wow, i honestly never thought that comfortable slow paced cardio is the base to create a monstrous cardio capacity. I also thought that full speed high intervals, was the best way to increase cardio
I've never really done much cardio and just stuck with bodybuilding because I knew nothing about cardio or where to start, but now after watching this I know where to start, and it will be especially important since I'll be going to army bootcamp soon. Thank you for the video!
hey man would be great if you did a fighters workout programme, sort of like a Baki IRL programme that involves the strength stuff but also the skills training and cardio scheduled in. Thanks!
I had this exact issue happen to me over and over again. My cardiovascular system was ready to be running, (mostly from cycling), but my body just wasn't at all. Not to mention being overweight. I couldn't understand how slow I had to go, it was excruciatingly slow to "run" for my body to start getting stronger to catch up and ultimately be able to run. Multiple weeks where I would have to stop due to shin splints or other minor issues, putting me backwards. After that happening 3x I had to have my watch beep at me any time I started accidentally running too quickly.
Ben I'm so caught up in deciding what physique programme to follow , because in every character's physique I find something else that I want missing, so I was thinking if you could make a video on that tik tok v taper physique.
Just stick to one for like 6 months. You will get results. Then you can re-evaluate and pick another if you feel some areas are lagging. I'd say the Gojo program is pretty well balanced. My best programs are of course on my shopify. I'll make a video soon about just a simple balanced physique program
@@BenWinney yes , and make the workout more enjoyable and sustainable focusing on forearms, neck and traps too. Basically those tik tok v taper physiques that blow up
Despite my efforts, I just hate running. Biking feels much better for me. Do you have any advice about time spent on the bike, bpm and so on? Thank you so much for the work!
Yea biking works great for cardio. Spend most of your time in zone 2 with some HIIT the remainder of the sessions e.g. 3-4 zone 2 sessions per week and 1-2 HIIT sessions
Yo thank you so much for this, the back of my foot/heel or whatever its called keeps aching me and I'm glad I'm learning more about these running tips so I can continue running in the future. By any chance on another note; do you think you can do a anime fitness physique video on Gildarts Clive from Fairy Tail for Calisthenics? Think he'd be fun.
6. many runnners are Heel strike runners and not forefootrunners. forfootrunning is better for the joints and you come better in a flowstate. Buy shoes that fits good and made for forefootrunnig.
Great video, I was planning on running in the near future, especailly during summer so that my fitness doesn't drop. At 8:30, you mentioned your 'homemade energy drink' with the ingredients, and it seems really good (especially considering the benefits you've mentioned before for honey and electrolytes). I was wondering if you'd be able to tell the recipe that you use (i.e. how many grams of each ingredient you use). Thanks for the great info Ben
If you mean shoes to deal with overpronation, some good examples are Brooks Adrenaline GTS and Saucony Guide. Those are two that I've used personally to help with my overpronation and I can recommend them, especially the Brooks Adrenaline GTS. Use whatever the most recent model is, currently I think that's the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23 and Saucony Guide 17.
what I did when i started running was running 2 km everyday for like 5-7 weeks straight i think, and i in the beginning took maybe 20 min, now probably 9.5 mins
What do you think of Golden era bookworm's video on the effect of 36 eggs being similar to a mild anabolic phase?? Is it something you would recommend?
It would be a lot of cholesterol which would mean a lot of testosterone gets produced. That number of eggs is unrealistic for most people though. I wouldn't recommend it but it's something you can experiment with for a few days or weeks and see what the effects are
@@BenWinney yeah he recommended it for around 6 weeks i believe. He's also made another video where he went over the actual testosterone found in the yolk amongst other hormones, it was 9.6 ng/dl per egg if im correct

I've heard good things about them. Never tried them myself. You should get used to walking in them before running first though, and start very slow and easy. I've also heard it's better to run on soft ground like grass rather than concrete
No that should be fine as long as you don't go all out each session. You can start very easy and gradually push it harder to see how much you can recover from. It's also generally recommended to take an easy week every 4 weeks
I'm pretty excited to see where this new generation of health and human performance studying generation goes
definitely need the martial arts conditioning video! great information as always.
Thank You.

What is interesting is i came to the same conclusions as yoi did because i listened to what my body said
Good on you for paying attention and trusting your intuition

Also you should not run on concrete or hard surfaces because that’s what damages the cartilage on your knees. It’s better to run on grass
Thanks man, I’m starting to get into running again since I hadn’t been able to properly work out and train cause of school
Good luck bro

I would really recommend coach to 5k as this helps you gradually get into running

It's about 500 mL of water, 1 tbsp of honey, half a lemon squeezed, and 0.5 tsp of sea salt
Thanks, I'll definitely try trying it out! 👍
Good video, learnt few things.
Do a video or a post on face fat.

Wouldn't recommend it for running. Stick to Altra's if you want a minimalist running shoe.
if I'm doing a full body program (mon, wed, fri) will runs on (tue, thu, sat) negatively effect my recovery?
