yorker moment
I AM THE BEST
AND I'M HUMBLE
You come for the Spyro and stay for the shirtless circus
What a story, got me feeling emotional looking back on it all. Here's hoping for more runs, records, and love for the game in the coming years. WE LOVE SPYRO!
I LOVE YOU DAYO
🍻
dayoSPIN
W Dayo
cheers 🍻🍻
“WHOOO IM SICK, AND I’m humble”
Lmao
Mentioned in a Summoning Salt video, I guess I peaked
To be completely honest with you, I could probably write a better comment than you without any practice, you really need to get your act together, oh well, you've inspired me to beat you, expect a comment soon
@shrympwyzard Careful with that, you may end up with a comment WR
Absolute peak guys😂😂😂😂
:D
Tsfp legend !

the legendd
That was my fav part of this video ngl, I really enjoyed the variety of rat titles
@DazeBagabones neeeerrrrdd
jk, and how nice of you to give props to everyone else.
So props to you for making it even possible to get the run where it is today. Without you the video would be only half as interesting
I like that Dayoman slowly starts looking more and more like a caveman throughout the video
and he starts fairly close to begin with
@vesuviusmount9120 he looks like Markiplier at the start
Yeah I’m more interested in this hairy shirtless man on a bad webcam than I am for any sport lol
what speedrunning does to a mf
It’s kinda funny to me that some level designer in the 90s decided “I’ll put a rat here in case players need health” and had absolutely no idea the madness that decision would bring about decades later
Who knew Dayo just needed to abandon shirtless to break the minute barrier
Shirtless Skip
Shirtless should be a category in honor of Dayo, he’s still alive but he’s earned it lol
while shirtless is faster on paper, in practice setting up the human-viable no shirt no shoes no service clip uses up most of the time you save from skipping that portion of the opening level. until we either find a faster and more consistent setup for the clip or route out the night out with the lads altogether it's just not really worth going for a trick that'll either save you like a couple seconds or totally kill the run
Ah yes the shirt skip skip
@TruckMorris lets take a minute to remember Dayo. He's still alive but you can remember him anyways.
niftski: evaporates his shirt
touval: neatly folds his shirt and puts it in the wardrobe
dayoman: what's a shirt?
Is that an Incorrect Summary of MGR:R?
@Tp_hedgelinghogIt Has to Shirt This Way
@eleronpfoutz7823 Why won't you shirt!?
@LARAUJO_0Nanomachines, son. They shirt in response to speedrun trauma!
"But little did they know, Mike Cerny was grinding down his PB this entire time..."
It's Mark Cerny* the architect behind PS4/PS5 and latest PSSR AI tech in PS5 Pro.
@somaofhollownest5637 I only know him by his Punch-Out name, Matt Turk.
@Eyedunnotrue
@somaofhollownest5637 also known to some as michael carmichael
He's banked several sub 30 min runs but refuses to upload until the moment he thinks it will mentally break the competition the most
This game has received so much care and love from such a great community over the years, it's crazy to see the legacy continue on to this day. Thank you for putting in so much work to make this, the integrity of your craft is a gift to everyone. ~(’ω’)~
You’re one of the legends, my dude
I still can't get over that Mark Cerny, the guy who is the lead engineer for the PS5 and PS6, loved his own game so much he speed ran it.
Edit: I didn't know how far back Cerny led architecture and that he took over after the PS3's cell problems. Playstation GOAT!
All games should be made by people who love games this much.
Didn't he work on the PS4?
@raccoononymousyes
@TheOmegaRiddleryeah he did
@raccoononymous Tell that to EA or Ubisoft!
Touval most British man ever with that record reaction on 1/1000
Ikr😂😂
Dayo really said "I'm the best. And I'm Humble." Thats why hes my goat
Love your castlevania vids
It’s still humble as long as you’re speaking only facts.
“I am sick, and I’m humble”
I think he said “humbled.”
