Tom, That "Plastic Gear Thingy " you mentioned in the video is the Oil Pump. If you ever dive back in the clutch cover, Upgrading to the HIGH FLOW Oil Pump is definitely a good swap while your in there, for more reliability of your motor . Specially since you like to run those long wheelies. ;-)
HardRacing some interesting advice from a well known name... how much for the upgrade and why would it be beneficial? going to do a clutch upgrade next on my Z.
Higher flow Oil Pump ensures all the vital parts (Head, Bearing, cams...etc) are getting as much oil as possible. It's just cheap insurance for a longer lasting motor.
Nice vid Tom. I have a Z125 semi auto, converted it into pro, all parts for conversion are OEM. I watched your video and everything in there is already pretty much the same as mine. Tho, whenever I shift from neutral to 1st, theres a bit of jerking half way when I release the lever. And for some reason the clutch is so sensitive the gear already engages with a slight release of the clutch... Does the Pro clutch really feel like this?
Cool video, can't help but think, did you start filming these with the idea of dual purpose? Drinking and wrenching filming so you remember how it came apart and then also the ability to show everyone how it's done? LOL I say it because it's something I would have done too when I was a beer drinker. So I've got respect for ya there. Miss drinking good craft beers and wrenching on cars and bikes! Thanks for sharing this it will help me maintain my 17' Z125pro.
After riding WOT for a couple of miles - stop at a light - try to wheelie when green and it slipped like crazy. I want a more solid grip and could have probably gotten away with springs only bit I figured while there... Also, I plan on being pretty hard on this little guy.
Any after market parts exhaust/intake/fuel controller the stock clutch will give. add an extension to the Z and the clutch will slip in 3rd and 4th like butter. will be using this video as a reference when my clutch arrives thanks again Tom! I work for Costco so I drink my elysian beer in bulk 22 Oz bottles while I work on my bike. you can see my bike in the z125owners website under z125evo8

How did you adjust the cable after? I did the clutches new but now the lever release feels off.
