I’ve had my Ludwig accent power tone since 2008 it’s been fourteen years all ready still looks new.guitar center has used ones and looks like it been in a war 😆but thair pretty decent kits I used it in one of our gigs. I put clear pinstripes in them no pillows or muffing just a big sound 🙂🥁
The Ludwig element evolution kit is intermediate and the accent kit is entry level! The kit punches well above the cymbals but the Element evolution kit is an intermediate kit!
@@chrisryan91 element evolution uses poplar wood Which is cheaper wood but comparable to birch. The element I think you're referring to the evolution maple which uses maple
Just ordered a "Ludwig Element Evolution Drum Set With Hardware & Zildjian I Series Cymbals - 22" Bass Drum"........then I realized you guys are only an hour south of me here in Cleveland...so WIN-WIN!
I have been toying over the idea of a drum kit for our house for a few years...and I keep coming back to a few options....one being start with the very cheapest decent kit, like Pearl Roadshow or Ludwig Accent.... and see if myself or one of the kids actually takes to it...then I tell myself that lower quality would possibly be frustrating and an issue that might stop a kid from really getting the passion for drumming. I have then looked at the Element Evolution, and Tama Imperialstar kits, and it seems like the better cymbals alone are worth the extra price. This video definitely shows the difference in cymbal sound. So, my questions.... are the Zildjian i cymbals with new kits better or worse than the ZBT ones? How would you compare these 2 to the Meinl cymbals with an Imperialstar kit? Lastly, how would you compare the Element Evolution as a whole package, to the Imperialstar, and would these kits with eventual head and cumbal upgrades be worthy of a first band for a teen or youngster if they actually take to music? (Thinking the imvestment may he better than a cheap kit, and a second kit later, if that is the case and it could be grown into rather than out of) I do mobile entertainment and PA work, and have long been into simple percussion instruments and hand drums, and have 3 kids, 2 of which are very much music lovers. One has a keyboard and guitar already, and has rhythm... Thanks for the video... happy new year!
Thanks for the comment! The new Zildjian i Family of cymbals is an improvement on the ZBT line, so the cymbals that we liked better before sound even better now. We like the Zildjian i Family cymbals a little better than the Meinl HCS cymbals that come with the imperial star kit. Both lines of cymbals are good entry level cymbals, we just like the sound of the Zildjians a little better. The Imperial star kit and the Element evolution kit are both great options for a first drum set. We think the Element evolution edges out the imperial star in a couple of ways: slightly better cymbals and better stock batter heads. Everything else is pretty similar between the two. I hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!
I’m looking for instructions on the vibraband mounts on Tom toms surely their not just supposed to float putting uneven tension on the heads every time you hit them
The accent drive kit is also a good option for a beginner. The cymbals are cheaper and will likely need replaced at some point, the tom mount is cheaper on the accent kit and the finishes aren't as fancy as the Evolution kits.

Great Introduction to entry kits, vocabulary and price range.

Is there a difference between element and element evolution?

@@chrisryan91 I actually have the element evolution and I love the sound

Genuinely helpful for me! Looking at my first drumset and this was exactly what I needed.
That's great! Glad we could help!
Great video, I was looking for the difference in those 2. Thanks.

Great video, and extremely helpful!
Cory, you could make a First Act kit sound professional. I always enjoy your playing, sir!
Great video but those toms can be tuned better and please consider reviewing Tama Imperialstar
Yes toms sounded dead.
Can you please suggest which one is better among Tama Rhythm Mate and Pearl Roadshow
Know of anywhere to find like a demonstration of some ludwig element/evolution's being tuned?

Casing?
The blue Accent Drive any good?