I am.”
I genuinely still think about that line very frequently, its so so good. comedic genius at such an emotional moment, dayo is an artist
Might be up there with * ironic lol
I was lucky enough to see it live. Good time.
Who would win?
*1. The entire Spyro speedrunning community*
*2. One tiny rat boi*
Who would win?
-Medieval Europe
- one sick lil Rat boi
@richardtrischka2743under*rat*ed comment 😂😂
i miss the color coded dot progression chart of the times decreasing :(
YES! i was thinking the same thing. i even thought: maybe that wasnt summoning salt XD because he also changed the starting music
I liked the progression, but it kinda spoiled where we were headed. I mean yeah, you can just pan back to make the overall graph bigger as you go, but at that point, without the full context, what are you really doing beyond just showing times on screen?
@jayjaydeth making one of the best and most iconic graphics in the genre
creating a good visual for those who are more visually inclined for information
I knew something felt off!
lmao you can tell when the speed run vods are more recent when everyone screams lets fucking go
I like the good ol, "YEESSS!!!" 🗯
woahh its me :) thanks for making such a sick video on this category, it deserves it and you really did it justice!
🙉
I didn't think anyone would do what you did, not in 2010 not in 2017 even in 2023 I never thought I live long enough to see someone actually put it together. Sub 1 hour what a run. (I'm still on the intro)
nice dad
Hell yeah! Congrats to ur contribution to this record, loved the video. Very genuine question though, what is the deal with the trans/video game speed running community? I've noticed it consistently from following the community in general across several games and am extremely curious for personal reasons
Failed yt sybau littleboy.
49:41 I already loved this guy, but he exclaiming "TWO!" while holding up 3 fingers killed me.
Dude I had to check comments right then it got me too!
I am absolutely floored
He must've studied at tolarian community college
@DanatronOne Excellent pull my good sir
@DanatronOneyou know ball
This brings back so many memories. Love this game
Amazing job on the video Salt. You're attention to detail is immaculate and this was such a ride to see everything put together.
idk how many hundreds of hours I've watched you play this game. thanks for being part of this ❤
You’re the man Chris!
@PianoScoreVids

5:02 "Later that year" doesn't sound like "without practice" to me. Idk...
Is there anything more legendary than a CEO bragging about speed running their own game, unironically, and decades before speed running blew up in popularity.
Thanks so much for making this video
Sick runs you're a machine
The man the myth the legend!
absolutely amazing! ❤
Ur tha GOAT!!!
It's really impressive seeing what you did with this game. it's simply unreal.
Just when I needed him most, Salt blesses me with an upload
And such a great game for it too.
Lame
exactly what I was thinking when this vid popped up in my feed 😌
fax
Same dude ive had a horrible last 3 months and to log on and see he uploaded gives me one of my few shots of dopamine.
26:02 - Holy sh!t, I remember discovering this as a kid! Dayo has the relentlessly positive attitude of an anime protagonist. What a champion.
The Popoff Scale is hilarious.
Needs to be a standard in SS videos now
Surprised I never saw Brandon Dasilva
Arcus did pop off pretty hard that one time when PBing in Zelda 1 though
so is calling a man "she"
Sometimes you get the rat; sometimes the rat gets you.
'TWO perfect rats!? are you kidding me?!"
lmao
*holds up three fingers*
48:55 glazes himself "And I'm humble"
I died laughing. 😂
Matt Turk set the WR in 1993 with NO video proof before the game was ever released.
🥱
i sat on the couch next to him when he did it, I can vouch for him.
If you are talking about his 18 minute 41 second record.....he beat that later. In his sleep.
Todd Rogers beat this by starting in second gear
I'm so glad more people are finally coming around to the fact that Matt Turk absolutely lied about the overwhelming majority of his records.
This is awesome. I appreciate the tribute at 41:52, and while my contributions may not have been in actually discovering rat proxy or directly pushing any%, all I wanted was for the trick to become more than just fabled.
