Oh my goodness - how utterly beautiful is this? Thank you so much for sharing it, together with so much information to help and inspire beginners like myself. I've been gathering tools and supplies, and I'm just about ready to start, and your video has given me just the confidence I need. Thank you!
I'm always finding bits of glass and ceramic and never knew what to do with what i collected, and now i do! I think i want to make a box for my cat's ashes to put his clay pawprint into as a centerpiece ❤
You did a great job. Offered good advice in Your video. Working in stages was a thought that helped me. Beautiful countertop. Great video of story of your keepsakes. Thanks
Thank you! 😊 I actually moved out of that house almost 2 years ago and I REALLY miss that art of my own creation... I need to find a place in my new house to do a new mosaic project!
Thank you so much for this video! Your sharing how you created your mosaic countertop answered so many of my questions and encouraged me to finish mine. So very inspired to create something beautiful.
Wow, this is truly a work of art. Absolutely beautiful. I love the color and how the light dances on the pieces. Thank you for being thorough and explaining your process and sharing this inspiring piece! I have several outside projects I am going to be doing mosaic on, including talavera tiles I bought for very inexpensive and I am going to be doing outside concrete stair backs to my garden with those. Any tips for outside mosaic projects, such as concrete stair read backs?
WOWW at first I thought it was that stereo type beautiful pathway but this was such a cool idea. Did u cover it up with a fibre glass sheet or plain glass to avoid getting in contact with the few sharp edges ? If not u could try it out ..add lighting effect from under the glass so that the light hits downwards and not the eyes . …❤ Goa loves this culture 👏👏
My goodness! You made my day! Thank you SO much. I did put a lot of love and time into it... Part of me hopes we never move because I can't take it with me :)
@@MakeItPlacesure you can!!! You might need to get a couple wall patch kits though lol but seriously, it's so personal, sentimental, was time consuming etc you definitely should TAKE IT WITH YOU! .. if you ever do leave
Great question - it is definitely not a flat surface. This countertop wasn't the main countertop, or even countertop in that kitchen (I have since moved to a new State). It was the countertop in the Butler's Pantry so it wasn't used on a daily basis, or even often. It mostly came into use as a buffet table, so to speak, when we entertained. It was a great place to set up a food and/or drink station. This definitely isn't something I'd recommend doing to a daily-use countertop. But it works fabulously well for a countertop that isn't part of everyday use!
I saw on a comment that you never want to move bc you can't take it with you... Sure you can!!! You might need to get a couple wall patch kits though lol but seriously, it's so personal, sentimental, was time consuming etc you definitely should TAKE IT WITH YOU! .. if you ever do leave
Ironically I did leave... and it stayed with my beloved old 129 year old Victorian house in Chicagoland. I like to think of it as a little piece of myself that will inspire creativity in those who live in that beautiful home now and in the future. I still have leftover tiles that I want to incorporate into another mosaic project in the new house in the country :)
Jealous of your butler's pantry AND your mosaic counter! It's all beautiful!

Hi. Very interesting, but where is the process video? That would be good to see the technique in process.
Looks amazing! Thank you
Thank you so much for the compliment! It was a labor of love (and time...)
This is so gorgeous!!! Would you follow the same steps if you wanted to create stepping stones for outside?
Very interesting. What a beautiful treasure in your home
Beautiful!
Just stunning....I am planning a mosaic mural exterior wall...any tips ?
I can see resin on top to protect it! But I love working with resin as well :)
Great job
It's very beautiful, but it's uneven, how do you use it????
