Before poshmark no one knew of me, in the reselling world. Even though I've been full-time reselling for just under 2 years. I had zero following. But what I did do... is listen to experienced poshmark sellers in the US. Joined as many lives as possible. Added my listings to share trays. Purchased to see how the system worked. Connected and shared others wardrobes and I have had many successful live shows and in wardrobe sales... you get out what you put in... it's not going to be perfect as no platform is for every user! Great video as usual guys. ❤
@@theluxurypickers ❤️ I absolutely believe people should just give it a go if they have time to do so.... with all the tools we have for crosslisting items what's the harm right? And thank you. I really enjoy your educational content... Live shows shows and of course my purchases from you guys 🫶
I do really think the traffic is just not there on Poshmark currently. I also think all the time Vinted exists, there is little motivation for people (non resellers) to put in ‘the work’. I do wish that PM will work, but I think it’s going to be a slow burner.
@@theluxurypickers it’s interesting times. I do think live selling will become more of a ‘thing’ here in the UK….and it seems like a natural progression of selling and buying.
I’m not sure how anyone gets organic sales when the search function is so awful. I can see that people will get sales through customers browsing your store but not for the average Joe. I would love PM to take off although live selling is not for me because my kids say I have resting bitch face and a boring voice!
To answer your question about how long posh lives prep takes... If I prep properly it takes me at least a day. If I prep last minute it has a detrimental effect on my sales, lower number of orders and lower level of competence because I'm faffing more with measurements etc. I also research the brands first but on a last minute one those don't sell because I can't give enough info. I have definitely noticed if I'm feeling more confident I make more sales too so prep/research helps with this, as well as getting a good night's sleep!
I someone who is sharing my own wardrobe and other multiple times daily, listing and interacting with shows, have nearly 50k followers and also following. I find it interesting that I’m still not getting sales, I believe the above is putting work in, and I have worked very hard on the app to get to this point. The only thing I don’t do is lives as that’s not my thing. The fees I don’t fee are an issues, however what I find an issue is having to give discount postage on a item if it has been liked and you send an offer, again taking your profit margin down. I’m watching the platform with interest, but feel Poshmark need a massive advertising campaign to get more organic buyers 😊
Hope you had a fab holiday 😊 With regards to Poshmark, I love the concept, love the live shows and love the community spirit, however it seems (at the moment) that there is not a lot of general public people on board. I appreciate putting in the effort on our part to push sales but it would be beneficial if Poshmark got their marketing team to put out some sort of advertising campaign to draw more people in 👍🏻
I personally think its took more of a social turn with some buying on the side. Which isnt necessarily a bad thing ive watched alot of live sales but only bought from yourselves.
I’m sad you’ve had to defend yourselves - you guys have opened this up for so many of us and I’m grateful for your insights, thanks guys ❤ Also, I sell (at business rates) on eBay and Etsy too and I think Poshmark rates are cheap 😂 maybe others are getting cheaper rates than me 🙈😂
I get what you're saying and I'm happy for you that PM is working for you - and well deserved! However, I do understand why people say that they don't want to get into live shows, and that PM doesn't add value to them as a static platform. Live shows seem to be a lot of work, and even more importantly it's a complete shift of business strategy for most resellers. 1. You need to consistently find good items in high volume to feed regular shows. 2. Your weekly and daily work routines will shift completely. You'll have time commitments and deadlines (i.e. the show). Many resellers resell because it's easy to work around other commitments. 3. You will need to have (or at least be willing to build) a following and to become good at live shows (that's a whole skillset in itself). I totally understand why people say that they have no desire to throw their current reselling strategies over board and to throw themselves into new ones - especially if platform/static selling is working well for them. I totally respect your hard work, but I also respect that others people say that they'd rather stick to whatever they are doing right now. And yep - without live shows, PM doesn't really have a USP that makes it worth putting the effort in IMHO.
100% and thank you for taking the time to write your comment. The points made are excellent. It’s true live selling isn’t for everyone, it’s quite a niche selling technique and as you have pointed out above is a huge shift for most resellers. I think a lot of what we were saying was pointed towards resellers that are using the marketplace for live selling and either it’s not working for them, or something of that nature. As full time resellers it’s completely changed how we resell, our routine, our sourcing. Which has doubled in the last month. It’s extremely hard. And posh have themselves said they aim to be the biggest live resell app in the uk. So live selling is a main selling point at the moment. However the US market only just got live selling this year, and most well established sellers on there have done that via their store pages. Because there are apps like vinted in the uk I think they are pushing that live selling USP to stand out. Which will always divide as something new. - It will be interesting to watch the marketplace develop and see where it ends up sitting in the mix of it all!
To me it seems like it’s still in the testing phase, no marketing but loads of new features. EBay was around years before they put lots into the mainstream marketing and vinted too for that matter. Might need to employ some of us as mods on the live shows to make it a bit safer - that’s been a surprise to me. High gatekeepering then just let loose with very little rules or guidance and no mods. The live show aspect is the USP.
I dont rate PM at all. No traffic at all for me and dont like the app and having to share the wardrobe and others wardrobe to gain any traction. Not for me
I admire anyone who can do live shows or you tube, in my mentality i want to but my anxiety nerves stop me, but i think once you do it cock ups negative people criticizing you and all, you have jumped in started it like a new job i guess you feel so nervous it gets better, you learn from live shows to the spiel , its not easy it really isnt, but you also built your following from nothing!

Do you guys not have apps to share your closet automatically?
We don’t use them. I know there are others on the UK version that use them, but it’s very limited and there aren’t the options in the US to use them.
Look at the tan though!!!
Happy to see you guys back ❤