Awesome work man
@lukeVl-d5ei appreciate it man!
Petition to have the old music back
Dayoman has the best mental attitude when it comes to speedrunning I’ve seen. It’s like if an enlightened Buddhist monk got into speedrunning
He does kinda have that fantasy/mythology vibe of "Hobo asking for food who's actually a deity/powerful mage in disguise".
Right? My first thought when presented here was "what is John Lennon doing speedrunning? And why does he has a flag from DR Congo???"
He has his off days where the grind gets to him. However, his ability to bounce back is very inspirational
I could imagine him as a titan of Ancient Greek philosophy, banging out the most fundamental principles of enlightened thought all day because they haven't invented Playstation Spyro yet (it was easy cus he was shirtless)
Buddhists don't "pop off"
I have been waiting FOREVER for Dayoman to get featured on Summoning Salt. Hell yeah.
my goat
28:15 "Hey, this trick seems a bit tough, we should probably find a way t-"
*"Make it harder"*
"…..what?"
*"MAKE IT HARDER!!"*
a true glitch hunter, he just like me frfr
Been watching for years, don't think I've ever choked up at one of these before, but watching Laura's WR and reaction really hit something. The human spirit is truly amazing. Thank you for making these videos.
Every time I see a new wr in the vid I pray they emailed mark cerny the time
You know he's getting emailed tonight by someone.
Not gonna lie the "World record...by me " made me a little teary eyed
Same! The genuine emotion is just infectious
shes just like me fr (except good at spyro)
Spoilers bro 😔
Why? You had nothing to do with it
@Mixed-Media-Artswatch out guys we got a tough guy here!!
The president of the company who developed the game speedruning it is such a good story. That's the type of people you need at the realm to have a successful company: someone who genuinely CARES
Just a small correction: Universal did not develop the game, Insomniac Games did
Universal only owns the rights of the IP
try not to smile while dayo is on screen challenge (impossible)
Fun fact: Stewart Copeland, drummer of The Police, did the soundtrack for the Spyro series.
And it's some of the greatest pieces of music to ever grace a video game!!! Spyro 1's soundtrack I still play on repeat to this day! 😭
I had the Playstation Underground with the DVD of the documentary about it.
@3godzilla3eh... I wouldn't go that far. It's alright.
I find it funny that he was so bad at video games, they needed to make specific debug tools just for him... even though Spyro is an incredibly easy game that requires far less coordination than drumming
@3godzilla3it’s no Pictionary by Tim Follin
If our boss asks - we're watching this because it has a dragon in it so it counts for work.
Hey, can you design a system more like 3.5 that doesn't put so much work on the DM and actually let's players who know how to read what the rules are? Bonus points if it only requires 3 books (DM manual, PHB, monster manual) k thx bai.
Wait, when did DND pr become goated?
JOHN DND, IS THAT YOU?!
Silence, brand
Get lost, brand. Also please don't act like you haven't destroyed the IP with senseless modern nonsense.
36:45 zfg is at the absolute rock bottom of that scale, dude could land a .00001% chance sub-subframe perfect trick first shot and his maximum reaction would be 'nice.'
I want a popoff compilation of only Touval and ZFG, we could call that a negative popoff compilation
Pop offs are a spectrum with zfg on one end and hungrybox on the other
@maxlimitbeats Istg I can't think of anyone else instead of them as both ends of this spectrum lmao
@BSG_BeerMoney pop on compilation
Legends say Dayoman is still shirtless to this day..
18:00 I was fully expecting a "and the other... was Matt Turk."
Naw man. Jimmypoopins.
Matt Turk's aura specifically relating to SummoningSalt videos is unmatched
All speed run record should have an asterisk next to them, as all records are just being held by whoever it is until Matt Turk decides to take the record.
