The NSW government deserves praise for this. The stations are absolutely gorgeous, so grand and so well designed. The trains, signange, lighting etc is perfect. The central station upgrade is incredible.
I love the new stations they are edifices which will make them tourist worthy as well as practicl to use. I even got lost in Martin Place Station yesterday it is that huge. Sydney is now officially "big"
Hi Phil, thanks for another excellent video. The escalators to the Metro platforms are amazingly steep. Incidentally, what rail line did platform 15 cover before it was demolished? I think that changing here to the inner west train line may take a bit longer for Bankstown line people, than changing platforms at Redfern as it is currently possible with Sydney trains. With all the work done there, Central Station must have more than doubled in size. Anyway, take care. Rob in Melbourne Australia.
The platform screen door chimes feel like they are in the "wrong order" since I'm very familiar with the door chimes of Toronto's TTC subway, i.e., the descending tone of the chimes. 😆 I'm still in awe over how much Sydney has achieved in such a short time. I remember reading about the "Metro North" decades ago, and in fits and starts not happening. And them it actually did, with a true push to bring the line into the CBD and then to the southwest. Very cool!
why doesn't the new station upgrade have no Toilet's throughout & why the new automated trains don't come every 3 mins like they said it would its all nice but its a Total Flop when not everything is in Sync
