Just to reinforce Vicky's terrific ideas:
Turn off power strip, when possible. Wear a hat like a ski cap, and a sweater or bathrobe when cold (My gf of 11 years who sadly passed away, lived in a cold 🥶 house in Binghamton NY, USA - we did the above). Use 'microfiber' not cotton for easier laundry drying. Would go on, but I'd rather hear Vicky do the talking !

    Mine are.
    1. Unplug everything you don't need the toaster, kettle, microwave etc..
    2. Heat just one room that u are in, not the whole house. Use halgon heaters instead of heating.
    3. If you are 1,2,3 person household see if you can get a water meter and assess how much water you use if it expensive.
    4. If possible and if you have one near by use a laundrette and just do one big wash at the weekend or beginning of the week.
    5. I recommend envelope method. We budget with how much we get per month usually same amount. 1st Bill's get paid, then necessities, big food shop. Then what ever is left is divided out over 4 weeks.
    6. Have no Spends day and don't feel guilty if you can't afford to buy your child magazine or toys..they'll survive and older kids explain the situation and in a fun way get them involved. You can help learn to budget for the future.
7.Also like me if you didn't know how to budget there are plenty RUclips and Google with print offs that will teach u how and find what works for YOU..Its not a one size fits all..

@@misslanapaulford I’m going to give cash envelopes a proper try, it’s something I’ve toyed with and have tried to implement digitally but think it will be interesting to try it this way x

Also to run dehumidifier is saving on heating. When you have a right level of humidity in the house your radiators will run more efficiently

I would be careful with turning down boilers. They should always run over 60 degrees so they kill dangerous bacteria.