Same here 😆
My mans is putting us through a 10 year cliffhanger waiting on SM64 120 pt. 2 😢
Glad I’m not the only one
I know. I was sure he'd give us part 2 next. 😢
It would be a new game/series
its been a year gng! (still a great video though.)
@GarkadeXDBUT I NEED MORRRRRRRRE. (Please 🥺)
I’m so honored I was added to such a great video. Thanks you for including me. It was my pleasure going over the history with you. The same great SS quality we love.
As someone born in the Year of the Rat, seeing a fiendish furry friend be the ultimate decider or Spryo world records is super sweet.
Holy moly, I just thought "the new vid should drop soon, let's check again" and boom! "1 minute ago".
Thank you for all the years of S-tier content and comfort, honestly!
So it's your fault...
That is a lie and you are a liar for saying that
Do it again, but for emplemon this time
Edit: you did it, thanks bro!
@Clyde-S-Wilcoxthey commented one minute after the video came out, how are they a liar lol
Ask my child, and ye shall receive.
"WORLD RECORD IS 3755 BY ME!!!"
gave me so many goosebumps!!
By heeeeee
Alright lady, calm it the fuck down
"AND IM HUMBLE"
LMAO
Good shit but I do miss the graphs
Love the fact that the 120% speedrun got a better time than the Mike Cerny any% run x)
I'm so so glad you opened with the Cerny bit, it's one of my favorite little bits of Spyro speedrunning history
S2 next :3
Yes please! S2 & S3 would be a banger
Wild to not mention that Cerny went on to become the chief architect of the PS4 and PS5.
@mikepurvis5979Mid
@mikepurvis5979 Cerny has been around the game industry for as long as miyamoto. He is a legend in the industry
yessssss mark cerny making it into this is very important! so heartening the way it came up, too, to see so many of the developments that followed his original statement
It was a pleasure to help in whatever ways I could with this project, it turned out amazing Salt. Congrats on creating yet another work of art and thanks for covering Spyro and PlayStation!
The Man Who Broke Spyro Speedrunning Retrospectives in Half
I just finished watching your take on the Spyro speedrun just before this video dropped! Love what you guys do
The "popoff" chart was perfect. 😂
"I AM SICK... AND, I AM HUMBLE" LOLOL Love the first sub 38min
Genuinely stopped what I was doing, turned up the volume and waited for Dayoman to show up when I felt like it was about the time he'd be mentioned, then cheered. That dude is one of the funniest mfkers on RUclips
Shoutout to Saboom. First speedrunner i ever watched. ❤
"That's the power of a first try rat proxy."
Who’s up summoning their salt?
My salt has been summoned
their
Thank you
Me, my salt it was summoned
me twin
tbh didn't expect john lennon to revolutionize spyro speedrunning...
..one more hour before bed won't hurt.
It was 11:00PM when I started this video and I have to be up early. No regrets
@stfleming1someone from a different timezone 😲😲😲
Composer is one of the hardest usernames I have ever heard
You've been called out, Mark. Come back and reclaim the record. You can do it!
Better gem routes. Better gameplay. Better pizza. Papa Johns.
Just when I thought the board was dead, it kept getting reignited! Great vid and props to the runners! 🎉
Spyro got me through my parents divorce
Hell yeah brother me too
Video games: there for you when the adults in your life aren't!
4:50 this comment situation reminds me of the Rush E one lol
Yeah me too
@goldenwarrior1186 Feels weird knowing that internet deep lore.
That was my first thought!! Fanchen part two
please make this a VHS. this as a purple vhs would be "fire"
36:40 The Popoff scale is another example of SummoningSalt’s very subtle, but amazing comedic timing.
Every time you say "His name was..." I am expecting Matt Turk to show up.
Ive watched every summoning salt video for almost a decade now, but this is the first time hes covering a game whos speedrunning scene i actually follow. This is gonna be a great watch
"WOO MAN I AM SICK, and humble" love this guy
Dayo is the first streamer you've shown who I inexplicably find incredibly charismatic
They got the rizz
Just wait until OOT 100% and Clint shows up.
