Haridwar is an ancient city and an important Hindu pilgrimage site in North India's Uttarakhand state, where the River Ganges exits the Himalayan foothills. The largest of several sacred ghats (bathing steps), Har Ki Pauri hosts a nightly Ganga Aarti (river-worshipping ceremony) in which tiny flickering lamps are floated off the steps.
This video shows our short trip to Haridwar from Delhi.
The distance from Delhi is around 213 km by road and this trip can be done at a weekend easily. There are plenty of Stay & Eat options and a lot of famous historical places to visit.
We have covered a few famous places and a few famous food options in Haridwar. We have also captured the Main Ganga Aarti from Har Ki Pauri. Last but not least we have also covered a new route from Haridwar towards Rishikesh which goes via Chilla Dam & Rajaji National Park Safari route.
