Thanks, Dan - lovely to listen to. Made me think just how long it is since I sat listening to a jazz band swapping solid inside solos and garnering an appreciative round after each one. May we soon return to Live Music!
Excellent job Dan. May I suggest you an other solution than iReal Pro. I found SONGISTIC too and I'm using both. It has much more realistic sound somewhere halfway between iReal Pro and a real band. This iOS app keeps me on the ball and alive in this crazy times... It has gypsy jazz style too. I'm practising every day with that. Maybe Songistic can be a good topic for later videos too. Cheers
I have absolute pitch, so I tend to hear the notes that the fretboard says. I know that might sound arrogant and a bit far-fetched, but I didn’t use a system per se. I’m a violinist originally.
Makin Django smile again, Dan. Great lesson!🤟
That was amazing and fun😎🎸🎸🎸
You make it sound and look so simple. You also explain things very well..
Thanks, Dan - lovely to listen to.

Dan Baker - Extraordinary Musician
fantastic, thanks Dan!
This is a little (probably a lot!) past my current skill levels but very inspiring; thanks Dan.
Fun!

Amazing playing, hats off. I have to ask - what system do you use to learn your scales? Do you CAGED or 3 notes per string or something else?

@@DanBakerMusic I see, very impressive! Always better to know the notes. So do you almost never practice scale shapes then?
I do practise scale shapes but because of my violin playing, scales for me are less “shapey” than the notes heard...