@TheManster22 clint stevens my beloved
He is charismatic enough to stream Spyro for a living. I invite you to check it out
watch TheRixer's video on him :) its what led to me eventually starting Spyro speedrunning
Genuinely hoping Mark gets to see this. Spyro is a gem, and what a masterpiece of a summary showcasing its speedrunning history and helping preserve its legacy.
There's no way someone isn't emailing him this right now, heh.
It would be funny if his response was showing off a dev. skip that shattered the record. Although I would assume such a thing would have been found through decomplication by ACE hunters.
@AnonymOus-ss9jj not completely decompiled yet.
"Saboom" SSBMstuff
Lol, bro was just trying to play melee
Saboom used to do Home Run Contest WRs in Melee back in the day which is where his name came from
Thought this too, I've never seen the SSBM part of the tag be the one that people pronounce before lol
5:01 "no practice whatsoever" creates a whole detailed route 😂
I caught that as well.
49:50 "and im humble" lol this guy is hilarious
I’ve never clicked on a video so fast! This game was my childhood favorite.
Same. It's a classic, and I loved playing it on the PS1. I jumped on the remastered edition as soon as it released and even got a platinum. Such a nostalgia trip.
Same!
I played the first three so much!
The rest though... Meh
nice dad
@AcidV-j2v a lot of the rest were hit and miss. There were some bangers though
This and Crash. Platforming on steroids era.
From the humble beginnings from the Sprash circle, to where Spyro is today.
Thanks for making a video about the Purple Dragon.
"world record is 37:55 by me.. by ME-HEHEEEHEEEE" ♥
😊
Waiting for Matt Turk to appear...
0:46 This is the type the industry needs as heads of developers
Rehab tomorrow. This video is a solid sendoff to years in the bottle.
Good luck brother 👌🏼
hey good on you and good luck!!!
You’re stronger than you think, you can do it.
You can do it!
We're with you!!
I wish I was in a band just to call it “Long Backed Rat” 🐀 🤘 ❤
21:55 I half expected a “Summoning Salt” again after the long pause 😂
"And his name... Was Zallard1" 🔥🔥🔥
I was expecting Summoning Salt as well
And his name…. Was Matt Turk
Matt Turk haunts me. In any context, whenever there's a slight pause before revelation, I whisper Matt Turk
Good job Composer!
I feel it should be mentioned that Salt was actually recommended by MPAP to do a Spyro 2 World Record progression video, but salt didn't want to, and told MPAP that he could do it. Link: ruclips.net/video/VfiLzNS9RhM/video.html
So, it might have taken few years, but salt finally took Pap's suggestion.
a happy circle
I remember this. Funny how now he decided to now but the more eyes the merrier I guess
34:55 "Near perfect run" and we are halfway through the video, I love speedrunning 🔥
Just yesterday I told my grandma that "I feel like summoning salt is about to post a new video soon" and she went _"-what?"_
Then, she laughed
speedrunning rocks. spyro rocks. give this game a try, you might just love it. thanks for the video, salt. 💖
any% is SO BEAUTIFUL (so is all of spyro and every category of course)
According to comments (and myself) "World record.... by ME!" sent many of us to tears. Congrats and thank you for contributing to the history of a game we love so much.
Blud changed profile picture for the occasion like putting on a suit lol
You're so amazing, your reactions brought tears to my eyes 🥺 many congratulations on the many world records. Your persistence is inspiring ♡
It truly is a pleasure to watch a WR history video of any% that had the help of you and other runners. I can see that you have a passion for this game no one can't match. I'm glad you were (and ARE!) part of this!
:)) GG laura
I had the demo of this game on a Pizza Hut demo disk! Played the absolute life out of it. Never got to play the full game.
I really miss the old theme music...
100%
Same
The old ones hit so hard
What happened to it?
